Today our pastor preached about “fathering” as a verb, not “father” as a noun. It takes a short time to ‘be” a father, but fathering takes love, devotion, consistency, discipline, and there are many people who father who have not sired children. Thank you to all those who have taken on the joy of fathering, in any way whatsoever. Bless you.
Two years ago today, we had my husband going home service. And this tweet of Meta’s is poignant for me, because it reminded me of PBO’s gracious response to me when I wrote about the lack of healthcare in Liberia, my native country around the time when Ebola was killing off people there, and the fact that some day my husband wanted to go home, but we couldn’t because of the lack of life saving health care there. It was the time when he invited African Leaders for the summit here, and President Sirleaf could not attend due to the raging Ebola in Liberia and neighboring countries at the time.
