I agree with Ben the AHCA is a much bigger story than Comey and is being ignored…
We are phone banking into Nevada to ask voters to Call Heller’s office. If you have a computer or tablet and a cell phone you can make these calls from home. If you are an OFA team in CA or anywhere in the west you can request usernames and passwords so your team can make these calls.
Regardless of what happens with Trump Heller was quoted today as being OK with the Senate version of the AHCA. He needs to hear major pushback from his constitutents and that means we need to call Nevada voters and remind them how much their calls matter. We also need to remind Heller he is up for re-election and the people in Nevada are watching what he does.
(THREAD) The GOP falsely says today was a win for Trump. In fact, here are some of the BOMBSHELLS that emerged from James Comey's testimony. pic.twitter.com/5qg9Mrgpcp
House Republicans made headway on President Donald Trump’s pledge to dismantle post-crisis financial rules by approving a sweeping bill Thursday that rips up major aspects of the Dodd-Frank Act.
House lawmakers approved the legislation in a 233-to-186 vote. But the bill — called the Financial Choice Act — has little chance of passing the Senate in its current form.
Senate Democrats, whose votes will probably be needed to adopt it, have repeatedly said they have little interest in revisiting Obama-era constraints on Wall Street that were meant to make the financial system safer. Another issue: Republicans are distracted by more pressing topics such as health care and taxes.
Comey said he met with PBO only twice during #Forever44’s administration, once for a lengthy (more than a hour on law enforcement reform) and again late last year for PBO to say farewell.
With the Christmas tree in the background, seems likely that PBO was no doubt singing PBO’s praises as his farewell, and that’s probably why Comey is sitting (don’t know why everyone else is standing, though).
Don't just call Congress—recruit callers. Type "Friends in Tennessee" into Facebook. You'll get a list. Ask 'em to call Sen. Alexander. 15/ pic.twitter.com/wqIJom1Qs6
Henry II vs. Beckett; “Who will rid me of this mettlesome priest” and the king’s followers killed him in his own church. One of the most famous Church vs State episodes in Western History (a lay priest had done wrong, Henry wanted him brought before secular judgement, but Beckett wanted him tried in an ecclesiastical court. The movie A Man for All Seasons was based on this. I see little in the Trump/Comey mess that would fit this situation, especially since Henry regretted what had happened and supposedly wore a hair shirt underneath his clothes for years as a penance. Further, the two men had respect for each other even though they disagreed at times. Trump has no ability to feel regret about anything; he feels vindicated by today’s event and is probably drinking champagne and celebrating.
Our Donna (@NoShock) is in the DC area, but @Donna_West is in Las Vegas (her Twitter handle used to be something like “Dog Lovers for Obama” or something to that effect).
Not sure if that one was broadcasted. Last I had heard, Handel did not want to do another debate after the WSB one, while Ossoff had agreed to about 4 or 5 more. I guess the career politician had to step up and do at least one more. And I agree; I hope he gets another bump and that his grassroots organization can GOTV. I wonder how early voting is going.

i think that people are kidding themselves when they claim that what they witnessed during today’s hearing “vindicates” ….. anyone or puts an end to any part of the investigation;
today was just a contribution to the investigation and it is only Special Counsel Robert Mueller who will settle the issue the matters one way or another;
Yes, we are on a long, uncertain road to the truth. No wins until everything is out and people lose their positions and/or go to jail. There were no slam dunks from today’s testimony for either side.
We’re living through all the 1984/Big Brother/Hunger Games scenario now in DC, with a moronic jackbooted authoritarian at the helm, demanding such behavior from his soldiers (i.e., John Faso R-NY).
That he and the rest of the craven criminals think that this destruction of lives and a civilized society is something to be proud of makes me sick. They are hurting even the people who sent them to DC; how can these people be so wicked and heartless. What in the world motivates them to be so? Our taxes are supposed to ensure the public good, not be a piggy bank for special interests to dip in and to buy armament that the military does not want. Why pay federal taxes at all if they are not to be used for the common good? I have to work everyday to keep hate out of my heart and to have an even temperament.
Paul Ryan is simply too awful to be believed, but like the rest of the GOP, he gets only praises and passes from MSM.
Wish we had responsible reporting that would tie actual facts together (i.e., trickle down doesn’t work, cutting taxes for the wealthy doesn’t work, that the global financial meltdown actually *did* happen less than a decade ago).
Paul Ryan was Sam Brownback's legislative director. He learned to fail at governing from the best.
something else that is nagging at the back of my mind is this:

even the punditry and MSM are focused on Director Comey;
;
what it feels to me is that Director Comey recognizes this and is ready to assume that role;
;
I think that Director Comey will get help from people who have a professional law-enforcement background;
;
by doing so, Director Comey is creating space for Special Counsel Mueller and his team of investigators to do their job away from the prying eyes of the media;
;
may be I have watched so many movies but I get the imagery of the aristocrats who engage in hunting Fox and Hounds or a team of law enforcement people who try to break into a house to retrieve a suspect;

one day, the real danger will reveal who it has been focusing on;

We must be vigilant getting the Senate’s attention on confirmation for the new FBI director — who will hold this position long after many are living off their pensions or working for lobbying firms.
Russian ties (!) are bad enough, but MSM needs to give Senator Patrick Leahy a chance to remind Americans that Christopher Wray basically covered up torture in the GWB administration:

The fact that Christopher Wray works at King & Spalding does not necessarily mean than he’s Putin’s puppet (although it could).

