Hilarious! Great to see you around amk. I’ve been busy for the past couple of days and am only now able to check in and see you’re around. I’ve missed your great posts. Have a wonderful day. (I hope Chips comes back soon. Have you heard from her?)
Fabulous! I started “liking” each one, but then I realized I was getting carried away. Actually, it’s Trump who should be getting carried away — maybe today, eh?
I wonder if the FBI comes to take one away, if they still qualify for Secret Service protection? I say at that point let Trump’s SS detail head off to Aspen for a little sanity break.
Good Morning TOD, I love the smell of indictments in the morning. As the early morning dew slowly dissipates, and the birds chirp, and your defense lawyer frantically tries to broker a deal that will keep you out of jail. It is always those quiet moments before the storm that allow for true and meaningful contemplation.
Sometimes I wonder if Trump is thinking about an exit strategy from the Presidency? I mean it certainly wouldn’t be the firs time someone thought about getting out of an untenable situation of their own making. Obviously the guy is only interested in salvaging his brand, I think at this point he knows he can’t get his agenda put into place. So why not think about an exit strategy, he can always tell his cult followers that he can do more good outside of the White House than he can do from the inside. They will believe him, those morons will believe anything he says.
I don’t want him to walk away. I want to see his sorry ass nailed to the wall….and all his complicit cronies, too. No. He doesn’t fucking get to just walk away. Bar the door, Martha! His ass is ours!
this is so weird- suddenly I am unable to tweet or facebook anything from here. Can’t tweet this post, can’t retweet anyone’s tweets. I can do it from twitter, also apparently can’t do it from any news sites. Anyone have a help as to what’s gone wrong? Please & thank you 🙂
thanks meta. I’ve been afraid to shut off my laptop for days because it is in need of fixing- badly.. and feel if I shut it off, it may not come back on. I’m in need of it right now, and have to wait for a bit before I can afford to have it looked at. I’m sure you’re right, thank you so much.
well I took a chance and restarted it.. and voila! fixed the problem.. but boy did I have a hard time getting it started again. Hope to take it into the shop pretty soon. Thanks again for your good advice.
I caught Senator Schumer on This Week and he did real good. Keep the focus on middle and lower financial class segment of society. And hold up SC decision until the Russian investigation is complete.
I guess this joke WASN’T just a rumor! He’s such an embarrassment. Sorry Germany. Excuse the moron, he’s not the REAL President, he’s just a placeholder, doing Putin’s dirty work…
The humiliations never stop with Donald Trump as president. The German government is confirming that Trump tried to intimidate the US ally by giving Chancellor Angela Merkel an invoice for hundreds of billions of dollars that he claims the German people owe NATO.
Once upon a time, it might have been a joke. But with 45, whenever you read or hear about something outrageous that he supposedly did, it more likely true than not.
When it comes to foreign policy, everything that 45 is doing is for the purpose of weakening our relationship with our allies…which is a part of Putin’s strategy. It is not by coincidence that just about everyone — if not everyone — who is or has been a part of 45’s inner circle — from the campaign to now — has some ties (direct or indirect) to Russia.
I can imagine Angela Merkel calling up PBO (he’ll always be President to me) and the two of them having a good laugh about the lunacy of this so-called president.
This is already what Trump has promised to do and which Democrats must fight against. The ACA needs to be strengthened and not destroyed. That’s what the American people deserve.
Good. Second country to beat back the nativist and populist movements after they saw what a mess the US and the UK have done to themselves. In less than 2 months we have become a pariah nation and the object lesson of what not to do when choosing a leader. The prediction that I made about the hit that this country would take in loosing tourism dollars is already coming true. 90,000 jobs are on the line and billions have already been lost because people do not want to come here. One spokesman pointed out that it was the “Anglo-Saxon Christian white people from other nations who have decided not to come here. Racists always like to think that everyone who likes like them is racist as well and this is not true (several of my white Obama supporting friends have told me about the encounters with such people). Travel warnings have been issued in Toronto and Australia and I am sure other countries against having their citizens travel to the US. Everyone wanted to come here when PBO was president, and now students (number of foreign students coming here for study has plummeted) business people and casual travelers are staying away because of the poisonous atmosphere here. Since the only thing that republicans respect is money for the 1%, once business leaders start blowing up their phones they may then move (if Russia-gate does not get them first) to repeal and replace 45.
So NOW he praises what PBO did when he and his crew did everything they could to stop the passage and implementation of the ACA? They were the dogs of the insurance companies, snapping at PBO’s heels for 8 years. Yes, mofo, healthcare is complicated!
A Republican, in federal government, admitting that ACA ‘went through public hearings… developed a fact-based foundation of knowledge’ etc? I thought the Dems were supposed to have rammed it through. smh They do say (good) liars have to have good memories.
For the millionth time, countries don't "owe" for NATO. They spend a % of their GDP on defense. They don't pay the United States. UGH. https://t.co/G2Q4rieshB
And by the same token:
Maybe we should give Trump a bill from African Americans who built the White House and America for free then rewarded with brutality.
Maybe we should give Trump a bill from Native Americans for centuries of genocide and ethnocide.
Considering how corrupt him and his family are he will probably ask for 5 to 10 percent finders fee too. We know he cares nothing for the US except how to loot her so pretty sure he and his peeps will find a way to share the 300BN plus pie at the very least, keep a portion of it.
It is so ironic that everything about who 45 is and what is unfavorably compared with how PBO governed and carried himself. For 8 years, while he had many ardent supporters, the usual haters on the right and many pseudo liberals and progressives on the left, gave him shit. They nit-picked everything; nothing was good enough, and now we have a person who is the total opposite of 44ever in the white house. They finally have the white, wealthy businessman in office. The straight-shooter who is going to put our allies in their place, bring back coal jobs and put brown and black people back in their place. Too bad for them that they got what they wanted and it turned out to be as hollow and rancid as we told them. They look back and realize that even if they did not agree with many things PBO did, that they never questioned his decency, competence, and integrity. They now see just how bad, bad can be and what happens when you vote for someone to hurt those you do n ot like and wound up being pulled down yourself. Karma is a bitch who is having a field day. We were given a stellar leader, but because he came wrapped in brown skin, too many could not see what a gift he was. Well, they can see now as they worry about their lives in ways they did not have to when that beautiful, smart, brown man was in charge. All too often people have to suffer before they can learn. It is sad that al the rest of us have to suffer with them
This had to be part of the hard lesson to learn. I do believe that most people are beginning to see this…and understand. Those crazyasses that always will stand by his lying, ignorant, arrogant self are a minority….Even liberals realize that they have to participate in govt. to make it work. Hard, painful lesson America had to learn…in so many ways.
thank you df. I’m just coming up and out of a severe case of jetlag! It really hit me hard, but I’ve been reading and enjoying. One thing I learned in my trip to Spain and Portugal, is that they know exactly what the rump is. They have no illusions, and he scares them for the world.

