    It’s not just THOSE 2 senators! The Gov. of AZ has declared an opioid emergency. If Flake and/or McCain for to take healthcare away it will only get much, much worse.

    I just sent an email to my Gov and asked that he call Flake and McCain to say NO to the AHCA..he has said that we have an opioid crisis that needs to be cared about. If he is serious, then he needs to be against anything that would stand in the way of helping these people. We shall see if I hear back!

    With this move to dismantle the change in our relationship in Cuba that took years, a president, a pope, and countless officials to achieve, it is more and more evident that the only thing that motivates 45 is his desire to destroy everything that PBO did. His feelings of humiliation from the 2011 WHCD and the fact that PBO ignored him as well as his jealousy of the president’s popularity no matter what he and the msm did, are the reasons why he is willing to hurt millions here and around the world. An ego that consumes everything and everyone but is still not fed enough. In the end, it will be this unfettered ego that will bring about his downfall and that of the swamp rats who surround him.

    Here is the content of the Senate Trumpcare version they want to pass. As per usual we have been lied to again. This is simply a rehash of the House version of Trumpcare. Spread it around so people can discuss it when they call. This comes from Andy Slavitt, the project manager for the ACA under Pres. Obama.

      That should go without saying, and to hell with it: The Dems should grab any and every opportunity to point out the relative NOTHINGBURGER that was used to impeach Clinton, as well as the bullshit that had the GOP using the mic to put the idea out there for PBO.

    I have had a nagging and recurring thought about the weakening of America via the sickening of America. If Americans are not able to afford and have access to healthcare, they will become desperate and sick and we will become more vulnerable as a nation….I am thinking of Russia. If the head of the Dept. of Ed has plans to take from the Dept and make sure that education is for the few, this makes us weaker and less about to know how to think critically in needful, stressful times.

    If the EPA is not held accountable and we have someone in charge that is a climate change denier, this makes us weaker and sicker as a country…

    If we have an entire political party that is willing to take the basic right of good health away from the citizens of the country, we have problem. We will have a sicker, weaker, more desperate and a more easily led astray group of people, willing to do just about anything to save themselves or their family member. This is a terrifying scenario to me. Think of the implications…even far beyond what I’ve mentioned. Stay woke. Stay engaged.

    • June 10, 2017 at 10:55 am

      df, your legitimate concern is well stated and thoughtful. What you have written is not just a scenario, it is currently happening throughout the world, including parts of the United States.

      I know that they are relieved to have a chance to do the real work for justice that they did under Holder, Lynch and other directors who took the job seriously. He will have a stellar line-up who know where all the bodies are and will help him to dig them up. I know that the day to day, indeed hour to hour news about how the country is being destroyed and the worst elements of it given supremacy, but there are all types of groups investigating, working on law suits, leaking vital information that is underpinning the overt work of resistance. Think how methodical PBO and his team were, so much so that 45 has not been able to dismantle things as easily as he thought. Those who are working behind the scenes to use the law to bring down the deplorables in charge will be just as methodical. Those working on our behalf are much smarter and do what they do out of a higher calling, Those on the other side are motivated by ego, greed, fear and hate, traits that historically, bring about their own destruction and sooner than many thought. Just a look at the history of our my lifetime (post baby boomer) gives me confidence to know that this reign of terror will be brief because there is nothing to sustain it in the long run.

    many points were raised during Director Comey’s testimony.

    I found it very intriguing is that Director Comey stated that he spent an hour or more talking with PBO about the issue of race.

    Director Comey seemed to imply that this was the longest one-on-one conversation he had with PBO.

    I thought this comment would be of some interest to people who are concerned about race relations and especially in the context of law enforcement.

    I may have missed it but I do not recall anyone following up on that part of the testimony.

    ….. of course I know that there are many other issues that arose out of the testimony;

    …… but personally this was an issue I thought could get more discussion given the current importance of the debate (and changes happening) on race relations in the context of law enforcement.

      Yes, I remembered when Comey stated that this was their longest conversation, and at the time, it struck me as a very interesting point – one that probably would not get a lot of attention due to the current circumstances. But glad others are noticing as well…
