i have to wonder if his memo was to be made public or was it for internal use…

    • 45 idon
      May 19, 2017 at 4:16 pm

I think one of the challenges is to avoid conflating two issues. The INTERNAL memo was used as part of a criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice, e.g. the firing of Comey after he refused to shut down the Russia thing. However, there’s also another criminal conspiracy which Rosenstein implied in his INTERNAL memo. Comey under color of authority used the power of his office to interfere with the outcome of the election – public statements not to file criminal charges against HRC, the October 28th letter and subsequent statements about issues covered in the letter. If you listened to Comey’s most recent Senate testimony, it’s clear he lied under oath. Let me give you just one example. Comey said the current DOJ had given him permission to make the following public statement about the current FBI investigation . . . Then when asked why he did not follow the former DOJ’s directive he claimed it was the value he placed on his personal honesty. He also lied under oath about the details that led to reopening the case in his letter of October 28th.
Both Trump and Comey are in legal jeopardy.

The irony is that when Barack Obama became President, the expectation of many of his supporters was that he would wave a magic wand and miraculously, EVERYTHING would be fixed. The child-president SAID that when he became president, everything would be fixed because he is so wonderful and he alone can fix it. [We are not seeing that, nor do his supporters seem to expect more or care.]

So under 45, the hacking by foreign entities should be non-existent; right? Unless he, directly or indirectly, has something to do with it.

The danger here is that Russia continues to hack our systems and (IMO) the administration doesn’t seem to be taking it seriously. Is this hack on defense employees a way to surveil to ascertain loyalty and in doing so influence individual’s internet activity?

The hamlet has been extensively restored by Mr Phillips, who is of Italian ancestry and served as US ambassador in Rome from 2013 until earlier this year, after he bought it in 2001.

The estate lies not far from the wine-making town of Montalcino, famous for its Brunello reds, and about an hour’s drive from Florence.”

KOCH controls McConnell’s party along with the n.r.a.
To clarify our current situation, here are excerpts from DAVID KOCH’S Libertarian Party platform in 1980.
“We urge the repeal of federal campaign finance laws, and the immediate abolition of the despotic Federal Election Commission.”
“We favor the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.”
“We oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.”
“We also favor the deregulation of the medical insurance industry.”
“We favor the repeal of the fraudulent, virtually bankrupt, and increasingly oppressive Social Security system. Pending that repeal, participation in Social Security should be made voluntary.”
“We propose the abolition of the governmental Postal Service. The present system, in addition to being inefficient, encourages governmental surveillance of private correspondence. Pending abolition, we call for an end to the monopoly system and for allowing free competition in all aspects of postal service.”

    • May 19, 2017 at 2:02 pm

“We oppose all personal and corporate income taxation, including capital gains taxes.”
“We support the eventual repeal of all taxation.”
“As an interim measure, all criminal and civil sanctions against tax evasion should be terminated immediately.”
“We support repeal of all law which impede the ability of any person to find employment, such as minimum wage laws.”
“We advocate the complete separation of education and State. Government schools lead to the indoctrination of children and interfere with the free choice of individuals. Government ownership, operation, regulation, and subsidy of schools and colleges should be ended.”
“We condemn compulsory education laws … and we call for the immediate repeal of such laws.”
“We support the repeal of all taxes on the income or property of private schools, whether profit or non-profit.”
“We support the abolition of the Environmental Protection Agency.”
“We support abolition of the Department of Energy.”

    • May 19, 2017 at 2:02 pm

“We call for the dissolution of all government agencies concerned with transportation, including the Department of Transportation.”
“We demand the return of America’s railroad system to private ownership. We call for the privatization of the public roads and national highway system.”
“We specifically oppose laws requiring an individual to buy or use so-called “self-protection” equipment such as safety belts, air bags, or crash helmets.”
“We advocate the abolition of the Federal Aviation Administration.”
“We advocate the abolition of the Food and Drug Administration.”
“We support an end to all subsidies for child-bearing built into our present laws, including all welfare plans and the provision of tax-supported services for children.”

    • May 19, 2017 at 2:03 pm

“We oppose all government welfare, relief projects, and ‘aid to the poor’ programs. All these government programs are privacy-invading, paternalistic, demeaning, and inefficient. The proper source of help for such persons is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals.”
“We call for the privatization of the inland waterways, and of the distribution system that brings water to industry, agriculture and households.”
“We call for the repeal of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.”
“We call for the abolition of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.”
“We support the repeal of all state usury laws.”

Kushner’s call to Marilyn Hewson, Lockheed Martin’s Chief Executive Officer, was part of Kushner’s sell on a $110 billion arms deal ahead of the president’s visit to Saudi Arabia which begins Friday, the New York Times reported.

The Trump administration wants to herald the $110 billion deal as a symbol of America’s renewed commitment to Saudi Arabia, but officials who worked in President Barack Obama’s administration have said the procurement is similar to past arrangements with the Kingdom, including prior approval of weapons in the current package.

Arms sales to Saudi Arabia totaled $115 billion during Obama’s presidency, but Trump appears more amenable to Saudi interests than his predecessor, who pursued a nuclear deal that ended most sanctions against Iran, Saudi Arabia’s principal regional rival.

In March, the U.S. State Department informed Congress that it would proceed with a $5 billion sale of fighter jets to Bahrain, waiving concerns about the Gulf state’s human rights record that initially delayed the deal under the Obama administration.

My cousins son has been in a Angola prison in LA since he was in his 20’s and he is 44 yrs old. It so sad that he was put in prison for selling drugs across state lines. He was visiting his mother who moved to LA when he was 5 or 6yrs old. She comes back in town and ruins his life, takes him to LA, then he returns to CA messed up and into drugs. He served time in CA then was sent to LA to do that leg of the sentencing and they just kept him in prison for life. He might get out when he’s a sick old man that costs too much.

He is comfortable in his own skin so he can meet people genuinely and sincerely and engage wholeheartedly. He takes everything in deeply. “Now they see his clownish nature” and they are no longer afraid. The EU leaders can and will talk over his head and treat him with that superior continental politesse that thinly veils contempt. They will tell him home truths behind close doors to explain how alliances and treaties work. They know that he has nothing, is nothing, and is too self-absorbed to learn anything. He will not listen to his staff and will blunder about being the Ugly America. Crowds will protest him everywhere he goes and then he will return here sooner than planned to hide in the WH or on one of his golf resorts and stew about all of the mean people. Pete will troll him the entire time with photos of PBO’s first extended visit abroad and Karma will laugh in wicked glee. As much as it sucks for the rest of us that he is in the WH, you can guarantee that it sucks more for him.
Meanwhile, PBO and MO are in Tuscany and later in Germany, being feted, admired, cheered and having a wonderful, carefree time.

I must say that I was upset with Joe Biden to criticize Hillary Clinton. It made me very sad because he didn’t go high. We need to hold it together as a family if we are to be effective and Joe didn’t do that. This is the first time that AT&T wireless workers are on strike, which could result in closed retail stores during the weekend, according to the Communications Workers of America (CWA) union.

The workers are demanding wage increases that cover rising healthcare costs, job security against outsourcing, affordable healthcare and a fair scheduling policy.

The CWA had said on Wednesday that wireless workers across 36 states and Washington, D.C. would walk-off their jobs if an agreement was not reached by Friday 3 p.m. ET.

Wireline workers, who work in phone, landline and cable services businesses in California, Nevada, and Connecticut, and DirecTV technicians across California and Nevada have also joined the strike.
