POTUS 44. Hip Hop 44

Make sure to visit Google today and have fun with the amazing interactive Hip Hop doodle!

Google: 44th Anniversary of the Birth of Hip Hop

On August 11, 1973, an 18-year-old, Jamaican-American DJ who went by the name of Kool Herc threw a back-to-school jam at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, New York. During his set, he decided to do something different. Instead of playing the songs in full, he played only their instrumental sections, or “breaks” – sections where he noticed the crowd went wild. During these “breaks” his friend Coke La Rock hyped up the crowd with a microphone. And with that, Hip Hop was born.

Today, we celebrate the 44th anniversary of that very moment with a first-of-its-kind Doodle featuring a custom logo graphic by famed graffiti artist Cey Adams, interactive turntables on which users can mix samples from legendary tracks, and a serving of Hip Hop history – with an emphasis on its founding pioneers. What’s more, the whole experience is narrated by Hip Hop icon Fab 5 Freddy, former host of “Yo! MTV Raps.”

“One King’s dream, he was able to Barack us.”; love this line from Common’s rap/hip-hop poem. The Obama White House was a boon to the arts. The diversity of the acts that performed there, the insistence that young people be included in forums with artists from every genre and every ethnicity gave inspiration to thousands and showed that country is we not all made up of cultural snobs or philistines.

SO tired of all the “winning”. Congress needs to get the madman out of there before he blows up the world.

LONDON • The damage inflicted on world stocks this week by the escalating war of words over North Korea topped $1 trillion on Friday, as investors again took cover in the yen, the Swiss franc, gold and government bonds.

With the tense mood pushing European shares down for a third day and Wall Street set to fall again, global stocks were on course for their worst week since Donald Trump won November’s U.S. presidential election.

Now installed in the White House, Trump issued a new warning to Pyongyang on Friday, tweeting: “Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely.”

    SO much “winning”

Four senior cybersecurity officials are stepping down from their US government positions, raising concerns that an exodus of top leaders may make the federal government more vulnerable to hacking.

Two of those resigning – Sean Kelley, the chief information security officer for the Environmental Protection Agency, and Richard Staropoli, the chief information officer for the Department of Homeland Security – had been in their jobs for just a few months.

The other two, Rob Foster, the Navy’s chief information officer, and Dave DeVries, the director of information security and privacy at the Office of Personnel Management, are departing agencies for which computer security is a top priority. DeVries assumed his job shortly after the OPM suffered the largest known cyberattack in federal government history, and Foster had served in similar positions at the Department of Health and Human Services and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Ann Dunkin, the CIO of the EPA under President Barack Obama who was asked to leave by Trump’s transition team and now holds the same title for Santa Clara County, California, told BuzzFeed News that four executives leaving in such a short time raised red flags.

“There appears to be a concerted effort to remove the career CIOs who were there during the Obama administration,” Dunkin said. “During the last week we’ve seen four go? That smells.”

I will continue to say this..
    1. Pence is up to his eyeballs in the Flynn mess
    2. The thought that Dolt45 will go down WITHOUT dragging PENCE with him?
Delusional on Pence’s part. Dolt45 will NEVER take one for the team. And, if he’s going down..EVERYBODY IS.

Is Mike Pence the “Deep State” That Trump Fears?
The vice president is clearly planning for a post-Trump presidency. But is he also trying to accelerate Trump’s demise?

Rachel Maddow explains why this week’s frantic bellicosity from Donald Trump toward North Korea does not seem to have had a distinct trigger.

Rachel Maddow shows the contrasting messaging from different members of the Trump team in how they’re speaking about the potential threat from North Korea.

I look forward to the day when I can open the newsfeeds and Twitter without thoughts of “what fresh hell is this” each day. ‘Locked and loaded”?! a tired line from 80’s and 90’s action movies. Stupid, dangerous tweet from a CIC of a nuclear country, made without any consultation, knowledge, or any other type of awareness of what these careless worlds can do to world markets, peace an prosperity world-wide. This admin. and the hapless GOP government that allow this danger to go on have evolved into a terrorist organization that is a threat to the world. What more must this fool do before he is removed? I hope and pray that it will be before bodies are piled up, our water and air befouled, and the crashing of world economies. If we do not take care of this, I do not blame other countries for whatever steps they may wound up taking to stop this catastrophe before it consumes them.

Putin expelled diplomats, approx 700 of them people who have dedicated their lives in service to the country Trump is now responsible for not to mention the sacrifice their families make. Included in that our Russians who serve on our behalf and who are not liked by Putin. This is nothing to joke about and it is a blatant display of appeasement.

