I was thinking in reading your comment how much it means to know someone loves our President Obama. When I know that to be the case my heart opens up to a perfect stranger in a way that I find to be incredible. Its a kind of club of the heart that we belong to that means more than just about anything when gaging how we feel toward another, how much trust we bestow, etc. I guess I don’t need perfect, I don’t need much but I do need to know how someone sincerely feels about President Obama. If they throw him under the bus or use him as a foil in some way then my trust takes a hit, a big hit. Another thing about President Obama and Michelle, with the pull they have on our hearts they could raise up or diminish others, like Trump does, at a whim just because they have that kind of influence, but true to their character the Obamas never do that. They believe in respecting, empowering, and including and that means making up our own minds. God bless them. However, lots of people seem to misunderstand, it doesn’t work both ways. If someone decides to make hay by betraying the trust of the Obamas, mistreating them in plain view, then I say please proceed because you are making your own bed with people like me. Its because the Obamas don’t ever misuse their influence that I can be sure that mistreatment of them is never going to be okay with me. Never.

I agree with you. It hurts me to see people like Elizabeth Warren treat President Obama with such disrespect because of all that he did for her. Her lack of loyalty makes me feel that I can’t support her anymore, just like Bernie Sanders lost my respect, Alison Grimes, Van Jones, etc. whereas any of PBO’s former team NEVER diss him (Josh Earnest, Jon Favreau & Dan Pheiffer, Jon Lovett, etc. even Howard Dean treats him always with respect). Hillary also, once she worked with him, has never dissed him. It has become a standard on which I do judge others which may seem unfair, but I don’t care. The Obamas are worthy of my trust and have never let me down.

I feel the same; you have expressed the sentiment perfectly.

      • May 2, 2017 at 6:25 pm

“The Obamas never misuse their influence.” I think of Trump walking into the Whites House and both Obamas waited for Melania and walked with her, they’re hands on her back. President Obama may have talked sternly to his critics and the people who thwarted him, but he didn’t diminish then as humans, and he didn’t flatter and fawn. This is what had opponent on the right and left can’t understand. He is who he is, always guided by his North Star. Like you I tend to respond to people based on how they respond to the Obamas.

Six years ago tonight. Sunday, May 1, 2011. This was the 841st frame I made that day. I had taken the “Situation Room photo” some seven hours earlier. It was now after 11:00p.m. The President was making some final edits to his remarks to tell the nation that Osama bin Laden had been killed. As news began to leak on television, I changed my point of focus when I saw a video of bin Laden on the TV in the Outer Oval Office.

PBO’s Saturday that day: 1. play golf while mulling final decision; 2. Give the kill order; 3. Wipe the dining room floor with Donny boy at the WHCD. Fast forward to 2017; Donny whines that PBO is not taking his calls as he stews in ignorance and unhappiness in an office that he did not really want in a vain effort to get back at PBO. PBO: still winning.

It should not be true, what you wrote about Trump, but it is. Its so surreal that such a mature, competent person could be followed by such a messed up one that is obsessed with his predecessor. In some strange and round about, arch of the moral universe kind of way, President Obama’s quite fair teasing of Donald Trump has led to this moment and may in the end lead to the demise of many of the dirty tricks and cheating of the GOP that the President had to face during his administration.

        Thank you for responding.

MSM continues to prop up DJT and make excuses for everything he does to dismantle democracy with plutocratic oligarchic thugocracy.

MSM bends over backwards to say “nothing to see here, move along…” and defiantly declines to offer pushback to the loudest GOP liar who can get MSM attention.

MSM fails to see what you pointed out here on Mar 25:

“We now have Russian assets, agents, and spies in control of two branches of the federal government. the Executive and Legislative branches. This means when the FBI’s counterintelligence division executes their many many many warrants, most of Trump’s team if not all of them will be removed along with a significant number of GOP House members and US senators. It may also mean the arrests of some individuals in state government at the executive level. ”

Are we taking bets on whether MSM will wake up once the indictments come in?

One would think, in simply realistic terms, how these journos were privileged to interview President Obama, and actually learn something, (despite being stupid and sh*tty to him afterwards), now to sit facing a total lunatic whining and barely stringing words together to convey ANYTHING lucid, I’d imagine they must come away stunned and terrified. It would be even more beneficial to the planet if they were honest and principled enough to spell it out loud and clear, so even the dumbest among us would have to listen.
