    Isn’t the ultimate release from the current disastrous wrecking ball tactiticians in the WH, to invalidate the election results by verifying Russian interference and hacking, and therefore reversing everything that has gone down to date? I still feel very nervous (as in sick to my stomach) to think the GOP could hold onto both houses and the WH, despite everything. Cheating is cheating, stealing is stealing, they did NOT win. As a nation, we as a planet of souls in human bodies, not to mention all of nature, all wild creatures, open spaces, the oceans and rivers, absolutely do not have the luxury of squandering any more time playing the games of these very selfish, ignorant people. I feel such a sense of urgency, it grows stronger as the hours pass.

      Remember, one of their main goals is to punish liberals/progressives, to make us so miserable that we hate our lives so that we can be like them. Take heart by knowing that you are not alone in the fight to reclaim and to renew the soul of the nation. This last stupid, useless act, has isolated him and the wrecking crew, not the majority of us. World leaders and many of their citizens know that there is a difference between the Ugly American in Chief and his enablers and the rest of us. They are sending us encouragement and assuring us that they will work with cities, states, and businesses in tackling climate change. The world has seen our protests and they have joined us. Remember, there are more of us than there are of them, we have shaken out of our complacency and are working in small and large ways to resist and bring about change. Hang in there.

      The Special Counsel’s investigation is criminal espionage investigation which involves the Trump campaign, administration, the RNC and the GOP House and Senate members. This is a BIG DEAL and the investigation seems to be proceeding very rapidly. While many think Trump will remain in office for at least two years, I think he’ll be gone this year and will be taking a large swath of the GOP with him. This is a BIG PHUCKING DEAL.

      They are attempting to normalize Putin, imo… I did not watch the interview- but all the photos I’ve seen show Megyn Kelly & Putin- smiling, connecting. I would not be surprised if Putin isn’t invited to the White House in the very near future. The fact that this murdering, election rigging, dictator is being given any kind of platform within the US media after what we know he has done- is not normal. It is wrong.

    If it were possible that no one and no other areas would be impacted, I would hope for a direct strike to Mar-a-Lago. But then, of course, federal funds would be available without delay.

  7. June 3, 2017 at 7:54 am

    I had wondered if 45 could do this, and if so, to what degree. He has made it difficult to invoke executive privilege given all his tweets about tapes and letters with “three times asked/told”… he opened the door. Plus, firing Comey makes him a private citizen so aside from classified information, what are the limitations to his testimony?

    But legal experts have said that Mr. Trump has a weak case to invoke executive privilege because he has publicly addressed his conversations with Mr. Comey, and any such move could carry serious political risks.

    On Friday evening, House Democrats sent a letter to the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, saying there was no case for the president to exert the privilege on Mr. Comey.

    Invoking executive privilege can be a politically treacherous move, recalling past scandals like Watergate, in which President Richard M. Nixon asserted the power in efforts to block congressional investigations…

    residents have often moved to keep their records and other communications with senior officials private until they leave office, on the theory that confidentiality is crucial to their ability to receive unvarnished advice on sensitive matters. But seeking a restraining order barring testimony by Mr. Comey, who is now a private citizen, would be unprecedented.

      Loose lips and all that….

  8. June 3, 2017 at 8:12 am

    Sounds more and more like 45’s decision to pull US out of Paris Agreement was more a retaliation against Macron/France for hurting him little feelings than him having a legitimate reason to do so. No thought or discussion about climate change in coming to this conclusion. And oh yes, it reverses something else from the previous administration.

    I wonder if, in his arrogance, he actually thought the other countries would kowtow to his demands for renegotiation. Maybe, if approached in the right way or by the right person, they might have considered it. But his lack of diplomacy, his ego, and his air of superiority killed any goodwill that may have been extended.

    I’m hoping that there is willingness to work with state/local governments, businesses and individuals who are committed to the terms of the Paris Climate Accord.

    It seems that we are on the verge of a 21st century civil war to save our union and our planet. We have been on a wild ride since the turn of the century and it will continue until we remake ourselves into a nation which is really “with liberty and justice for all” in which “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are not just words on dusty documents that benefit only a few. I stopped being fearful or depressed weeks ago because the resistance is coming from all sides, because more people see what is really going on in this country, how we have been used, played, kept down economically and socially by the wealthy and their GOP lackeys. White people who thought we were post-racial are now realizing more and more the reality of what it means to be a racial, ethnic, or religious minority in this country. We were never that “city on a hill” whose light beckoned and welcomed all. The USA has been an ideal, we are now working to make it a reality. These awful months have shown all just how fragile our republic is, how our ideas that we are a nation of laws are subverted those in the highest positions in the land. We have learned that millions of us can feel helpless like those in other authoritarian states. But as in every situation, we have to really understand and to acknowledge the problems before we can solve them and we have begun to do so. Ignorance and complacency are over, helplessness is over and the truth will set us free. Today is the March for Truth and I hope and pray that many will know it, receive it, be enlightened by it and use its flames as light and energy as we work to create a new nation that truly reflects our best ideals. Yes, we can.