This is typical of the GOP tactics. In NC a Dem won the Gov seat. The GOP controlled State Chambers are making laws to deny him his legal powers. Just like GOP in Congress did to Pres Obama from Day one…..Unprecedented Obstructionism, Filibusters at record high, Denying Recess appointments, Refusing for ACA to take hold, suppression of Votes at record high, Debt Ceiling…by shutting down Gov’t, disrespect at record level & shouting “You Lie” at an address by POTUS44 to Congress.
This didn’t start today. It’s been going on since 1968……starting with the Southern Strategy to buying up 40%+ of the News Media Via Cultish Propaganda Echo Chamber in dumbing down American Citizenry.

What’s terrifying is that Guam is a US territory, the same status of Hawaii’s when Dec 7, “the day that will live in infamy” happened, and we all know what happened after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. 😦

You’re right, the Der Spiegel cover could be considered in poor taste, but it’s indicative of how the world views FUBAR — I’m sure most of world just cannot believe what has happened here.

This was the tweet I responded to w/ the map of Guam…

Really at a loss for words — most Americans agree with this Aussie, but apparently FUBAR could launch a land war in Asia (or worse), and the GOP in Congress will continue to vote for selling off the valuable pieces of this country to the oil barons and military contractors, removing every safety and environmental standard they can, and confirm judges who make sure that as many women as possible are oppressed as much as possible.

Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) initially said he opposed the Senate’s Obamacare repeal efforts, voted for it anyway — and now claims he’s glad it was defeated.

In a video published by liberal super PAC American Bridge, Heller claims he’s happy with the outcome of the bill’s defeat — glossing over the fact that he voted for the bill himself.

“I obviously got in the middle of this healthcare battle,” Heller said, “and I feel real pleased with the way this thing turned out.”

He concluded the short statement by saying, with a smile, that Republicans are now “turning the page to tax reform.”

    Good morning.
I came across this, and thought this is too funny to not share 🙂
Donald Trump went to London and met with the Queen.

“Your Queenship, “ he asked her. “I am finding things way more difficult than I could have imagined. May I ask you – how do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give me?”

“Well,” replied Her Majesty, “the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people.”

    Trump frowned.

“But how do you know the people around you are really intelligent?” he asked.

“Oh, that’s easy” the Queen replied. “You just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle”.

She pushed a button on her intercom. “Please send Theresa May in here.”

The Prime Minister walked into the room.

“You called for me, Your Majesty?”

“Answer me this, if you would, Theresa. “ the Queen said. “Your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?”

Without pausing for even a second, Theresa May answered, “That would be me.”

“Yes! Very good,” said the Queen.

Trump went back home, returned to the White House and the very next day called for Mike Pence to come and see him.

Pence duly trotted in to the Oval Office

“Mike, answer this for me,’ said the Don. “Your mother and your father have a child. It’s not your brother and it’s not your sister. Who is it?”

“I’m not sure,” said Pence. “Let me get back to you on that one.

Pence went panicking off to his advisers and asked everyone, but none of them could give him an answer.

The next night, as it happened, Pence ran in to Hillary Clinton in a restaurant. By now, desperate for an answer to give to his tyrannical boss, he approached her – much to her surprise.

“Hillary, I know we haven’t always seen eye to eye but I would really appreciate it if you could answer this riddle for me

“Sure, Mike “Hillary said. “I’m not one to hold a grudge. What is it?”

“Thanks, said Pence,” It’s this. Your mother and father have a child and it’s not your brother or your sister. Who is it?”

Hillary answered right back, “That’s easy, it’s me!”

    Pence smiled, “Thanks!”

Pence then went back to speak with Trump. “Say, boss, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It’s Hillary Clinton.”

Trump got up, stomped over to Pence, and angrily yelled at him. “No, you idiot! It’s Theresa May!”

We really are. My fingers hit the keyboard this morning, and literally BY THEMSELVES, typed “Iodine tablets”. No lie. Then my mind IMMEDIATELY went to the lengths of terrifying idiocy America is allowing this POS to go to……and compared it to the constant complaints PBO had to endure….I about got whiplash just sitting at the computer this morning.

NCLB, can you imagine that in 2017 we have a class of privileged people marching with torches still not happen with a system that will forgive any sin that they might commit? Words escape me, I really don’t know what to say. It seems as though something has happened in this country that has unleashed something dark and sinister.

…and that something is Donald Trump and the new crop of GOP.

Before this era, people will hide their racist tendencies and would be ashamed of them. Now, they are emboldened and want to display them because it has become fashionable and accepted.