Haven’t paid any attention to the Intercept/Reality Winner saga — just can’t wrap my head around the fact that this could be a real person — who in their right name would name their child Reality?
But heard this on @cbsradionews now — just like the affluenza teen, broadcasting #WhitePrivilege continues to be a thing…
I read somewhere that she changed her name arapahoe – so not the parents. What she has learned – if you are going to leak security data – don’t go to the intercept. 2/2 has Snowden stuck in Russia and this one stuck in jail.
Wapo meetings in basements a much better option.
With all the cloak and dagger going on in DC and its tentacles (thanks Karen Handel for imagery), hard for me to pay attention to lowlife Snowdenwald wannabes.
If what’s being reported is accurate, “Reality” Winner is as dumb as a box of rocks with a gift for language (but really, if she’s so delusional, who *knows* if what she interprets is true or not?).
Also, NSA needs to compartmentalize and not give contractors carte blanche access to things they don’t need to know — why would an interpreter have access to the stuff she allegedly had?
Beyond stupid white privilege in action (tweet sent day news broke):
A federal contractor whose name is allegedly #RealityWinner (?) used workplace computer to exchange emails w/ news outlet?#StopMakingSense
NSA needs to give up on contractors – they seem to be thick as bricks when it comes to sharing secrets. There are so many jobs that should never be given to to other than full time government employees – sadly right wing governments think its OK to pay contractors but not OK to pay employees. Some things past should come back and full time non partisan government employees are at the top of the list
Reality Leigh Winner, the suspect in the National Security Agency leak investigation, wrote in a notebook seized by authorities that she wanted to “burn the White House down,” federal prosecutors said Thursday.
She also has had a “persistent” desire to travel to Afghanistan and has researched technology that could be used to cover her digital tracks, the prosecutors said. And during a recent jailhouse phone call to her mother, Winner discussed some “documents,” raising concerns among federal authorities that she might have gathered other top-secret information that has not yet been disclosed.
Don’t have bandwidth for Miss LooneyTunes — as 99ts mentioned, she changed her name to “Reality” — and she’s obviously the complete opposite (just like DJT — whatever comes out of his mouth or from his tweeting fingers is 180 from “reality”).
Anyone stupid enough to use NSA computers to steal and distribute classified materials deserves what she gets.

Makes me smile because many teachers have a performance quality to their instruction (I used a hip-hop rhythm to teach my students to memorize the opening lines of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales in Middle English) even though many of us consider ourselves to be shy.
It sure does swbluega – this is why Trump won – he simply lies about people and personally attacks them – as he is now doing with Comey. The GOP does it with everyone. There is a MAJOR difference between the two parties – the dems do not do this.
Yes! I just tweeted a few minutes ago if people watch nothing else, they must watch her segment on Morning Joe. It was amazing. She seems to believe the president is unfit and said so. I think Trump qualifies for an A25Sec4 removal.
Couple of funny remarks where she misspoke but perhaps said the right thing 🙂
She hit it over the White house wall when talking about that first meeting with Trump. I’ve not seen her speak very often but this was spectacular and to the point.
Dem Jon Ossoff and Repug Karen Handel squared off in the 2nd debate for the special election for congressional district GA06 yesterday morning. It aired last night. I haven’t seen it yet but apparently Ms. Handel gave the audience another juicy gaffe to chew on at the end of the event. That’s two debates two fun gaffes that reveal who she really. This one is Georgia’s own Sarah Palin, only meaner, if that’s possible.
Dir Comey showed much courage to do what he did. The administration is doing anything and everything to discredit him – I doubt they will succeed but he will take some losses in the mash up.
1. Very succinct summary of the incoherence of Trump's position. Comey can't be both a habitual liar and a source of vindication https://t.co/IcRQgbAuNo
At some pt people will look back and wonder what all the mustard, beer summit, bowing, tan suit, "radical Islam" breathless coverage was abt https://t.co/SwD7HQPK6M
Bingo (from the article):
“In return for Gianforte’s apology and his charitable donation, Jacobs agreed not to bring civil action against the congressman-elect.
Jacobs, at Gianforte’s request, also sent an email to Lambert, saying he would not object to Gianforte pleading no contest to misdemeanor assault, according to a release of liability document signed by Jacobs.”
Lone voice of dissent, apparently:
I don't think this merits praise. It was clearly negotiated through lawyers; Gianforte was vulnerable, having assaulted and defamed a guy. https://t.co/Iecna4TfRe
Are these “professionals” that 45 surrounds himself with ready for retirement or something?!?!?!?!? They have little or no care for their reputations or careers.
A Nothingburger. However, while they thought you were distracted with the shiny things…the Republicans were very busy trying to take away consumer protections and making it more likely we have another financial meltdown…because Wall St. is their Master.
Frivolous distraction. No violation of DOJ rules in him sharing convo, & Comey wasn't acting as an attorney, so no atty-client privilege. https://t.co/RLZbFwYpLv
That and their continued movement with AHCA… after all the moaning that they didn’t have the votes…nothing will happen with this before next year…all the while they’re in their back rooms “secretly” plotting to push something through, if for no other reason to say that they did it.
Quite the story from Nancy Pelosi about her first meeting with Trump—and his insistence that he won the popular vote. (via @Morning_Joe) pic.twitter.com/xvmCmJA6el
He can file, but that is as far as it will go. All of them still think that they are dealing with contractors they cheated and women/girls they abused who can be intimidated. 45 is a public servant, and the rules are different.

