    Thomas Friedman (sp?) on AC360 gave a really good explanation of why TPP was a good thing.
    (Too bad HRC had to change her position on it … but I suppose she was trying to please the rabid left)
    My boyfriend is in the Sanders camp ( not that either of us can vote in the US election but …) and was against the TPP.
    I hope to find an article by Friedman on TPP … for the Sanders supporter in my house .

    the homegrown demagogue has lived his life at the edge of the law and has survived most scandals;

    true that the gop are cowards, enablers and collaborators

    but here is what I think may make his current situation not an easy one to escape => he has continued to publicly attack and denigrate the intelligence community in the US; in addition, he has compromised the safety of other intelligence agencies around the world;

    yes, a cat may have nine lives but at the end, even the cat will exhaust its chances. so his political path may not be as clear as some think

    …We will also see leadership from the United States now at a subnational level, with mayors and governors and universities and businesses all stepping forward. I think that is tremendous, and very, very important. But you can’t be Pollyannaish about it. Republicans continue to publicly downplay their “progress” with AHCA/BCRA as they continue to work behind the scenes to sneak something through.

    Even Republican senators say their healthcare bill is “dead.” BUT THEIR EFFORT TO REPEAL AND REPLACE THE ACA IS FAR FROM OVER — and the GOP is preparing to unveil a revised bill and sprint to pass it.

    • July 11, 2017 at 8:26 am

      And here we go…….

      Senate Republican leaders are moving forward this week on legislation to repeal and replace major parts of ObamaCare despite divisions within their conference.

      Leaders will brief rank-and-file Republican senators Tuesday during their weekly lunch on the revisions they have made to the legislation in an effort to bridge the gap between moderates and conservatives.

      They expect to make the revised bill public later in the week and get a score from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) before bringing it to the floor for a vote.

      Senate Republican Whip John Cornyn (Texas) on Monday said the legislation would likely be unveiled by the end of this week, setting up a vote for next week.

    on his show last night, Lawrence interviewed a gentleman (guess his name is Browder who was the lawyer for Magnitsky) who had worked in opposition to the infamous russian lady lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya (Ms. V) who is at the center of the reports about don jr.

    Browder said that Ms. V is one brash lady who loves the limelight and would not shy away from the media glare.

    Browder predicted that the media would definitely get some interview with Ms. V;

    yes, this morning, Browder’s prediction have come true and Ms. V has given at least 1 interview that I have seen one with NBC.

    From the translation of the interview, Ms. V claims that it is don jr. and the whole Team Treason that wanted the damaging information about Sec. HRC and came specifically to seek it.

    so unless it is lost in translation, Ms. V appears to be already contradicting don jr.

    like I predicted about this and any russian scandal or policy, the question is which crook are you going to believe?

    my suspicion is that given her experience as a russian operative, Ms. V probably has the whole interaction taped.

    at least her responses with NBC indicates that she remembers exactly who was seated where and doing what.

    I hate to compare Ms. V to Director Comey’s report but keep in mind that she is a trained Russian operative;

    …. kind of reminded me of Director Comey’s recollection of his meetings with the homegrown demagogue. people who are trained or have experience dealing with crooks and usually are more prepared to record details

      This country will be unrecognizable as a democracy if FUBAR is still “president” in 2024.

    “What is the Blue Whale suicide challenge…”

    Fifteen-year-old Isaiah Gonzalez was a soon-to-be sophomore who just joined the ROTC program at his high school. But on Saturday, Gonzalez’s father, Jorge, stepped into his son’s bedroom in their San Antonio home. Isaiah was dead, hanging from the closet, an apparent suicide. Next to his body was a cellphone propped up on a shoe, broadcasting the suicide, according to KSAT.

    If the teenager’s sudden suicide wasn’t tragic enough, the Gonzalez family quickly learned Isaiah’s end was possibly tied to a macabre online spectacle known as the Blue Whale Challenge.

    If alarm is its goal, it’s succeeding. Whether urban legend or reality, there is no doubt that parents, law enforcement, and school authorities are concerned about what appears to be one of the Web’s darker phenomena. Over the past few weeks, several school districts across the country have issued warnings to parents about the potential risks of the Blue Whale Challenge.

    The Blue Whale suicide game is believed to be an online social media group which is encouraging people to kill themselves.

    There are hundreds of thousands of posts relating to the sick trend on Instagram.

    It’s thought a group administrator assigns daily tasks to members, which they have to complete over 50 days.

    The horrific tasks include self-harming, watching horror movies and waking up at unusual hours, but these gradually get more extreme.

    On the 50th day, the controlling manipulators behind the game reportedly instruct the youngsters to commit suicide.

    • July 11, 2017 at 8:37 am

      The Miami Police Department released a video warning parents about the challenge and encouraging them to be vigilant about their child’s online activities. Participants are expected to post photos or videos of themselves performing the challenges.

    This story was overlooked yesterday, but it was announced that Dolt45 will NOT be building a new FBI Headquarters. This had been years in the making.

    FYI – the story was that the contract was to be given to one of Kushner’s business partners. I can only think that someone got back to them and told them, nope, it couldn’t happen. A building that sensitive, the contractor would be chosen from a group of long trusted and proven contractors. There’s no way that anyone remotely attached to Kushner would pass that smell test.

    So, once again, out of spite, in order to ‘bring the FBI to heel’, here goes Kushner., doing to the FBI, what he did to Qatar (reminder, Qatar wouldn’t do business with Kushner, so thus, they have been isolated)

    Muthaphucka, they are THE F.B.I…..and, you think that they’re NOT gonna retaliate?

        Absolutely, desertflower. Since 45 has been in office, he has done NOTHING that would have led to this outcome. The things that he has done would most likely have had the opposite affect.

        Many of PBO’s plans were set up and implemented in ways that were not so easy to undo.

They are solid enough to stand on their own.

    The June 3, 2016, email sent to Donald Trump Jr. could hardly have been more explicit: One of his father’s former Russian business partners had been contacted by a senior Russian government official and was offering to provide the Trump campaign with dirt on Hillary Clinton.

    The documents “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” read the email, written by a trusted intermediary, who added, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”

    If the future president’s elder son was surprised or disturbed by the provenance of the promised material — or the notion that it was part of an ongoing effort by the Russian government to aid his father’s campaign — he gave no indication.

    He replied within minutes: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”

    Bye, Don.

      More from the story: ( All his “friends” seem to be bottom feeders)

      “Emin just called and asked me to contact you with something very interesting,” Mr. Goldstone wrote in the email. “The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”

      He added, “What do you think is the best way to handle this information and would you be able to speak to Emin about it directly?”

      There is no such title as Crown Prosecutor in Russia – the Crown Prosecution Service is a British term – but the equivalent in Russia is the Prosecutor General of Russia.