45 seems to have a knack for making people, who may have thought otherwise, realize what a great President we had in Barack Obama (whether they want to admit it or not) and realize how much better it is to have someone in office who has character and a clue. When you have Republicans *admitting* that for the past 8 to 10 years, they’ve done *NOTHING* in terms of governing, only obstruct, then you know that, at least for some, the light bulb has come on.

Hello TOD on a Sunday Afternoon.

Congrats, JOB on your Gold ⭐ on the last post.
NW, Chips & TOD Twitter Brigades……. 🍸 🍸 🍸 Thank you, All.
Daydreaming that one fine Sunday night, Trump will talk to real Americans from the Oval in a livestreamed “fireside chat” (the name of which he’d also be stealing), and say simply: “I am resigning. You don’t deserve me.” And then we could all have notes sent to him by courier (his preference) to respond, “No, we don’t deserve the likes of you. And don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.”
Think I’ll go take a siesta with that pleasurable scene in my head, on a rainy day! Or not. I’d rather think about my six-y/o great grandson who just called and ended with “I love you!” – as he hurried off the phone to get back to playing. Yeah, that’s the ticket!
Yet despite these advances, the National Rifle Association argues, self-servingly, that noisy guns are a public health hazard. With the help of supporters like President Trump’s son Donald Jr., a gun hobbyist, it wants to roll back an 80-year-old federal law that tightly controls the sale of firearm silencers. Immune to irony, the N.R.A.’s congressional friends have introduced a measure called the Hearing Protection Act, which contends that the sound of gunfire is hard on the ears of gun owners.
At present, silencers, also known as suppressors, are available only to gun owners who pay a $200 tax and undergo a rigorous nine-month vetting process. Like machine guns and hand grenades, silencers were considered a special menace by Congress back in the mob warfare days of the 1930s when tight controls were enacted.
Firearms sellers, eager to cash in on what has become a vanity item, argue that silencers should be regulated no more tightly than gun purchases. The latter, of course, undergo a shoddy process with dangerous loopholes that Congress has declined to close.

