        GM DF.

        But of course…

Really enjoy my plants (especially in Spring — so much new growth, from dormant plants that are now budding).

The entire world now seems like a far-fetched spy novel, and our appalling “leaders” are among the greediest and least democratic on the face of the planet, so yeah, really appreciate life unaffected by monstrous human activity.

Our 44ever president has always been a “we” person, never a “me” or “I” person so you can expect him to say that the things that he accomplished were possible because of the dedication and the work the many that surrounded him. The only thing that I have ever heard him take credit for is his ability to see talent in others and to Foster it.

  15. May 6, 2017 at 7:53 am

Good morning all. Slept until almost 7:30!!!! I may do that three times in an entire year! 🙂 Was up at 5:00 yesterday to get husband and a friend off on a hiking trip. Yesterday I was a zombie and accomplished almost nothing so have lots and lot to do today.

Hope we all have a good day. ((((CHIPS)))) NW, thank you to infinity and beyond. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

The witch hunt against PBO continues. Rand Paul has now acused PBO of wiretapping him, other politicians, journalist and others. The republican wet dream is to see PBO dragged into a court, disgraced, and ruined. They just cannot get over the fact that a Black man is more successful, popular, beloved, and able to make more money post-presidency than they will ever be. Some asshole is even trying to go after his pension. The only thing that racist can abide is the complete subjugation of anyone who is not white, but especially Black men. This f**king clown in the white house is the one that the racists have been looking for because he is the gateway for them to push back at those who are rising despite everything that they have done to keep them down.

    • May 6, 2017 at 8:25 am

Every time one of them suggests that they have been wiretapped, they are also suggesting that there is a reason that they might have been wiretapped. Instead of investigating the accusations against PBO, there should be an investigation on the accuser. We may be surprised (or not) what may surface.

      May 6, 2017 at 9:01 am

      G’morning Ceb, Nerdy & TOD!

CEB I agree with you that these suckers are so jealous of PBO that it consumes them even more that he’s no longer in the WH and appears to be doing well post-presidency. Well, I say let them try. It will all backfire. No weapon formed against PBO will prosper. Rand Paul can go F- himself in the mean time.

      • 39 CEB
        May 6, 2017 at 9:10 am

” No weapon formed against PBO will prosper” was my prayer, mantra, and certainty when I read about this latest effort to smear him. Evil goes hard after good because it knows that no matter what it does, in the end, the good will prevail, justice and mercy will defeat injustice and greed, and our better angels will defeat our darker impulses.

      May 6, 2017 at 1:37 pm

      GA CEB.

As if we didn’t have enough reasons to despite that weasel Chaffetz, he was the one who suggested that PBO be denied his pension. In the age of tRump, GOPers *aren’t even trying to hide their racism behind dogwhistles.*

MSM twitter aficionados like to compare the ratio of replies to retweets and likes because replies often means the tweet prompted outrage from the reader. Chaffetz’ tweet has 13K replies and 1.7K retweets.

It’s all speculation and gossip now at this point, but:

    May 6, 2017 at 9:27 am

Every thing these Republicans do anti-Obama shows the power they give him. They do not realize it, but they are still running against him, when he is no longer president. He has moved on. They are stuck. They are pathologically jealous of him. They will try anything to bring him down, and in the process reveal their own inadequacies.

As an English teacher, I almost always find similarities in literature, and what this reminds me of is the play Othello. Iago, has a pathological jealousy of Othello, and his destruction of Othello has often been called a motiveless crime. The only motive is extreme jealousy. Iago works on Othello to make him believe his wife has been unfaithful, and leads Othello to kill his wife. Too late, Othello finds out the truth, and kills himself with his wife. I firmly believe these people hope that their actions will drive PBO to some rash act and then they can say “Aha, we told you so.”

His superiority and excellence are just something they cannot abide. They are in addition to their jealousy, stupid, because they cannot understand that he is not driven by the base drives they are. If any one of them had been attacked and vilified like he has been for eight years, they would have done something rash and blown up their lives entirely. They cannot believe he is still the same steady person he always was. tRump is absolutely eaten up with jealousy…….and he is vengeful, mean, capricious, vile, and, will, eventually, I think, blow up in some catastrophic way.

      May 6, 2017 at 9:54 am

Good morning, carolyn…and everyone:) I wholeheartedly agree with all you’ve written. I will add that because PBO has a deep understanding of who he is as a person, a man, a human being, and his moral and ethical responsibilities to those, he can rise above all this mindless, unsubstantiated bs. He is genuine, They are not…which is why they feel the need to do what they try to do to him…they react, he just is. There IS no getting at him from where they stand. Truly is a thing of beauty to watch them try….and the more they try, the more they reveal, for anyone willing to open their eyes, who THEY really are. It’s not pretty.

      May 6, 2017 at 10:20 am

Carolyn, that is a very astute analysis. President Obama’s childhood included growing up in different parts of the world, his world view is very different from that of your typical politician. President Obama’s motivations are different, he does fall victim to the usual political trappings that have undone lesser politicians.

    • 44 hopefruit2

      Excellent analysis Carolyn!!

“He has moved on. They are stuck. They are pathologically jealous of him. They will try anything to bring him down, and in the process reveal their own inadequacies.”

