      Thank you Nena.

Young’uns don’t remember how AWFUL double-digit inflation was.

When Carter left office, mortgage rates were at 21% APR, and I knew young couples who actually took what was offered to them–a reverse amortization mortgage, meaning as they made their monthly payments, their principal balance increased.

Treasury bills were paying high-teens interest — it’s great that we’ve got that under control now, but IMHO, a travesty that banks are paying less than 1% on FDIC insured savings (which is a pittance, looks like a rounding error on bank statements).

Before bank deregulation began in 1978, banks were required to pay at least 5% on regular savings — don’t think it would break the economy to have a similar requirement now…

But back in the good years, it was not disrespectful to simply use a surname, NO! They just did not have time to say a title since we all KNEW who they meant? But now with the toady-ing honorifics and breathless praise for not spilling his food and for showing up in shoes or signing a piece of paper. Certain titles and roles have gone on hiatus, in the worthy and blessed care of those who deserve them and beyond earned them and will carry them with glory and light forever and a day.

Maybe before he’s allowed to sign a bill or EO, he should have to summarize what’s in it to include the purpose, how it would be accomplished, the expected impact, the estimated cost, and how it would be paid for (where applicable). THEN he would have to answer follow up questions. If he is unable to show a basic AND detailed understanding of what he is signing, he should not be allowed to sign it.

In an interview with Face The Nation’s John Dickerson that aired Sunday, it appeared that President Donald Trump did not fully understand what was in the latest version of the Republican health care bill.

When Dickerson pushed Trump to acknowledge why there are critics of the bill, noting higher premiums for older people, Trump interrupted him to say that issue was fixed. Throughout the interview, Trump insisted that the latest version of the bill addressed all of the problems Dickerson mentioned, even though the bill has only become worse for low-income people, older people and people with pre-existing conditions.

When Dickerson asked Trump explain to how higher premiums were “fixed” under the new health care bill, he didn’t have an answer.

Trump has been rich all of his life. He never had to learn anything because he always had his pot of gold. He never had to care about anyone other than himself, his needs/wants/wishes. He is literally the perfect specimen for the likes of Putin because he lacks a conscience or integrity or character. And in fact he is literally the perfect President for the GOP who hate paying taxes- hate all “others”. He lies with such ease… he has ICE remove folks from the only home they’ve known… he uses our tax money to fund his “winter whitehouse”… he has his inept inexperienced no-nothing children playing at running our country… because he literally will do anything he can get away with. He has zero self control, zero morals, zero boundaries, zero love for anyone or anything but $.

Social media firms are “shamefully far” from tackling illegal and dangerous content, says a parliamentary report.

Hate speech, terror recruitment videos and sexual images of children all took too long to be removed, said the Home Affairs Select Committee report.

It called for a review of UK laws and stronger enforcement around illegal material.

And the government should consider making the sites pay to help police what people post, it said.

The cross-party committee took evidence from Facebook, Twitter and Google, the parent company of YouTube, for its report.

It said they had made efforts to tackle abuse and extremism on their platforms, but “nowhere near enough is being done”.

The committee said it had found “repeated examples of social media companies failing to remove illegal content when asked to do so”, including terrorist recruitment material, promotion of sexual abuse of children and incitement to racial hatred.

It said the largest firms were “big enough, rich enough and clever enough” to sort the problem out, and that it was “shameful” that they had failed to use the same ingenuity to protect public safety as they had to protect their own income.

The ethics office is an independent watchdog overseeing compliance of ethics rules inside the executive branch, and early on was a thorn in the side of the White House after raising alarm over President Trump’s refusal to divest from his business empire.

Since then, the OGE has been tasked with assisting the Trump Administration’s officials address any potential conflicts of interest so they’re able to serve in positions without creating the appearance of using public office for private gain.

