I am relieved but also alert because both Trump and our Tea Party rep have referred to letting Obamacare fail of its own accord. Now we need to expose their attempts to do just that and let them know we won’t stand for it.

I know I’ll be calling my rep and senator regularly on the subject. I was reminiscing last night on the anniversary with someone that had mc’d our healthcare forum back in the day that I just met at a women’s march huddle. I kept thinking about all the work we put into getting the bill passed and how precious it is to keep and to improve. It will one day be like Medicare and Social Security, working for more people and working better. I just know it now. Thought I am happy its also a very emotional moment and the tears are right there.

I am so very grateful to all of you for staying with this site so we can go through this together. Its profound really. Love and blessings to everyone.

      GE DF.

Don’t know, have only checked in on a few Twitter timelines today.

Also, if you go to Twitter and enter Comey in the search box, a NYPost story appears (couldn’t find a tweet to link to the article, though).

Very pleased about today, but we have to keep our marching boots on, our eyes on the prize, and our weapons at the ready. The enemy is re-grouping even now. We have learned the hard way that things we take for granted, things we take to be right and true can be trodden upon and destroyed when we allow deadbeats in office. Be not afraid, but be ever vigilant. Thank God and all who participated for this victory. We will exhale for today and gird our loins for tomorrow. Russia-gate must be the main focus.

You took the words right out of my mind!

Been thinking about that Ice Cube tune from the early 90s all afternoon. We don’t stop fighting, but gonna savor this. A clip of my cousin protesting in defense of Planned Parenthood made the news! Nancy Smash was literally jumping up and down. Nerdy found all kinds of tweets gloriously mocking Cheeto Mussolini.

Today WAS a good day, wasn’t it?

  19. March 24, 2017 at 8:54 pm

Michael Moore gets on my last nerve. Why does he come on TV to lecture Dems, telling us stuff like don’t get too happy
because this win is not the end. What the hell are we? Morons? We know it’s not the end. We did not need him or Bernie Sanders to tell us to go march in the streets, storm airports against the Mulim ban or make calls to our congress people. But, after people have taken these actions Moore and Sanders tend to rush in to take some
form of credit and then proceed to lecture us.They need to STFU. President Barack Obama is the one who taught most of
us about our rights and how to fight for them. The ultimate community organizer has trained us well and given us HEALTHCARE
in the process. So far, Moore and Sanders have promised us single payer but have yet to deliver. All talk no action. At least PBO has delivered.

    • March 24, 2017 at 9:07 pm

Because Trump & GOP have already passed measures to defund Obamacare. If they do nothing, it will eventually die in every state that can’t replace the funding. It’s far from over.

      • March 24, 2017 at 9:35 pm

Tally I know it’s far from over and that’s my point…we don’t need MM talking down to us as if we are not aware of what’s
going on. I know I am certainly ready to continue to fight along with others, because we know the GOP never gives up.
However, today is happy day.Marching boots back on tomorrow.

        • March 25, 2017 at 11:43 am

I agree with you hope44. We know it is not over but we can at least take a moment and enjoy our win!

        • March 25, 2017 at 1:50 pm

I agree with you…. I wrote you a wonderful reply last night, but forgot to copy it, refresh the page, then post it… I just tried to post it because I was a mostly-asleep eeejit, and it disappeared into the ether.

          From what I can remember……

MM didn’t/isn’t talking down to *us*, because WE are not the target. Critical Thinking is an Olympic sport for us. We’re all political geeks here, who can’t get enough information. “Hi, my name is Tally, and I’m an Obama Nerd.” 😀

The weak-minded BernieBots, who allowed themselves to be manipulated by the Russian click-farm troll fake HRC propaganda, and couldn’t see that Bernie would never fare as well a HRC, because all the GOP had to do is scream SOCIALIST 24/7 and that would be enough to dupe the low-information peeps – THEY are the target. The Russian trolls are back this morning, still working their shit all over Twitter, crying how Bernie would be POTUS if he’d been the nom.

