        GA Mary.

Wonderful for you to tweet this. Someone here was asking about the top photo awhile ago…

This is the photo that should be in dictionaries for the word “tender,” to describe the gentle caring and loving of that particular usage of the word. 🙂

        • March 8, 2017 at 6:42 pm

Your right, Arapaho! The tender care
and love shown there clutches at my heart every time I see it. Mighty Pamela, as she then was, found it for me several years ago when i couldn’t find it anywhere. That’s how she became known as Mighty! I can look at that picture for hours.

Ahhh, the backstory for MP (waves, will thank her later on a thread that’s current, not one that’s been superseded).

Funny, you might be the person I had in mind when I said someone here… but it has been awhile, probably two (?) or more years, so can’t remember who was asking, but like you, I was smitten with this photo.

The baby looks so young, fragile, and vulnerable — the way this country feels today with our current FUBAR president (maybe not so young, but we’re looking mighty fragile and vulnerable — how we miss PBO and his team of dedicated hard-working patriots).

PBO’s first 50 days accomplishments list must be retweeted far and wide, re-published in print media, and mentioned on all broadcast shows that at not 45’s cheering squad. People need to remember what it looks like to get shit done. I remember when the petty, dishonest media and the lazy ass congress were complaining; they actually said that PBO was doing too much (mostly because it sowed how little they did). He asked hem with exasperation: “What would you have me not do?” and starting listing some of the emergency things that had to be done. He made them all look small and petty, not because of what he said, but because of the work that he was doing; especially on things that people had said could not be done. I have not forgiven or forgotten how the media carried water for the GOP for 8 years and stood in the way of progress by making his job harder. The only reason most are speaking out now is because they see themselves in a fight for their own credibility and solvency.

Some people amaze me with the gall they have than again no they don’t. I wonder how in the HELL these people would think PBO would HELP him after insulting him over and over for 8yrs and continues to insult him. Why the Hell would PBO help him with the media and to lie for him?

I do not like these type of headlines nor do I like the article. It is full of fluff, and personal opinion. The only concrete statement is the one where Donald accuses PBO of wiretapping his residence.

The rest of this article reads like it should be in one of those supermarket tabloids.

I do not like the terminology – PBO isn’t “furious” – he does not listen to Trump – being the adult in the room he allows his spokespeople to reply to the buffoon.

Feds are launching a criminal probe into WikiLeaks’ publication of documents detailing alleged CIA hacking operations, several US officials say.

The FBI and CIA are coordinating reviews of the matter, the officials say. The investigation is looking into how the documents came into WikiLeaks’ possession and whether they might have been leaked by an employee or contractor.

The CIA is also trying to determine if there are other unpublished documents WikiLeaks may have.

The documents published so far are largely genuine, officials say, though they are not yet certain if all of them are or whether some of the documents may have been altered.

He was and is a grown-ass man who has a thick skin, a spine of steel and a heart that keeps on beating to make us and the country better than he found it.

It often brings tears to my eyes when I see photos of how young children just hold so tightly to PBO and MO with their faces lit with joy. The Obamas know the power of touch, especially for children and the elderly and so many were blessed by their warmth and openness. You look at those photos from children and adults all over the world, of every ethnicity and you know that you are seeing something special.

Yes and it’s such a stark contrast to what came before and what came after. The Obamas were uniquely suited for the People’s House. We felt their warmth in every photo and video we witnessed.

I agree touch being powerful. After my husband died at 52 yrs old a few months before our 30th anniversary. I realized more than anything I missed being touched. There was some sort of school district notice about not wanting teachers to touch students that I ignored. Our staff greeted the students in the hall outside our classroom door each morning. It served a double purpose in that it slowed the children down to avoid collisions from running as well as greeting your own class each morning. My third grade students knew about my husband’s death and gave me big comforting hugs each morning that empowered me and I hugged them back which I think helped get their day off to a good start. When those same students were in fourth grade and fifth grade needing to walk further down the hall past me they still stopped and hugged me each morning.

    Morning TOD.

For those of you who follow the work of Al Giordano and the School for Authentic Journalism, you may know that Al is undergoing chemo these days, and thus cannot focus on the necessary fundraising needed to raise the funds for the 2017 school. So they started a Kickstarter fund and are about half way to their goal of $30K. There are only 9 days left to raise the funds, otherwise the school will not occur this year. If you can donate something to his wonderful school, or wish to find out more go to

      • March 8, 2017 at 5:54 pm

        Good Afternoon, arapaho415.

I’ve always believed that before you come in and start making changes, you need to first understand what it is that you are changing and the impact of the changes you are considering.

45, does not know much about the things he should know in his capacity as POTUS/CIC. And because he believes he knows more than anyone else, he hasn’t bothered to try to learn.

I guess because the Coast Guard doesn’t get the high visibility that the other branches of the military does, 45 thinks it’s not as necessary.

As much as it annoys me to be subjected to screening when going through the airport, I endure it because this is part of keeping us safe. But Mr. National Security wants to reduce the budget of the TSA to build a wall (the wall that was not going to cost US citizens ANYTHING; the wall that Mexico was going to pay for) that will probably have little impact to our safety. Perhaps he is pushing to privatize this.

When I see how 45 makes knee-jerk decisions with little to know information from the people who have the knowledge and experience, it makes me appreciate more — and rue the loss of — a President who made thoughtful, intelligent, strategic, and considerate decisions; someone who was willing to learn; someone who run off at the mouth without knowing what he was speaking about. A leader who led by motivating and inspiring; not intimidating.

I hope daily that this so-called president will be removed from office before he does much more damage and before it’s too late to recover from what he has already done.

The GOP think it’s a wonderful thing that their healthcare bill contains a lot fewer pages than the ACA. All it says to me is that there was a lot less thought — and CARE — put into this proposed bill…robbing Peter (the poor/seniors/working class) to pay Paul (Corporate CEO’s/millionaires/billionaires). The GOP proclaimed “death panels” under ACA. IMO AHCA(Ryancare/Trumpcare) includes its own brand of ethnic cleansing.

Asians started getting paid on the same level as whites a few decades ago which helped to put many of them in the middle class. There was an article on this a few months ago; sorry, I do not remember the source.

Yeah, once he was told that the POTUS was excluded from the conflict of interest rule, he has been going full speed ahead continuing to run his businesses. However, he seems to be violating the Emolument Clause “bigly”.

  51. March 8, 2017 at 6:12 pm

rst daughter Ivanka Trump’s move to Washington D.C. has led her to take up residence in a $5.5 million dollar home purchased after the election by a Chilean billionaire locked in a huge financial dispute with the government over mining rights in the U.S.

The upscale home in the Kalorama neighborhood was purchased in late December by a company controlled by Andrónico Luksic whose family is one of the wealthiest in Chile with a fortune estimated at $13.1 billion, reports the Journal.

Another one of Luksic’s companies is currently fighting the U.S. government after the Obama administration blocked their plans to build a giant copper-and-nickel mine next to a Minnesota wilderness area, citing environmental concerns. The company is currently urging the Trump administration to allow them to go forward with the development which could generate billions in profits.

The Justice Department has since asked the court for a 60-day delay in the case to allow “time to brief incoming administration officials” on its details.

“It is something we are actively reviewing,” an Interior spokeswoman said.

Critics have frequently argued the Trump family’s vast business empire may present a conflict of interest to the president and his administration.