But the New York Times reported in mid-April that in at least two instances, the Trump administration “secretly issued” waivers exempting officials from ethics rules. One case, as the New York Times reported, involved Trump’s top energy adviser Michael Catanzaro, who worked as a lobbyist on behalf of oil and gas companies until late last year before taking his current post where he advises on issues that would have a direct implication on his former clients.

Apparently there’s been “an atmosphere of paranoia and guardedness that has enveloped HUD since Trump’s inauguration,” …

In his first public remarks as head of HUD in early March, Carson tragically stumbled by referring to slaves as “immigrants.” On March 15, Carson began a “listening tour,” dipping his toes into public scrutiny by traveling to cities in Florida, Michigan and Texas to visit buildings and programs that HUD played a hand in creating. In several awkward cases, Carson has praised an initiative only to find out that Donald Trump’s budget blueprint would eliminate the programs that funded those very projects.

His trip to Texas wasn’t announced until hours before his first event, according to CityLab. Carson’s secrecy “may have something to do with the fact that Secretary Carson would rather not have to answer to the public and defend the outrageous budget cuts he and Donald Trump are trying to ram through Congress,” …

Trump’s proposal cuts $6.2 billion from HUD, or 13.2 percent of its annual budget, by slashing public housing support and development grants. The budget gets rid of the 42-year-old, $3 billion Community Development Block Grant program, the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, the Choice Neighborhoods program and the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program.

DNC needs to stop coddling this divisive & destructive b.s. and concentrate on the 50% of Americans who don’t vote. We will never placate the Naderites & the Bernie cult & I, for one, who vigorously supports Dems and worked tirelessly for PBO & HRC, am sick of being ignored by the DNC so BS can suck the life out of the party. He’s a big part of the reason Trump is in the WH. He never had any plans for his grandiose ideas, his numbers were utter nonsense. We don’t know who his donors are to his dark money PAC, and we never saw his taxes or last financial disclosure. What we do know is that as soon as there is cash available, he hires his family or funnels money to them. He’s a fraud. Enough, Tom Perez. You want to convince his supporters, fine. But they have never won elections for us, they cost us 2000, did damage in 2010 & 2014.

I’m listening to Stephanie Miller on Sirius XM and I just heard an ad for “Medishare” – Christian-based “medical expense sharing” that is “better than insurance(!) And the best part, because it’s Christian based, you don’t have to pay for anything that “goes against your beliefs.” Okay, waste your $$ on progressive radio, but this is terrifying (and I’m sure a scam).

So far, it’s only available in Montana, I think, and it’s “within the law.” Made it sound like any medical provider had to accept it (at least to the Ignorant, but it’s obviously not true.) Wow. Just wow.

I hadn’t heard of this yet. I’ll have to check it out. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a scam.

For you, your family, your friends and for the legacy of our Forever President. They must not succeed.

Every day it feels worse, every day a new insult to our intelligence and the survival of our country as a democracy.

Obama should ask no less than $1m for speaking fees. People are not worthy of this man.

We must admit and consider the longterm RussianBot and hacking effect per Sanders/Hillary.
Let’s not start it all up again. Dems MUST MUST MUST focus and unite. Putin and are media are NOT going to help us.

Agree. As much as I have no interest in Bernie, his “free everything” talk, and his followers, I would not waste my time on him because after all, and with exception of his incendiary attacks against the left, he votes mostly with Dems.

The focus should always be on the GOP and its detrimental effect on all of us and our bottom lines.

The only way to show decisiveness and boldness is to REPEAL everything his predecessor did.

The Trump administration is discontinuing a signature girls education initiative championed by former first lady Michelle Obama, according to officials.

The “Let Girls Learn” program, which she and President Barack Obama started in 2015 to facilitate educational opportunities for adolescent girls in developing countries, will cease operation immediately, according to an internal document obtained by CNN.

But not ‘honored’ to stop blatantly false attacks on the previous President of the United States.
This here is an Illegitimate president. Illegitimate CIC is no peace maker.