Under the heading of “Too late, but better than nothing,” I noticed in a NYT article by Peter Baker re: Comey’s hearing, that he never refers to 45 as president; it is always Mr.Trump or Trump. He mentions Nixon, Bush 43, Regan, and Clinton who all get a Mr. in front of their names at one point, but then only referred to by the last name. The only one to whom he gives the honorific of President, is our PBO. He does not even put “former” or “ex” in front of it either.” President Barack Obama” really stands out from the page (mentioned as one president who had been respected by Comey and one who had not this kind of scandal). They knew who and what PBO was and is, a bold, effective, respected leader and a man of integrity for the whole 8 years that they covered him, but they chose to treat him with disrespect. PBO does not need, nor is he looking for their too late goodwill. He is off free, living large, and respected world-wide, while they stew in regret and longing.
Trying to get your Justice Department to investigate a private citizen for releasing his own unclassified notes is abuse of power 101. https://t.co/wyB7oTC6J8
Even though we are probably far from indictments, etc., at least more and more people are speaking out and telling what they know and what they feel about 45 and the Keystone Kops that surround him. More are speaking in open forums and the more they do so, the more enraged and intemperate 45 will be. He will be so busy plotting revenge and trying to have rallies to build his crumbling self-esteem that he will be able to do less damage to the rest of us.

They REALLY don’t understand the position they’re in.
They think Comey is one of the contractors that they can just sue until they give up.
This is his personal attorney, and this has been his MO.
They REALLY do think that they can do this.
They don’t understand that this is a whole other ballgame.
Comey’s not some subcontractor.
And, he’s not playing with you.
Yes plaintiffs in #CurlingvKemp clearly showed GA's election system is out of certification and therefore illegal to conduct elections. Yes. https://t.co/TpY3ThTtgw

NSA needs to give up on contractors – they seem to be thick as bricks when it comes to sharing secrets. There are so many jobs that should never be given to to other than full time government employees – sadly right wing governments think its OK to pay contractors but not OK to pay employees. Some things past should come back and full time non partisan government employees are at the top of the list
Good Morning, arapaho415….also saw this little nugget this morning.

“No bond for NSA leak suspect who wrote of wanting to ‘burn the White House down’”
http://www.ajc.com/news/breaking-news/bond-for-nsa-leak-suspect-who-wrote-wanting-burn-the-white-house-down/Hc90QNwOEXEh0pPa6h4XhO/
Just saw this — this tweeter has only 242 followers, yet this tweet has more than 1,400 RTs, 7,300 likes. 😀
The world is hungering for #Forever44…
🙂
Good Friday, TOD Family!!!
For me, this was a great audition that was enjoyable to watch…smile worthy.
Makes me smile because many teachers have a performance quality to their instruction (I used a hip-hop rhythm to teach my students to memorize the opening lines of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales in Middle English) even though many of us consider ourselves to be shy.
It’s teachers like you that make/made learning fun. You are the ones that students appreciate and remember in their adult years.
Thanks much.
John Dingell is a hoot!
FANTASTIC!!!!
Handel went down since earlier this week…Ossoff went up. 🙂
They HAVE to use personal attacks – they would win NOTHING based on truth and facts
But sadly, it’s worked for them often enough in the past and is something they are comfortable with doing.
It sure does swbluega – this is why Trump won – he simply lies about people and personally attacks them – as he is now doing with Comey. The GOP does it with everyone. There is a MAJOR difference between the two parties – the dems do not do this.
He’s baaaaaaaaaaack
Nancy Pelosi – the first thing he said at the first meeting of the congress leaders “I won the popular vote”
He doesn’t know what the truth is.
Which is why he thinks Comey’s testimony vindicated him. SMH
Sorry for my post below. Didn’t see yours up here. 🙃
I do it a lot myself. Positive news worth repeating. 🙂
😊
2 hours later, I realize I posted the wrong Bradd Jaffy tweet. 😳
This is what I meant to post:
The headline should be
Trump is a liar.
Co-signing.
Yep! 😆
Nancy Pelosi is hitting it out of the park on Morning Joke show
Compliment to John Dingell tweet above…
Dem Jon Ossoff and Repug Karen Handel squared off in the 2nd debate for the special election for congressional district GA06 yesterday morning. It aired last night. I haven’t seen it yet but apparently Ms. Handel gave the audience another juicy gaffe to chew on at the end of the event. That’s two debates two fun gaffes that reveal who she really. This one is Georgia’s own Sarah Palin, only meaner, if that’s possible.
You can see the whole debate here (apparently it was more contentious than Tuesday’s debate):