Sadly, we need weak-minded BernieBots. We our unity back, because the fight to bring back FUNDING for the ACA, which the GOP already fucked with in the first few weeks of this shit show, is going to be nearly impossible. I’m hoping between Russia and the ACA and all the other damage that’s being done apace will help bring us together to fight a common enemy – Russia and their puppets. Comey should be taking down the entire 45 admin, and half the Congressional GOP.

If we can get unified, we’ll steamroll the GOP, because their unity is destroyed because of Trumpcare. The crazy Freedom Caucus wanted the bill to be even more draconian and want their Genocide for Profit bill more Profitable, while the moderates wanted it to stay more like the ACA, and not kill people. The SAME PARTY.

Our win today was EPIC, for both sides. Epically awesome for us, and devastatingly epic fail for theirs. And Im hoping the momentum we have right now will be enough to fight and bring back the ACA FUNDING – which is their other weapon to kill it.

          so yeah. fucking internet. 😉

        March 25, 2017 at 1:33 am

Go ahead and speak “TRUTH,” J’OB! It turns out that many GOP constituents hated “Obamacare,” but loved the ACA. They hated “Obamacare” simply because they hated the “colored” guy and his family residing in their White House.

        • 65 jacquelineoboomer
          March 25, 2017 at 10:56 am

And, luckily, the Obama part – of whatever program they can mention – sat in the White House mostly unobstructed for 8 years, with his beautiful family, got things done, made everybody respect him at home and abroad, and marched off to the next phase of his life, big happy smile on his tender face.

Oops. I got carried away there. But we all know it’s true, and I’m glad we’re all smart enough to know it!

    • March 24, 2017 at 9:40 pm

I miss JackieG’s wisdom and level-headedness. I hope she’s thriving in all her current endeavors.

This is the first really good days for Democrats in what feels like a long time. I hope POTUS is in Tahiti having his own little private celebration, doing whatever he wants in his own way. Probably thinking of his Mom as well.

Yes, those are two of the very qualities I miss JG for; also in addition to your wish for her, I’m hoping that her mother-in-law and sister are both progressing well.

Honestly Meta, today’s victory is the first little ray of light that has actually penetrated my political fog. I am so very glad for it because I’d almost lost all hope of our being able to deter this Admin’s malicious bulldozer.

        • March 24, 2017 at 9:57 pm

I hear you. It’s a bit of mercy on this long dark road, just when we needed a new injection of hope. I’m so grateful for the way the good people of this country pulled together. I think the Women’s March on January 21st really showed us we could do it, gave us a strong measure of encouragement and faith in the greater good.

      • March 24, 2017 at 10:30 pm

Thanks to Lawrence for making that point. It still takes some fathoming if you have any feeling at all…GOP railed for SEVEN years against PBO for the great crime of delivering healthcare to America and saving countless lives. Meanwhile all other advanced nations have had Universal healthcare for quite some time.

    Good morning, NW and TODville.

Rep. Adam Schiff with the receipts:

  55. 135 CEB
    March 25, 2017 at 10:00 am

The media is once again keeping everyday citizens out of the story of what is going on politically. In everything that I have read about the fallout of the AHCA, all of them point to the lack of support from the so-called Freedom Caucus in the republican party as the reason for its failure. No mention of the town halls, the calls, the protests, the tweets, or anything else that activists did in the fight to uphold the ACA. It is like the only people who were part of this was 45, the House Republicans, and the reporters who somehow were flies on the wall to know what was going on. I see this as an attempt to depress activism as well as a show of contempt for the “little people” whose lives are so deeply affected by the decisions that those who are supposed to represent us make. If they do not mentions us maybe we will go away and leave them all in their little bubble while they move us like pawns in their power games. I say that we double-down in our grassroots efforts, informing and encouraging each other to become involved in the system and without, pressing for real change in how we are governed, using our informed voting power in every election and doing everything we can to shake these people up. It is so clear that most in congress, and this includes democrats, serve only themselves and doing whatever is necessary to keep their positions. Too many of them see keeping their positions as serving the interest of the powerful monied class.

  56. March 25, 2017 at 10:01 am

I really feel we owe these people a huge debt. Don’t know where we’d be without them providing so much concrete ideas and motivation.