    To Be Great, America Must Be Good – By Susan Rice

    By SUSAN E. RICE JUNE 2, 2017

    WASHINGTON — Four and a half months is not long, but President Trump has accomplished an extraordinary amount in a short time. With shocking speed, he has wreaked havoc: hobbling our core alliances, jettisoning American values and abdicating United States leadership of the world. That’s a whole lot of winning — for Russia and China.

    This work began promptly on Jan. 23, when the United States withdrew from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, leaving key allies empty-handed, fearful of the strategic benefit that will inevitably accrue to China. Then the secretary of state made plain that American values now take a back seat to security interests, even though those interests are enhanced by our partnerships with democracies that respect human rights and undermined by regimes that repress their citizens. Witness the brutal crackdown on opposition elements in Egypt and Bahrain after President Trump told their leaders that the United States no longer cares how they treat their people.

    The president’s budget would slash funding for the United States Agency for International Development and the State Department by nearly 30 percent, rendering our embassies vulnerable to attack and shuttering vital programs that advance our interests. The budget would also starve the United Nations and its peacekeeping operations of essential support. This will condemn the United States to pariah status at this important, if flawed, institution, where our leadership has been unrivaled.

    At NATO, the president’s reckless refusal to reaffirm our commitment to the defense of our allies under Article 5, while hectoring them publicly about their military spending, made our allies conclude they must go it alone. Nothing could have thrilled President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia more, or done more damage to the strength and unity of the Western world. And now the president has pulled the United States out of the Paris climate agreement, putting us at odds with virtually the entire world. Europe and China stand together on the Paris accord, while the United States is isolated.

    one thing that is clear to anyone paying attention to the homegrown demagogue is that he cannot keep his mouth shut;

    I have been surprised that the media, punditry, and investigative reporter have not yet picked up on what scumbag#45 said about couriers during the campaign.

    I recall that at the time people made fun of it but I think scumbag#45 was being careless and alluding to his style of operation;

    I hope that the FBI and other espionage investigators are paying close attention to the role of couriers;

    I hope that journalists need to replay these tapes;

    I believe that apart from negotiating deals between putin and scumbag#45, the people close to him also served as couriers;

    what may appear as perplexing roles of some people in this #TrumpRussiaScandal could be explained if one thought of them as couriers;

    i may be onto something because when I sent out this tweet, one person liked it within 15 seconds and it is Mr. Malcom Nance;

    Woke up wondering why all these millionaires who love Russia so much I don’t just take their ill-gotten gains and go live there? And why for years old snowdenski begged to come ‘home’.. and why do so many Russian oligarchs live in London, and NYC, and florida? If Russia is so great, why do they need to steal other countries? Maybe a stupid question. We have a number of retirement age people from Russia here in our building. They certainly are not wealthy. Some fled Russia years ago, fear for their friends and family who still live there. One woman I am friends with told me months ago she only hoped there might be a better life for the Russian people. President Bannon wants to destroy America, as long as his own greedy fat ass is comfortable and does not have to suffer loss and want. May he enjoy his life sentence, in whatever prison it is served.

    Naturally, commentators on Twitter seized on the opportunity to critique the article and offer their own thoughts on the most powerful Jewish women in America. Federal Reserve head Janet Yellen as well as Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan were frequently named.

    Others commenters criticized the choice because Trump is hardly self-made, having her Trump Organization title and White House position handed to her by her father. Besides, some noted, she’s not even powerful enough to convince her own dad not to do controversial things like yank the country out of the Paris climate accord.

      As political protests and civil disobedience reach their highest levels since the 1960s, 18 states have responded by proposing over 30 bills aimed at suppressing demonstrations by increasing and expanding penalties for protesters. A new law in Missouri prohibits protesters from covering their faces with masks or other disguises. Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and Iowa have introduced bills that call for increased penalties for blocking traffic and demonstrating on private property.

      The American Civil Liberties Union has called these new laws “unconstitutional,” vowing to “fight in statehouses against any bill that violates the First Amendment.”