Here’s the nugget from Tuesday:
Her full answer with the “livable wage” gaffe is in here:
Ha! Of course, someone’s already created a Twitter account off the “tentacles” gaffe. 😆
😀 😀 😀
“…you’re acting like he can learn…”
Funny comments under this one! 😆
Still too close in my opinion, but good news nonetheless.
Wow, didn’t know this.
Great photo, by the way.
Having to sit amid that media scum!
Dir Comey showed much courage to do what he did. The administration is doing anything and everything to discredit him – I doubt they will succeed but he will take some losses in the mash up.
Judd, on point!
Kenny Mack nailed it!
Incredible! This explains the “sincere apology and donation that came out the other day. SMH
GM Dudette, good to see you back in form!
Hiya arapaho! Good to see you too!
This whole thing makes me so mad I haven’t been able to talk about it. Not sure how we will handle this here.
Nice to see social progress happening somewhere
Are these “professionals” that 45 surrounds himself with ready for retirement or something?!?!?!?!? They have little or no care for their reputations or careers.
A Nothingburger. However, while they thought you were distracted with the shiny things…the Republicans were very busy trying to take away consumer protections and making it more likely we have another financial meltdown…because Wall St. is their Master.
That and their continued movement with AHCA… after all the moaning that they didn’t have the votes…nothing will happen with this before next year…all the while they’re in their back rooms “secretly” plotting to push something through, if for no other reason to say that they did it.
Hmmm…
Admitting that he’s not ready for prime time in a job that requires you to be ready for prime time.
It also validates everything Comey said – while Trump is still denying . Ryan is tied so closely to trump – it will hopefully bring him down.
This is our NANCY SMASH. Always straight to the heart of the matter. Love her.
Wonder if he’ll tweet a response to this….
Oh, his family will go ballistic. That must have been some guest appearance today!
Good Morning Everybody.
Oh man….
Gee…wonder why????
LOL!
He can file, but that is as far as it will go. All of them still think that they are dealing with contractors they cheated and women/girls they abused who can be intimidated. 45 is a public servant, and the rules are different.

Comey testimony fortifies Trump obstruction case
Rachel Maddow looks at how former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony in the Senate raised questions about A.G. Jeff Sessions, and created a serious obstruction of justice evidence problem for Donald Trump.

Largely corroborated report under fire at Comey hearing
Rachel Maddow shows how a New York Times story criticized as false by James Comey is largely corroborated by other news outlets’ reporting as well as Senate testimony by former DNI James Clapper. So what is he saying they got wrong?

Chelsea Manning, the transgender U.S. Army soldier who served seven years in prison for leaking classified data, tearfully thanked former President Barack Obama for granting her clemency.
In excerpts of an interview aired on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday, Manning said she had not spoken to Obama since he commuted her sentence five months ago, but that if she could, she would tell him how grateful she was.
Here’s video:
Thanks!
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT REPUBLICANS AND AHCA. SHARE. WOW
Polite word for stupid
Moron
ICYMI – Note how she begins with her first question given what we’ve subsequently learned about a 3rd meeting between Sessions and the Russians.
I asked about the photographer was of that terrific photo from the Comey hearing. Got an answer. Don’tcha just love The Twittah?
Check out Andy Harnik’s gallery. Some really outstanding work there.

THIS
Curling v Kemp
Crosscheck is the Kris Kobach software that is responsible purging voters from the polls.
There seems to be conflicting info on whether Georgia uses. Wouldn’t put it past out piece of crap Sec of State Brian Kemp to lie.
Further down the rabbit hole:
As you know Kris Kobach – Mr. Voter Suppression himself – was tapped to be on Trump’s fake ass commission to investigate voter fraud.
Guess who’s running for Gov of Kansas?
Update on Crosscheck use in Georgia
