ANALYSIS: “DONALD TRUMP IS GOING TO BE LIVID IF HIS HEALTH CARE BILL FAILS IN THE HOUSE.” … not only hates losing but also seems to refuse to accept it — either denying the loss entirely or putting the blame on someone (anyone) other than himself. … The most likely reaction… if the Republican-controlled House votes down the health-care proposal Thursday night then is anger — and payback. …

Interesting read on the Hawaii Republican switching to the Democratic Party.

‘ Fukumoto is a true moderate. She feels in general that there should be more party choices, but in Hawaii politics, it’s almost impossible to get on the ballot unless you’re an R or a D. Her two pet issues are transportation taxes (she opposes them) and affordable housing (she’s in favor of it). She supports same-sex marriage, although she voted against it in 2013 because that’s what she believed her district wanted. She is pro-choice but supports conscience exemptions for religious health care providers who do not want to perform abortions.
She’s not sure she would have come out against Trump four years ago when she first got elected. “I might’ve just said nothing,” she said. “I don’t think I realized until this election how dangerous it is to slowly give in to populism.” ‘

Frustrated by the expense, the president’s policies, and the overall inconvenience of having members of the first family in the area, many Aspen locals have taken to the streets to protest.

Many of the protesters, shown in the tweets below, are specifically speaking out against the President’s proposed Environmental Protection Agency cuts.

Others in the area might not be holding up signs in protest, but they’ve still made their irritation known. One New York mother, who is vacationing in Aspen as well, told Vanity Fair that “everyone is annoyed” by the Trump family’s presence.

Senators voted 50-48 to nix the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rule extending the amount of time a company can be penalized for failing to report workplace injuries and illnesses to five years.

Republicans are using the Congressional Review Act to take a hammer to rules instituted under the Obama White House. The law allows them to overturn recently published regulations with a simple majority.

With the House passing legislation overturning the regulation earlier this month, it will now head to President Trump’s desk, where it is expected to be signed.

Did any of you hear on LOD that Paul Ryan was the person who told Nunes to go straight to the WH? That was the first I had heard that. Would like to be able to verify it. LOD did not say where he learned that, but he did stress it/repeat it couple of times. He went over Nune’s background and pointed out all his connections and that he is in WAAAAAAAY over his head. If he did what he did today to try to protect 45, then he did the exact opposite.

Anyone seen any tweets about this? How Ryan may be involved?

Maybe Ryan wanted to throw Nunez under the bus by encouraging him to scurry over to the White House, if what I read is true.

    Good Morning TODVille.

Per CNN – A Jewish teenager was arrested in connection with a series of bomb threats that have rattled Jewish institutions and community centers across the US and another countries, Israeli police said.

Israeli police worked with the FBI during the months-long undercover investigation to identify the 19-year-old suspect, who used “advanced camouflage technologies” to cover his tracks, Micky Rosenfeld said.

The suspect holds dual American-Israeli citizenship, an Israeli security official told CNN.

[Good morning, NW, Ms. Chips, TODers!]

Former President Barack Obama’s presidential library isn’t just going to be about honoring the nation’s first black president, though that’s part of it.

The organizers of the Obama Center, to be built on Chicago’s South Side, are said to be planning a nonprofit to manage the potential economic impact the center is expected to have on nearby neighborhoods, according to a DNA Info report. The Obama Foundation, which is acquiring the funds to build and manage the library, is expected to partner with a number of local organizations, churches, and community groups, including South Shore Works, Washington Park Consortium, and Network of Woodlawn. The city is also working to help plot out the nonprofit.

“It’s very early in its development and we wanted to make sure we’re getting community input,” explained Charisse Conanan Johnson, a director for consultant Next Street, which was hired by the city’s community trust to research how to best set up such a nonprofit.

Our president 44ever, once a community organizer, always a community organizer. Our country and much of the world flourished under his care and he is continuing his work in this next stage of his life. I thank God that we had his at the helm for 8 years and his example of leadership and character has and will influence many more people who go into public life than the malignancy that we are currently plagued with.

      THIS IS TO GO VIRAL

    • March 23, 2017 at 11:19 am

Whaaaat?? But then of course why not? We women are in the BEST shape of our lives both mentally AND physically
just 8 weeks after giving birth. No post-partum depression, no sleepless nights, not gut still bulging. I would say all in all
we are just ready to go. To sum it up…. Trump and Ryan are certifiably crazy.

      • March 23, 2017 at 12:29 pm

Given their mentality, their point of reference is probably something like women giving birth in rice paddies and going right back to work…or something as outrageous [as Carson likening to slaves as immigrants].

A lot of companies are hesitant to hire a female with a young child because of the potential missed days/late to work due to illness and child care issues. But then, as usual, this is not something that will directly impact “them and theirs”. So why should they care?

    • 120 jacquelineoboomer
      March 23, 2017 at 2:15 pm

Gee, I wonder if the drafters of the AHCA have clauses that say where she’ll get the job when sometimes jobs are scarce, where she’ll get child care and the means to pay for it, where she’ll find transportation to and from the job and the means to pay for it, and other little things like that.