This is a very good piece that lays most of the issues out in straightforward language if you’re looking to catch up.
That is a must see video by the incomparable Malcolm Nance. Michael Flynn is toast and he’s going to bring down the entire Trump house of cards.
Malcolm Nance is my new go-to person. He’s very talented, in his assessments and projections.

In light of this tweet, let’s discuss the abject failures of leadership that led to the failure of the AHCA
https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/845974102619906048 … 2/
I don’t think the AHCA was worth passing, but if Trump did, he did a terrible job of seeing that it happened. 3/
Let’s recall the work that went into the passage of Obamacare. It was a process that took nine months of intra-party wrangling. 4/
Obama was in regular contact with his own party’s congressional leadership and engaged in a full-court PR press to sell the bill. 5/
A process which began long before the bill was even conceived. 6/
An important element of this was that Obama did not act like a jackass every single day on Twitter and immediately tank his approval 7/
Thus, his campaigning, particularly with members of his own party, actually worked. His own party cared about crossing him. 8/
Now let’s contrast this with Trump’s, uh, “efforts,” if you wish to call them that, to ensure passage of the AHCA. 9/
First, he doomed the whole effort by setting up wildly unrealistic expectations – we will repeal “immediately,” it will be “very easy” 10/
Then, he refused to participate even a little bit in the drafting of the bill, even to provide input on thematic elements. 11/
Once the bill was drafted, he failed to educate himself at all on what was even contained in the bill. 12/
The entire time, he undercut House leadership’s messaging on the bill and sent dramatically inconsistent messages in the press. 13/
During the fight over the bill he did almost no work to convince the public of the need for its passage. No major speeches, no townhalls 14/
He did, however, play a lot of golf, so he had that in common with Obama. 15/ [Note: PBO didn’t play golf that early in his presidency]
During the debate over Obamacare, Obama personally cajoled, threatened, and bribed (Nelson-NE) his own caucus to keep them on board. 16/
Obama stuck with the bill even after a necessary vote in the Senate (Kennedy) DIED, making a conference committee impossible. 17/
Trump walked away after the bill had been debated for about two weeks and he personally had been involved for about 3 days. 18/
In short, the amount of effort he put forth was pathetic and his tactics were ill-suited to work with elected officials 19/
Most importantly, he has no political capital to make people afraid of him because his OTHER unforced errors made him unpopular 20/
Most importantly, he has no political capital to make people afraid of him because his OTHER unforced errors made him unpopular 20/
Unforced errors, by the way, that have had nothing to do with advancing his agenda but rather with protecting his infantile ego 21/
Again, the AHCA’s failure is a good thing. But if you disagree with that, nearly 100% of the failure lies with Trump. 22/
The idiotic rants of Jeanine Pirro and Sean Hannity aside, Congressmen are not serfs. Trump isn’t Kim Jong Un. Leaders understand this. 23/
The end. 24/
Thanks SWBG, for the recap of long tweet thread.
Not sure what The Blaze’s relationship is with the GOP and DJT now, but seems significant that their editor included these tweets (after GOP and MSM bashing PBO for 8 years).
Unfortunately, you also have some that seem to like the chaos that 45 is causing.
Daniel Dale, that is just sick B.S.
It really takes it to another level when people say that they *know* that he is lying and just don’t care. That they *like* the chaos that he’s added to an already dysfunctional government.
I lied. One more thing. Trump knows the media is against him, whereas they helped Obama. This means he should be willing to work harder 25/
Than Obama did to accomplish the same goals. Instead he worked less than 10% as hard and then gave up. 26/
Payable to….????
golf cart rentals. tax $$$ hard at work
…but programs like Meals on Wheels…not considered a good use of our tax dollars.

This is great news. We need rid of as many as possible. Issa and King are on the top of my list!
GA JackieinAZ.
What’s confused to me is that Issa apparently has 2 Dem challengers…
Mike Levin’s getting media attention, but based on Doug Applegate’s tweets, he’s running too (?).
Hope the two Democratic Candidates don’t cancel each other giving Issa the win.
Great news! What an odious POS he is.

MORE LIES
WH said Trump was in “3 meetings.”
Good that someone is willing to admit this, even if it is Cotton…
The scary part is that Tom Cotton is setting himself up for a presidential bid in 2020. Ugh. #Traitor
That’s where his letter to Iran will come back to bite him.