Although declared CANCER FREE for almost two years now [Thank You (Democratic) Jesus], for which they will continue to monitor him for three more years, my son now has several “pre-existing conditions” on that list – and he’s still undergoing treatment of some of the lesser ones. He had been self employed in 2015, then went into ACA and was redirected to Medicaid, which has been a godsend. We all know someone affected, I’m sure.

        GE JO’B.

I know that the legend that is NerdyW has opened a new thread, but it drives me up the wall that MSM “reports” on AHCA as if it were a sporting event.

In terms of money, the only “winners” are multi-millionaires. But everyone loses — AHCA makes it easier for insurance companies to screw their customers (which the GOP loves — they want to deregulate corporations to absolve them from any responsibility for the damage they do to the planet and the creatures living here).

And so many people are self-employed or work in businesses that don’t offer medical insurance.

I gave myself a morning mood lift by re-watching the final PEN interview with PBO and MO and the medal of freedom ceremony for our dear Joe. The love, respect, decency, humor, wisdom, dedication and so much more that they have shown us have inspired millions and will continue to do so in the future. They were simply themselves, and by being so gave us so many gifts. I especially loved the body language of our forever First Couple; how they sat so close together, their hands (his on her knee) clasped throughout the interview, how he is leaning on and in to her (she was sitting higher), how they watch each other as each speaks. So much open love, affection, respect, and admiration for each other that they have shown since we first met them, goes beyond them to warm all of us. I especially love Michelle’s words at the end when she serves notice on all of who her husband, our president is in an almost protective and fierce manner.
I also had tears in my eyes again when i watched VP Joseph R. Biden’s medal of freedom ceremony. His humility, his over-whelming feelings of gratitude, and the appreciation that so many have for all that he has done and all that he is, reminds any who watch that a life-long politician can be incorruptible and successful. All of the things that made these people and their service possible are still in the world and we need not fall into darkness, nor despair because of what is currently going on in our governing bodies and with too many of our citizens. That which is good and just won out before and it will again.

When you don’t have the common decency to provide your fellow man with a life preserve, life has a way of showing you the error of your ways. I do not wish bad things on my fellow man, but you should never operate under the assumption that bad things can’t happen to you. It was in the Republicans power to not repeal Obamacare. But they made a choice to take away health insurance from over 20 million people, and now they must live with that choice. I would not want to walk around with that hanging over my head, I’m funny that way.

The Police are now saying if you see a dog locked in a car in hot weather, take a picture of the dog and the car. If someone is with you, get them to bring up the weather for your area on their phone so you can screen shot the temp, then break the car window. This way, you will not be charged with criminal damage and it gives the police photo evidence to take the dog owners to court.

Great idea! It was 107 degrees here yesterday and it was ridiculously hot for this time of year. We broke the record. Animals DO NOT BELONG IN A HOT CAR IN THE SUMMER! LEAVE THEM HOME!

      • May 6, 2017 at 12:32 pm

Absolutely. My dogs are never left outside either. Because we have coyotes roaming around and owls in my area, they go in and out of a doggy door into an enclosed dog run to do their business. I even have a dog groomer that come to the house so that I know they are safe 24/7. Some people are just plain stupid.

107F in early May, really hate to see this.

SoCal temps have been on the warm side (80s where I am), but today is blissfully overcast, with a drizzle or two — hoping that #MayGray and #JuneGloom do their thing this year.

(The downside 😦 is that the reason for overcast skies here is because the desert heat draws ocean moisture inland for a few miles from the coast — no surprise that the majority of Californians live within 50 miles of the Pacific Ocean.)

My sibs and I were often left in the car; at various times there were 3-5 of us left there while parents finished grocery shopping or some other errand. No one thought anything of it (the 60’s to 70’s) at the time. We also never had a babysitter unless my parents were out of town, but we also lived in a small neighborhood where families looked out for one another. I am not sure if times were less dangerous or if it was just that crimes against children were not so widely published. Most kids rode their bikes around the neighborhood and played in the park with no adult supervision. Fast forward to the late 90’s through the years when my nephew (now 23) was growing up and he could barely breath without one of the women in the family counting every breath.

Haven’t even read the story, yet, but I chuckled. This Pope is like the king of the world’s resistance movement – he picks up on everything and comments on it, just to remind everybody he’s watching. Supposedly, 45 is stopping by the Vatican on his first golfing trip abroad, and I am so very much hoping the Pope makes other plans. However, I’m guessing he’ll decide, instead, to stay there and have a little word with the orange joker. Maybe take him to the inside-the-Vatican laundry room he’s set up for homeless people. Maybe invite him for chocolate cake with some local inmates. The sky is literally the limit, in these little dreams of mine. ❤

It’s ONLY in USA, since 2004…..when Kerry Lost to GWB due to OH that American Pollsters & Exit Polls became obsolete……No Longer dependable, accurate nor Believable.
The French do NOT have Cross Checks, Voter Purges, Voter Suppressions nor do they have Long Lines resulting in waiting hours that could stop Working Folks from Voting…..They do have Fair Elections. The Vote on Sundays. They also have receipts for Recount Purposes.
