I LOVE that portrait, and I LOVE the tan suit. Always have since he first wore it, and never understood the controversy over it. It looks beautiful with his complexion…..maybe that’s what made the white male oldsters so mad. He is just magnificent.

Was wondering, because I think the typical unveiling happens much later than half a year after they’re in office. (Just looked up W’s – happened in 2012.) I’d love it if they rushed President Obama’s, however! ❤

‘Too Black and Militant’ – Critics Slam Marvel Comics for Black Panther Movie Poster
    by Tosin

After just 24 hours for the release of the teaser trailer of Marvels new film, Black Panther, the media backlash has already started.

The powerful trailer featured actors Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Angela Bassett in a very strongly themed Marvel superhero movie that wove the storyline around the Fictitious Wakandan leader and ruler, T’Challa who also doubles as the Black Panther.

Following the release of the poster and teaser trailer yesterday, critics are claiming the new poster resembles Social Activist and Co-Founder of The Black Panther Party, Huey P. Newton, who was seen as ‘too militant’ in the 1960’s.

I’m not surprised, folk were up in arms when a black guy appeared in Star Wars’ “The Force Awakens”, and folk were up in arms when a character in “The Hunger Games” turned out to be black. And lets not forget that folk are up in arms that the main character in the new Star Trek reboot is a black female. Unless we’re playing pimps and prostitutes and drug dealers and drug addicts, then we’re aren’t to be seen or heard from. I was having a conversation with some friends recently and I told them I was going to see “Wonder Woman,” there were no side looks or funny expressions, there was no deep philosophical discussion. As a matter of fact one of my friend’s wives wanted to go see it. As a group our discussions about movies rarely touch on the racial aspect of a movie, because at the end of the day its just a fucking movie. What the fuck do I care if some fucking character in a Star Wars movies is black or not? I mean if I’m going to see a movie about Malcolm X, I expect his character to be black. I mean I don’t think Brad Pitt would work as Malcolm X. But Han Solo, I wouldn’t give if a fuck if he were black, white or brown.

Raise your hand if you saw that knew there was gonna be some shit over it. 🙋🏽

I’m pretty sure the filmmakers did that on purpose. I thought it was pretty cool. Chadwick looks like a mu’freakin’ King – as he should. Let the critics get all shooketh! Eff ’em!

Black Teen Finds Photo of Herself Being Lynched Shared in Group Chat

    Breanna Edwards
    Today 8:58am

A 15-year-old California high school student discovered a shocking picture of herself with a noose drawn around her neck posted in a chemistry chat room for Los Angeles’ Palisades Charter High School.

“Oh, my God, it’s me being lynched,” Aina Adewunmi told CBSLA. “Looking at an image of yourself like that hurts.”

Aina is new to Palisades, having just transferred to the charter school in January. She said she’d mostly felt welcomed and accepted by students there, but three boys in particular started to use racial slurs.

“They added me to their group chat and then started using the n-word,” Aina said, according to the New York Daily News. “I said they can’t use the word, and that’s when I thought I set the boundary.”

    • June 12, 2017 at 1:04 pm

      hello Rikyrah…

your two posts side by side shows how racism/racists in America want to control us in every way and are not above the use of intimidation and fear….last week there were three reported episodes of nooses found…one in National Museum of African
American History and Culture….in another place on Smithsonian grounds…and on a tree near a elementary school in DC….and now you report this….

Unlike the candidates who quit the race because of threats…we as blk folks can never quit…because no matter what… those racist folks will always come after us…be they on the right or the left…

      • June 12, 2017 at 1:50 pm

As someone with a relative who took her life that way after years of denigration by a psychopathic husband — I know the mere images of nooses (sometimes presented in comedy or other “incidental” movie settings) create a horror hard to describe. How much more so for the superhuman African American community that has endured thousands of LYNCHINGS by whites. IMO this kind of intimidation must be tracked down, exposed and punished to the maximum.

I hope Aina is getting the support she needs now and that there are severe consequences brought to bear on those racist cretins.

On Gianforte’s Assault of journalist Jacobs:
-The Judge initially gave Gianforte FOUR days of jail time to be served working in the Sheriff’s office in Gallatin.
-After Gianforte’s lawyers approached the bench, the Judge changed the sentence to community work and 20 hours of anger management.
It doesn’t take a lot to see that bully Gianforte, a very wealthy “billionaire jerk from New Jersey” who didn’t make Governnor – is sitting on a lot of entitlement anger. HIs creationist views, LGBT discrimination, selling of public lands, history of hostility to journalists (not mentioned in a court that made him into an angel) and Trumpism is going to be a big problem.

      June 12, 2017 at 1:14 pm

Not only is Trumpism going to be a problem, the real problem is the low information voter that doesn’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out that keeps voting for people like Trump that promises to keep those other people in their place. That is the number one Trump problem.

Gag me with a spoon. Men have to check their balls at the door to work with/for 45, or more than likely they did not have them in the first place. I do not feel sorry for the abuse that they are putting up with because they have meted out worse to many with their lies, gerrymanding, assaults on voting rights, assaults on women and POC of all kinds. They got what they thought they wanted and they are chocking on it. Karma is the head bitch in charge.

      • June 12, 2017 at 2:06 pm

REALLY?!?!?!? These “grown” people are taking turns telling 45 how “great” he is?!?!?! Reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode where people in the town complimented the little boy, no matter what he did, for fear of being wished away to the cornfield — to be lost forever. Has 45 threatened to wish his cabinet way to the cornfield if they don’t say nice things about him?

If they had any respect, it should all be lost at this point. I agree,CEB. I can’t feel sorry for them.

Ivanka being surprised at the viciousness of DC is a joke given that dear old dad has been and is at the front of the pack doling it out. Did they expect to be immune from it? I’m hoping that by the time all the investigations are done, Karma will serve what they deserve; that their actions will come back and smack them in the face 100 fold.

I was listening to Paul Mooney on youtube the other day. The tape was made shortly after 9/11 I think, anyway Mooney talks about selling out your country. He talks about Americans selling secrets to foreign countries, and how some Americans are so quick to sell out their country. He talks about how easily white people will sell out their country versus black people selling out their country. He talks about black people being loyal almost to a fault, and then he goes on to talk about how white people after being afforded very advantage there is, will still go and sell out their country, all the way from Benedict Arnold to Aldrich Ames to Eric Snowden to Chelsea Manning to Reality Winner. I just thought Mooney made a very interesting observation between the black and white mindset.

Just goes to show you where Trump mindset is, innocent people don’t go around musing about testify under oath. It is safe to say that the last President that maybe mused about testifying under oath was Nixon. I think the pressure is getting to Trump, I think very soon this guy is going to be joking about when is he going to get subpoenaed.

Spicer has become an SNL version of himself. He repeats and acts after his SNL character. For someone to continue to serve 45 among such embarrassment and in a sea of lies, one must be either totally ignorant and clueless, ,or infatuated with the man. Spicer barely speaks English, and yet the poor man is tasked with translating the very clear but embarrassing messages of his boss all the time.

A federal judge in Atlanta has ordered the government to reinstate a temporary reprieve from deportation for Jessica Colotl, a Norcross woman whose 2010 arrest in Georgia sparked a national debate over illegal immigration.

In the 33-page temporary restraining order he issued against the government Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Cohen wrote federal immigration authorities have “failed to present any evidence that they complied with their own administrative processes and procedures” in terminating Colotl’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status.

“Counsel for defendants was unable to provide the court the actual reason for the decisions to terminate plaintiff’s DACA status and deny her renewal application,” Cohen added.
