My only request is if we could keep photos of the Trump family to a minimum on this blog please! I hate seeing their faces and I feel like they pollute our sanctuary. Thank you.

Trump and his associates refuse to do anything all other Presidents have done since forever. It is difficult to understand from afar why this happens. We have ministers resign because of mis-stating their assets and all charging expenses to government not related to their jobs. We have independent monitors of such things.

Seems both the media and the congress are unwilling to expose/criticize everything this administration is doing. Why?

And his grandmother. She was the pragmatic, level-headed family member that he admired so much. His mother, the idealist, taught him to be kind, to dream big, and to dance even while others threw rocks.

If I had one wish for Barack Obama, it would be for both his mother and grandmother to have been here with him on this earth to witness his extraordinary and transformational presidency. What a time they’d have had!!

It breaks my heart to think that neither of these incredible forces of nature were by PBO’s side on Jan 20, 2009. 😦

Especially his Mother, who would have shot down and eviscerated “birtherism” before DJT had the time to tweet this lie.

So, so sad, she was younger than PBO is now when she passed. 😦

His mother was a driving force for Obamacare. I imagine she was especially in his thoughts these last few days as we all defeated the GOP. Now more than ever, Obamacare is ingrained in our culture. Thanks, Obama.

      GM Allison.

Since I don’t have a TV, have no idea who the heck Kayleigh McEnany is, or what qualifications she has to on air.

America is currently in crisis because of the person (sub-human IMHO) who was elected president last Fall.

MSM needs to respond to this emergency by voiding contracts with so-called “pundits” who blatantly LIE on air — not for a simple malapropism or honest mistake in citing statistics, etc., but there was no reason for this idiot to fabricate and spew this lie other than to get headlines on RWNJ media (which is DJT’s ONLY source of news).

    GM, TOD.
One of the many ironies of our present time is that now many things that PBO did that the haters complained about, now seem to be the right thing to do. With each assault on our sense of effective governance and plain human decency, PBO’s former critics hold up how he did things as an example. I can just see Michelle Rolling her eyes. We had it good and they knew it even as they try to destroy him because he is Black and a democrat. Well, we have his polar opposite in office and everyone is seeing just how disastrous that is.
Spend some time away from the political wrangling and do things and see people to remind us to be grateful and to remember what and for whom we are resisting. Have a good day, everyone. Hugs to Chips and Dudette; many thanks to NW.

The NYPD estimates that it costs $127,000 to $146,000 a day to protect Melania and her 10-year-old son when 44 is not in the city, The New York Times reported. When he is in the city, it costs about $308,000 a day. That’s about $50 million a year to protect her and son, according to the Times.

Petition says she must move to D.C. with her husband or foot the bill for security in NYC. http://4.nbcny.com/fHXfbmh

I wish she wasn’t ultimately a ‘President Pence’, or okay with a ‘President Ryan (ffs)’, because it seems only logical to me, if the 2016 election was interfered with, in order to instate T-Rump, then technically the republicans did NOT win, and none of them is legitimately in office. Every single appointee is also invalid and must step down. Although I’m quite alright with all of them going to prison, for life. I have more to say, but it’s early and the construction site below my window gives me a very sore head.

What Ryan didn’t mention is that the plan has been to do both Obamacare repeal and tax cuts in the Senate via the process of budget reconciliation (which bypasses the possibility of a filibuster) in order to avoid needing any Democratic support. But there are a lot of rules involved with reconciliation – like the fact that bills passed via that process cannot add to the deficit over the next 10 years.

Is the picture starting to come together? Republicans want to pass trillions of dollars of tax cuts, but have to offset their costs in order to use the reconciliation process and avoid having to work with Democrats. Because Obamacare repeal gives them an offset by reducing things like Medicaid to the tune of about $800 billion, it allows them to pile up those tax cuts.

In other words, it’s not just that Speaker Ryan has been dreaming about dismantling Medicaid since he went to keggers. He needs to reduce the money we’re spending on health care for the poor and disabled in order to fund his tax cuts for the wealthy. It’s really that simple.

And now how will they accomplish the deed
