      DF, We're traveling to San Francisco for a couple of days, then onto wine country to do some wine tasting in the Dry Creek Valley, Healdsburg, Sonoma and Napa. Can't wait to get out of Los Angeles.

    GN TOD. I leave you with a few items I have on my “the kindness of TOD collection plate registry for LP”….

    “There are those of us who can’t go a morning without a cup of coffee. Then there are those who require a portable espresso maker. We picked a recent trip to California for a few days of trailer camping as a perfect time to test what turned out to be a marvel of caffeine delivery, the Handpresso Auto. About the size of a water bottle and just under two pounds, the Handpresso Auto is perfectly portable, all the more so thanks to a power cord that coils neatly around the body and a plug that hides in a recess. (The airport security officer who pulled it from our carry-on – upon hearing our explanation – simply offered a wry smile, saying, “Can’t live without it, right?”

    …The Handpresso Auto is simple to use – even simpler than a fair number of tabletop units we’ve seen. The routine goes like this:

    ….When you’re ready, flip the unit upside down, hold it over a cup, push the button on the side and, with a hiss as the pressure releases, you’re rewarded with a shot of steaming black gold that’s just hot enough to drink. The flavor is smooth, rich, and tasty.”

  4. March 29, 2017 at 10:12 pm

    “….I would be cooking eggs every morning and I love butter. So I would put the butter in the pan and begin melting it and go make coffee. When I came back it was usually burning. So I kept thinking, “Why isn’t there a way I can just spray the butter in the pan without burning it?” The more I thought about it, a lot of other uses for spraying butter came up as well…

    …The name is rooted in the word “beam” which is defined as, “a stream of particles,” “to send out beams of light or energy,” and “to smile happily.” As we searched for the perfect name, we wanted something that would embody not only what our product is, but also something that is unique. Something that could be a noun or a verb, like Google. The traditional form of the word “beam” or “beem” resulted in millions of results on a Google search. But as we worked with the spelling, we found that there were only five results total for the spelling “biēm” and many people told us the word looks Italian or German which to them indicated a high quality product. We feel like it is up to us to create the awareness of the product and how to pronounce it….continued”

      Nena – Any mention of President Obama is a very good thing!

      But, OTOH, first of all, NEWSWEEK, we know you could have found a gazillion better photos of our President for your tweet. Secondly, within a little more than two months of January 19, somebody considers progress to be “slow” on his library and museum? Sorry, NEWSWEEK, too turned off by that to read the story, even if it turned out to be a good thing!

      Signed: ObamaBot and proud of it! ❤

        I wonder WHY the editor choose to use this one …. given all the brilliant ones on file;

        the photo made me ponder whether to forward that tweet

        The main thrust is that PBO and MO haven’t chosen the design of the future library. No kidding! As you say, it’s been a couple of months since they’ve left office and they are busy! And, as we all know, they do not rush things. They’ll be ready to announce when they’re ready to announce. I have no doubt it will be magnificent and more than enough money will be available to them. Also, if we recall, part of the proceeds of PBO”s next book will go to the foundation. So I imagine he wants to tackle that first. All is well.

          March 30, 2017 at 11:48 am

      The article says the Obama Foundation having trouble raising money to break ground. I find that very very very hard to believe given all the BlackWealth available to him which doesn’t include all the other money available to him. I just think Obamas are very selective about WHO they take money from.

      I seriously do not long for the normalcy of the Bush presidency. I don’t know anyone who does. By the end of his term people were throwing shoes at him, both here and abroad, for Pete’s sake! I DO long for the extraordinarily excellent presidency of Barack Hussein though.

    Staffers at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) international climate office have been asked to stop using the phrases “climate change,” “emissions reduction” and “Paris Agreement,” Politico reported Wednesday.

    A supervisor at the DOE international climate office asked staff not to use the phrases in memos and briefings within hours of President Trump’s Tuesday executive order that reversed many of former President Obama’s climate protections, the report said.

    The phrases have not been banned outright, but are reportedly part of a list of climate-related terms that are being avoided in light of the Trump administration’s attitudes on climate change.

    my suspicion (could be wrong):

    AG Sally Yates could probably testify that what the White House has claimed about Pence & Flynn is not true;

    chances are that Pence was with the sexual predator when AG Yates told the WH that Flynn was compromised and therefore could be subject to blackmail.

    but even when the WH knew this, they didn’t fire Flynn until 3 weeks later.

    this would mean that Pence lied, twice – first in public to media and second when he claimed that he Flynn lied to him;

    the media took the “explanation” that Flynn was “fired” because he lied to VP as truth – but what if it is not true??

    most of these scumbags in team 45 & the gop are dirty and should be cleaned out and go to jail;

    • 57 almablanca
      March 30, 2017 at 10:30 am

      Pence knew. He got a letter from rep Elijah Cummings saying that’s Flynn was in collusion with the Russians long before.

    I been waiting for some attention to be paid to the report that the activities of putin russia extended to the state-level election mechanism (machines and lists).

    great to hear Sen. Angus King, member of the senate intelligence committee, say that this will be a place he will focus. waiting to see how this goes down

    • March 30, 2017 at 8:10 am

      Good morning all. Linda. I agree about the state-level elections. I so strongly agree with df about many of them knowing last spring how the election would turn out. That all the ‘distancing’ and ‘disowning’ of 45 during the campaign was nothing but an act.*******SCOTUS appointment.****** I believe there was interference at the state level. Probably never come out, but won’t stop my firm belief it occurred.
