Because we all know that the Koch Bros. control the purse strings…I hope this all comes crashing down on them…and those Koch’s can afford healthcare so FU, AMERICA!

Republicans considering whether or not to back U.S. President Donald Trump’s healthcare reforms in a crucial House of Representatives vote this week face a painful choice.

If they vote against, they could face the wrath of a vengeful and combative president. If they vote for it, they risk retribution from the billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch and other powerful right-wing players whose money can be pivotal in re-election races.

As Trump faces the most formidable, high-stakes negotiation of his presidency, the fierce battle in the U.S. Congress over his plan to replace Obamacare is a test of whether Republicans will trust him with their political futures at the risk of alienating deep-pocketed conservative advocacy groups.

As Trump and leaders in the House round up support for the bill ahead of a planned Thursday vote, some groups are threatening to retaliate against those who do support it, including the Club for Growth, the Heritage Foundation’s political arm, and Americans for Prosperity, which is part of the expansive political pressure network established by the Koch brothers.

All three groups are “keying” the vote, which means it will be a factor in determining whether the groups deem a lawmaker to be sufficiently conservative. That opens up the possibility that some Republicans who vote in favor of the bill could face a primary challenge in next year’s congressional elections and may not be able to count on help from the Kochs and others.

Condescending Pete Sessions. Evidently thinks voters are stupid.

“But members also are having problems with people back home, and that’s the problem. It’s the people back home who are being very vocal, who are in a lot of these conservative groups that do not understand the bill because it has not been sold properly to them. That’s the real problem. Not the President. Not whether they do or don’t want to vote,” Sessions said. “The people back home are not sold on what we’re doing yet, and that’s partially my fault also. I’ve tried to take the time to explain to the American people why we’re doing this, but we recognize it’s back home voter, not Washington, D.C. voter.”

“It’s a matter of giving confidence of the American people. I will confess, at the very top there’s a lack of understanding of how to sell this bill,” the congressman later added.

Despite his acknowledgement that voters do not support the legislation, Sessions said that Republicans will definitely bring the bill to the House floor for a vote on Thursday.

“Thursday is definitely the day,” he said.

I’m not really absent from TOD for long, Jojo, as this is my virtual family and home. 😉
Truth is that Life 101 has had a grip on me since after the election. My mother spent nearly 2 months in the hospital starting in mid-November, and while she’s now back at home with my sister, she is no longer mobile. So, you can imagine the impact this has on the family! I tend to unwind in the village nightly, but since the ruling monarch’s actions astound me day after day I’m generally quiet.

No expression of sadness or concern for the victims…He’s unbelievable.
Any wonder that this is also breaking:

“Melania,” a family source alleges in the new issue of Us Weekly, “does not keep hidden from everyone around her how miserable she is”… even on the rare occasions when they sleep in the same city. “They have separate bedrooms,” says another Trump insider. “They never spend the night together — ever”…Upset with the former reality star for trapping her in a life she despises, “Melania wants as little to do with Donald as possible,” explains the family source.

    • March 22, 2017 at 12:37 pm

Are we supposed to feel sorry for her? She can’t shop as often as she used to? Melania apparently can’t care beyond her privileged, selfish, pathetic little universe.

Let’s be clear: if Michelle Obama or any Democratic FLOTUS did this little for for the country or anyone for that matter, squandered American tax dollars while her husband literally rips food from children and seniors, she’s as sociopathic as he is.

I see not one ounce of humanity in her. Poor thing.

Does she have to worry if she or Barron get sick? What are her troubles compared to 52M Americans who will either lose health care or no longer have the opportunity to get insurance? Does she care what it costs a family if someone gets sick, with jobs on the line in addition to trying to care for a sick loved one? Pay the bills? The stress alone is making Americans ill. At least ACA and Dems tried their damned best to make life easier for the American people.

Sorry. This story makes her contemptible. I was not going to criticize her, but she has invited it. The Trumps are sociopaths. Every last one of them.

Secret Service likely to cut cybercrime investigations to pay for Trump’s weekly Mar-a-Lago trips

The Washington Post notes that the Secret Service this year requested an additional $60 million in funding to help protect Trump and his family, who have unusually elaborate living and travel arrangements.

The Post reports that the Office of Management and Budget rejected the Secret Service’s funding proposal, which means that it will have to take away resources from other areas to pay the additional costs of keeping the First Family safe.

I have not been able to find a definitive answer, but we must assume that if ACA is repealed and replaced, only the replacement is law. If these benefits are not continued in Trumpcare, then they are gone. Drugs will be more expensive for seniors. And didn’t the Liar-in-Chief say he was going to negotiate drug prices? Crickets.

I really, really don’t care what kind of relationship Melania and Trump have. What goes on in their marriage is their business. The only thing that concerns me is that my tax dollars have to pay for their dysfunction. The Republicans would have had a fit and the media would have been complicit in their outrage had our FLOTUS even given a single thought to such a thing.

#45 should have to reimburse the U.S. Treasury for his marital woes.

    • 110 57andfemale
      March 22, 2017 at 2:43 pm

I also care that she has a position as FLOTUS, a God damned job when she hasn’t worked a minute in 15 years, to represent this country in a meaningful way. I am offended that Michelle Obama or any other Dem would have been the subject of vicious ridicule and outrage if they hadn’t done something, and we’re supposed to feel sorry for her because the sociopath she married isn’t interested in her at 45?

She could do something. She could make a difference. She could pay back this country that gave her citizenship and a billionaire husband. I’m outraged, but as Dems we’re not allowed to do that. Only here can I voice how odious I think she is. So again we cede the narrative to the sociopaths who wouldn’t give us an inch on ANYTHING.

And let’s remember. The wife of the candidate chosen by Evangelicals was a tramp and a porn model. Please.

Spare me the lecture, people, on how we’re better than that. At the very least Democrats should be pointing out the good the Michelle and Hillary did as FLOTUS, the inspiration and educators they were. And ask their esteemed “colleagues” if Melania Trump is in the same league. At least do that. But no, we’re too afraid GOP will be outrageous. They’re outrageous anyway.

Do not preach to me that she’s “raising her son.” So are millions of working mothers across this nation, without a safety or health security.

          Selfish sociopath.

This was part of the Camden County Democratic County Committee’s hosting Monday’s day of action making calls to prevent republican legislatures passing Trump’s/republican policies.
