      #AlternateReality, indeed.

DJT has been living the good life because of other people (his inheritance, his capitulation to Russia and others involved in international money laundering [for Russians, etc.]) — he’s very weak, easily cowed.

When you have an honest, good product that helps people out, it stands on its own merits. Not to say that it’s perfect, but the heart behind help for all Americans with the very personal and potentially devastating business of healthcare…is why people rallied to save it. At its heart, Americans were helped by this. Republicans want to kill us all.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, President Obama. People are beginning to see that you were in their corner all along. You did great.

45/Ryan/GOP will now be spiteful and do all that they can to insure that the ACA will get less efficient/effective…45 is/will be doing EO’s to sabotage the act; GOP legislators will do their best to push through legislation that attacks various aspects of the act.

Whenever that happens, I hope that those in the know continue to alert us to prevent the GOP to put their spin on it and continue to try to blame PBO and the Democrats.

Having said that, I’m thrilled that the AHCA was pulled as well as the splintering of the GOP. Even more, it was gratifying to see the *disaster* that this process was with 45 and Ryan at the helm.

Since I don’t follow Mr. Murphy on Twitter, thank you Nena for sharing.

  37. March 24, 2017 at 4:35 pm

  38. March 24, 2017 at 4:42 pm

Let’s make clear and very public: Exactly what Ryan and Trump have already done to undermine the ACA/Obamacare.

    • March 24, 2017 at 4:45 pm

The Ryan Weasel said “Actually it is going to be getting ‘even worse'” when we know how the ACA is saving lives every day.
GOP is such a crowd of lying dirty dogs.

      • March 24, 2017 at 5:59 pm

Another thing…much of the AHCA seemed to be about appeasing the Insurance/Pharma industries. The insurance industries began pulling out of markets to try to manipulate the success/failure of the ACA. Some of the insurance industry’s antics were due to not being allowed to merge. So they, like 45, decided to take their ball and go home. Some companies, in their greed to try to abuse the system, made bad management decisions that they proceeded to blame on the ACA.

We can expect the insurance and pharma industries to continue to do their part to try to sabotage the ACA. They need to be called out when they do so, and their collusion with the GOP needs to be highlighted.

    • March 24, 2017 at 5:40 pm

No doubt that when 45 and the GOP say that the ACA is going to get worse, they’re doing everything in their power to make it so.

The Trump administration has already begun to transform the health insurance market, wielding executive power to rewrite coverage rules, slash Obamacare’s marketing budget and signal an all-out assault on his predecessor’s health care law. And Republicans have high expectations the administration will take additional measures to unwind Obamacare, such as targeting its contraception coverage requirement at the center of two recent religious liberty cases at the Supreme Court.

Can I not hear Rachel Maddow credit Bernie for saving ACA!!! She and Bernie started the narrative yesterday and it pissed me off like crazy, Bernie calling the Democrats “feeble”. I would like to ask Rachel what Bernie has done for the American people over the last 30 years he’s been in office. Running for president sure got into his head.

I remember Pence was the spokesperson at that meeting and he looked like such a putz compared to the President who was there all alone in the lion’s den. Pence was such a whiney baby even back then. That was the day I started really disliking Pence and it has never changed.

funny seeing so many republican statements looking so stupid now, and how those who know things look so good in these moments:

    • March 24, 2017 at 6:32 pm

While the GOP continues to play chess (didn’t know health care was this complicated…REALLY?!?!), PBO and his administration had been playing 3-D chess (is there such a thing?) and the impact is long-lasting. 😀

Well, for sure people the world over have been given a glaring view of GOP goals and motivation, the ruthless lack of concern, and even of simple respect and consideration, for any and all outside their specifically designated tag group. Perhaps this exposé of the true nature driving them will help people keep paying attention. The mostly surprised are the ones who voted them in. I pray they see what’s staring them right in the eye.

I think what people of the world are also seeing is us and democracy in action, even when faced with tyrannical behavior by our govt. We’re still making calls, going on social media, making ourselves heard, protesting, marching. And though I know from my own inner feelings- that I have felt outright violent in my outrage- I also know that how we’re doing this, how President Obama did it in January- is how it’s supposed to be done.

I agree with Ellison. The Republicans will tear this bill apart bit by bit, even if it means withholding financing for various parts of the ACA. They are in power and Trump will sign anything.

hehehehehe – I just read this little snippet in the Boston Globe (no doubt everywhere)

At the White House, Trump blamed Democrats for the defeat of the bill. He noted that no Democrat supported the bill.
Pelosi says, ‘‘We’ll take credit for that.’’
