Are the Republicans even listening to her or are they 1) discounting her because she is female, and 2) vilifying her and attempting to verbally assault and discredit her, NOT based on what she is actually saying, but based on their prepared talking points even though it contradicts her testimony?

She may be soft-spoken, but she is tough!!!

Women have long, detailed memories and we keep the receipts; do not come for AG Sally Yates, a long-time fierce warrior for justice, with your condescension and half-backed accusations. I am so damn tired of white men in suits trying to shut up, talk over, and dismiss women who are more capable and honest than they are.

These Republican cowards can run, but now they can’t hide. This is public info now, and cannot be denied. I am thinking this today is the beginning of the end. It will probably be slow, and will be painful, but, it is coming. Trump can’t hide from this.

It’s good that Yates testified and did so forcefully today but we still need to demand an independent investigation into Russia’s interference in our election. Republicans aren’t going to police their own. They’ve made it clear that they’re not interested in finding out the truth of how Trump won last November. And they really need to keep Ms. Rice’s name out of their filthy mouths.

I don’t recall seeing headlines on this from last week:

    From the article:

The New York Post plastered its story on the front page with a photo of an underwear-clad Weiner and the headline: ‘HARD COPY: Huma sent Weiner classified Hillary emails to print out.’ The Daily News went with a similar front-page screamer: ‘HUMA ERROR: Sent classified emails to sext maniac Weiner.’

The problem: Much of what Comey said about this was inaccurate. Now the FBI is trying to figure out what to do about it.

FBI officials have privately acknowledged that Comey misstated what Abedin did and what the FBI investigators found. On Monday, the FBI was said to be preparing to correct the record by sending a letter to Congress later this week. But that plan now appears on hold, with the bureau undecided about what to do.”

Anyone with more information, please advise.

Didn’t realize Comey made this claim last week…

Pres Obama is in Italy, the headline on this tweet from the newspaper La Repubblica says “It will be the young people to beat the populists.” He’s right about that. Especially in Europe the young people support the EU because they know their economic future depends on being able to move to where the jobs are.

Comey’s actions don’t make him easy to support or defend. But each time he is in the headlines, I think about one thing: should he be forced to resign, then the homegrown demagogues will nominate & push through someone who will NEVER even make a serious effort to get to the bottom of the Russian scandal. So team traitor will get off on everything. I always think about: “be careful what you wish for”. I hope that i am wrong

    • 117 globalcitizenlinda
      May 9, 2017 at 7:16 am

And this new FBI head would be holding the position for 10 years. That length of term would ensure that most gop corruption will not be considered a priority for prosecution

Did I just hear Condi suggest that (a) everyone should move on from examining the role of the WH & flynn as national security adviser bnow that McMaster is in charge (b) tillerson is a smart guy & knows what he is doing in state department (c)reducing the state department budget may not be too bad because it seems to have grown. May be I have misheard her on morning joe because it is still early. But if I didn’t hear wrong, then this would be another example of gop sticking together no matter what.

The “come back in Italy” phrasing on this last tweet makes me think that whoever composed that tweet for Seeds & Chips ({{{Chips!šŸ¤—}}}}) is a native Italian speaker. In that top tweet, the ” ‘nnamo da Baracco” looks like Roman slang to me, for “andiamo da Baracco” or “Let’s go to (see) Barack!” or “We’re going to Barack!”

If Bill R is around, maybe he knows if the Milanese also use a similar dialect style for “andiamo” (let’s go!).

Ahhh, an intelligent, thoughtful representative of our country on the world stage, once again! President Obama is making some very good points and speaking with both pragmatism and compassion! The orange elephant in the room for me and, I’m sure, the attendees as well, is that the current WH occupant is a corrupt buffoon.

While Karen Handel complains about making it easier for people to vote because voter registration was opened leading up to the June run-off…

There are so many ads in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District race that they are creating the news. Literally.

The tidal wave of spending led a local television broadcaster, WXIA, to temporarily add a 7 p.m. newscast on its sister station. Fans of ā€œThe Andy Griffith Showā€ repeats will have to look elsewhere for the next few weeks.

Why all the attention? Republicans have held the district, which spans from east Cobb County to north DeKalb County, for decades, and Tom Price won a string of landslide victories there every two years to maintain his grip on the seat. But when Donald Trump selected Price as his health secretary, the race to fill his congressional seat quickly turned into a nationally watched test of the president’s popularity.
