Very Interesting & powerful video…but i must ask…why does Bernie get such prominence in the video and not Hillary…She Did win the DEM Primary…she Did win the popular vote…and Bernie is not a DEMocrat… this concerns me…how she is snuffed out…

This will always be an issue for me

At first I thought the same thing…I am not a fan of BS (either kind)…but he is still an elected official and she is not. Only thing I could come up with that made any sense to me. We are bigger than him. Powerful message though.

          April 11, 2017 at 10:31 am

Secondly and most importantly…I think that our Forever President would endorse this message. If he would, I will.

        • April 11, 2017 at 11:02 am

then why have Pres Obama .. he is not an elected official either…This is about leaders of the party…and active citizens…to exclude our last candidate is trifling…and says a lot about the folks who put this together….and i will say it again…Bernie Sanders is NOT a Democrat…he bashes the DEM party every chance he gets. he played a major role in the demonization of Hillary Clinton which is not being addressed….DEMS should be wary of Sanders/Stein and their ilk…they will be rearing their ugliness again in 2020….we should better be mindful of the Trojan Horse that is Sanders….

Trump is going to love that, isn’t he?

  4. April 11, 2017 at 9:53 am

Trump and his Jewish son-in-law and daughter-wife failed to attend WH dinner tradition begun by predecessor.

The Jews didn’t attend the Passover dinner?

    WHAT THE PHUCK?!?!?!?!?!?!??

I keep on saying this, and will continue to say it…

All Lives Mattering the Holocaust…NOT attending the WHITE HOUSE Passover Seder…..

    catch the clues, people.

They’re the kind of Jews who think, “I’ve got mine, so eff the rest of you.” I know the type, although at least when I was growing up, this wasn’t the norm.

        • 18 57andfemale
          April 11, 2017 at 10:43 am

In fact, when I was growing up all the Jews I knew were infused with the idea of giving back, of creating a tolerant, inclusive society. To do good. To learn the lessons of history. To share the gifts of your intelligence, generous heart, and a country where you could live without fear. Those were the days…….

Look at the comparison pictures of the Trump Seder vs. the Obama Seder.

Look at that cheap trash for Dolt45.
    Look at the cheap chairs.
Look at the non-existent place settings.
    Look at the glasses.

    Everything about it screams CHEAP

Growing up, the seder was the way to reach through religious barriers, an inclusive way of sharing who we were as Jews. We always invited Christian friends to share. My best friend brought her young children to our seders all the time. Her eldest daughter, my goddaughter, has a Seder for her young children now because of the memories she had with us. It’s such a cool experience: the religious ritual is at the table, amongst friends and family, sharing food, history, religion, comraderie. Children take a major part of the “service.”

I recently found a friend on Facebook that I grew up with, and we both have such fond memories of me being included in Christmas and Easter in her Italian Catholic home, and she and her family sharing Passover with us. She would come and help the day before, as we put together the Seder plate that shows the trials of the Jewish people. And of course I LOVED making Christmas cookies, Easter dinner with her family.

What the hell happened to this country?

        • April 11, 2017 at 11:08 am

Thank you so much for your post of memories…i was invited to a seder by one of the blocks in my community..when we were organizing our community …it was an eye opening experience…the sharing of values as you say..and also the sharing of struggle …As President Obama said we are more alike then we are different…Trump’s seder had none of the qualities that you speak of…it was for show…as is most of the things with him…and because the Pres did he he must do it as well

May is shaping up to be a busy month for PBO and I hope there is a way for us to go along. So far, after the Profiles in Courage Award ceremony, he will visit three countries: Scotland, Italy (Milan) and Germany. You know that he will receive a rock star’s welcome everywhere and his BFF Angela Merkel, will welcome him with open arms after she hits him upside his head after saying ‘WTF, Barack! I thought you said that this asshole would never be elected?”. I hope that the media here will talk it up so that 45 who is obsessed with 44 who he knows is the better man, will see and know that everything that he has done to try to diminish PBO is in vain.

The ACA aka Obamacare is the best of what we have right now…but there is room for improvement…instead of trying to undermine the law…why doesn’t the GOP join with DEMs to improve the law….i am NOT in favor of reinventing the wheel by scrapping the law and starting over….the GOP had 8 years to work in a bi-partisan fashion to improve the law…but instead they voted to Repeal the law 60 times…..60 times…now that they have the power to repeal…they can’t do it..

    ‘Cuse me?????

Russia is on the verge of taking control of a US oil company.
In a crazy twist of international events, Russia’s state-owned oil company Rosneft might end up owning Citgo, a US energy company based in Houston, Texas.
This isn’t a direct takeover. Instead, it hinges on the ability of Venezuela’s state-run oil company to pay back its Russian loan. The Venezuelan company owns Citgo, which was used as collateral for the loan.

Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers are highly alarmed. In hotly worded letters to the Trump Administration in recent days, members of Congress and senators warned that it could be a big problem for US national security if Russia gets a hold of Citgo.
“We are extremely concerned that Rosneft’s control of a major US energy supplier could pose a grave threat to American energy security, impact the flow and price of gasoline for American consumers, and expose critical US infrastructure to national security threats,” a bipartisan group of senators led by Republican Marco Rubio of Florida and Democrat Bob Menendez of New Jersey wrote Monday in a letter to US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

    • April 11, 2017 at 4:35 pm

Honest question: If Venezuela owns Citgo, how is it an American company? Isn’t it now a Venezuelan company located in Houston?

What is at the heart of this war on women? It has to be more than garden variety misogyny which is bad enough. Is it that we outnumber them in population, education, and in registered voters and all of these anti-woman moves are a way to shut us up and to control us? The F**king cowards know that we can come for them so is all of this a way to stop us?

  22. April 11, 2017 at 11:28 am

Some days I wonder if the investigation is taking too long – so long that the absolutely insane normalization of Trump will have advanced to the point where people just accept that it’s OK to have a criminal in the White House. But I am also pleased that a lot of people are working hard every day to connect the dots. I just want this nightmare to END.

The Coming White House Egg Roll Catastrophe
by Martin Longman April 11, 2017 10:36 AM

With so many potential story lines percolating at the moment, I’m pretty certain that Julie Hirschfeld Davis wasn’t entirely thrilled to draw the assignment of covering the Trump administration’s preparations (or lack thereof) for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. But she certainly did as much as a human can reasonably be expected to do, essentially hitting a grand slam with her hard hitting and thorough exposure of a catastrophe in the making.

          Agree so much, pkayden.

That’s the way I felt when viewing the video that JER posted on the previous thread of PBO, in the rain (sigh), being such a gentleman and escorting Valerie Jarret and another woman (feel like I should know her name, but can’t recall now) from Marine One to the WH, safely under his umbrella.

All the plants were so lush and green, simply wonderful viewing.

It would be bittersweet in any case, but w/ the absolute morons (I swear, savvy middle school students know more about the world than these “leaders” do) doing their best to unravel our democracy and destabilize the entire world, it’s especially wrenching.

Cause you know the aunties and the grandmas are THE ONES who have the wisdom, the bull shit detectors, and the one who sees you, understands you and will hold you accountable. They love you, but will whup your ass in a hot second. All respect and honor to the black and brown aunties and grandmas who hold the family and the community together. PBO recognizes their influence and power. I am old enough to be a grandma myself, but my mother, the Southern steel magnolia, is the head of our family. I stand up and say my piece and do what I want for the most part, but she is still the one that we want to please.

The national press, the republicans, and anyone who did not get their way, derided PBO’s intelligence and management of his office. Everything that he did was under a microscope, nothing less than perfection was acceptable and for them it was a perfection that was unattainable, They tried everything to imply that he was lazy and incompetent on one hand and an aloof elitist on the other. They lied and slandered because they knew he was not the Black man of their fevered imaginations. Now they have a white man, who in truth owns the labels that they tried to attach to PBO and much worse. They prepped the field for the malignant plants that have grown and now they do not know what to do because they cannot control what they have wrought. Once again, it will have to be the despised democrats and democratic leaning citizens to clean up the crap again.

Obviously, Republicans in North Carolina never read the “supremacy clause” in Article VI, paragraph 2, of the U.S. Constitution. Here is what it says:

“The Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance threof; and all the treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be THE SUPREME law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or Laws of any state to the centrally notwithstanding.”

Republicans repeatedly claim to be defenders of the Consritution; yet they have no qualms violating it. But then again, many Republicans think the Constitution is all about the 2nd and the 10th Amendments.

I saw a black and white documentary on the Holocaust when I was in Junior High School and never forgot it. The teachers thought that this was important enough for the entire class to see it. As I got older, I learned about the Black troops who liberated one of the camps and the life-long friendships some of them had with the Jews they saved. Then several years ago, I leaned about the ship of Jewish refugees who were turned away from our shores, many of whom wound up in the gas chambers. U. S banks, especially Chase, did business with the Nazis before the US entered the war (only after we had been hit). Our hands are bloody and to try to deny or to soften the horror is insult added to injury. But then, this is what we do in this country when faced with the inconvenient truth. The oppressors and those who profit from it with unearned privilege say that African slaves are “immigrants” and “laborers” who were “well fed, happy and cared for”; the Holocaust is denied, and every illegal immigrant is from Mexico and South America. This country and we will never live up to our potential, to be the light on the hill, the land of liberty, and any other descriptor that our daily lives give the lie to, until the truth is accepted, wrongs admitted, and reconciliation and reparation (not talking about monetary) made.
