That day in 2014 when the President helped national security advisor Susan Rice carry her bags off the helicopter. Susan was one of the hardest working people at the White House, not to mention still being one of the most honorable people I’ve ever met. petesouza

Two Democratic congressmen on the House intelligence committee believe the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia are so serious that people close to the President will end up behind bars.

Washington Rep. Denny Heck and Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro are part of the congressional investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and made the grave speculations on two different network shows. … More here: http://nydn.us/2nFFi8h

Our SWEETNESS! Going to Scotland:) At least we’ll have some news that isn’t terrifying!

London (CNN)Former US President Barack Obama is set to make his first visit to Scotland next month when he addresses business leaders in Edinburgh.

Obama, who left the White House in January after eight years, is expected to give one of his highest profile speeches since leaving office at a charity event organized by The Hunter Foundation.
Obama will follow in the footsteps of former US president Bill Clinton and Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney, all of whom have spoken at previous events hosted by the organization.

He will have a busy month in May as this is the third event that I have heard about in which he will participate. The others are the Profiles in Courage Award on the 7th and the speech in Milan on the 9th at the food expo that MO has visited. Packing my bags, pocketing my passport, and getting my ticket to go along on the TOD express, woo hoo!

Auntie Maxine can give a master class on giving that look that causes everyone to back up, the one that says “Try me; I am NOT the one for your foolishness. The look can quell a classroom of children and bring grown-ass men to their knees. Many women have it in varying degrees, but Black women are masters. I used it at various times during my 30 year teaching career and it worked every time. When I started out, even though I was in my late 20’s I looked like a teenager and was often mistaken for one of the students until they heard me speak. In the first year that I taught (28, 5′ 3”, and 92 lbs.), one of my 16 year old male students said, “I would rather you curse me out than look at me that way.” and I knew that had the power of the look.

I have been thinking of the kick ass women of the Obama administration often in past few days. So fierce, fearless, steady and smart like the woman who decided she would let him chase her and finally marry. Hail to the warrior women, I speak your names:
Dr. Susan Rice, NSA director and Ambassador to the UN, a mighty mite who caused world leaders to quake in fear.
Loretta Lynch, USAG, who had the corrupt international soccer (football) folks asking in amazement, “Who is this person,” when she took them down as well as our homegrown assholes.
Samantha Power, US Ambassador to the UN, a fiery, tell-it-like-it is force of nature.
Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor, wielded power with a soft voice and political genius.
Hillary Rodham Clinton, a former adversary who became a trusted and respected partner, her game was so on point that Putin feared her.
Sally Yates, Asst. USAG and Acting USAG, who spoke truth to power and stood up for the law fearlessly.
Warrior women, who are still on the battlefields fighting for what is true, just, and right, I speak your names, I speak your names, I speak your names.

My dream: a contingent made up of the female justices, whoever is the incorruptible head of the FBI, the Chief of the DC police, female Senators and Representatives march into the White House during this treasonous administration to level charges from lying and fraud to high crimes (treason) and misdemeanors against 45 and his wrecking crew, read them their rights and march their sorry asses out in handcuffs. Meanwhile, Capitol police, DC police, FBI, and other law enforcement officials are rounding up other staff members and Republican congress people for similar offenses and taking them away as well. All will be carried on national TV so that citizens will see that no one is above the law and that justice will be served. As 45 and others are marched out of the gates, in full view, the sidewalks will be lined with those who have been directly harmed by these people, as well as thousands that represent the other segments of our population who have been so grievously wronged by them. They will be holding signs spelling out our outrage, wearing pink pussy hats, and raising their clenched fists, and chanting, “Lock them Up”, “This is what justice looks like,” and singing, “O, Happy Day” led by A-A gospel singers.

And, then, late in the evening when everybody’s starting to get tired during such a busy day of taking back our country, this version (don’t remember seeing this before, with the magnificent Ray Charles). I’d much rather listen to this than think about the current state of our country, soon to be washed away – with luck and prayers – and brought back to life.
