Annular Eclipse of the Sun: February 26, 2017. 8♓️12. An annular eclipse is when a narrow ring of the Sun is visible beyond the dark mask of the Moon. This eclipse is visible from southern South America, Antarctica, southern Africa, the south Pacific Ocean, and the south Atlantic Ocean. The annular path at maximum is 20 miles wide. Central eclipse ar local apparent noon: 14:38.7GMT. 9:58amEST. 6:58amPST. Followed by a beautiful Moon-Neptune conjunction 6 hours later. Remember, we may not be situated in a region of visibility, but the energetic power is easily felt, if we pay attention! It always seems to be a time of deep stillness and silence, even the birds seem quiet. For me, at least. ❤🙏🏻🌕🌑🌏

So agree. I think that both Moore and Sanders are opportunists and self promoters. They talk but do not walk the walk. Thank you Nerdy for keeping this space open. When I heard the cheers for our forever President, I laughed and cried and felt deep satisfaction that Trump would never have that spontaneous expression of love and delight.

    Tom Perez 213 1/2 votes
    Keith Ellison 200 votes
215 votes needed to win, they will have a re-vote soon.

Exactly!!!! This goes both ways. Can’t start out with this division talk.

    • February 25, 2017 at 3:15 pm

I thought I saw recently a tweet from Ellison saying that he and Perez are okay with each other…to which Perez concurred. If Ellison loses, yes, Perez should reach out, but Ellison should play a big part in building the bridges.

If getting rid of 45/Pence and take seats from GOP representatives (state and federal) especially those that have/are colluding with 45 is not enough of a reason to come together, then the Democratic Party is in more trouble than we thought.

If Nina and the Bernie wing leave the DNC if Ellison doesn’t win … does that mean if Perez doesn’t win, then, the non Berniecrats should do the same???

Split the party? Party over country? One way to ensure Republican control of the country for a long time.

I have to say that I do not really care who wins as DNC head because it has made no difference to my city nor my state. Most democrats have no idea who the chairman is n or what he/she does outside of fundraising. While I am not a wonk, I am not completely clueless and I had no idea who any of these people were from Wasserman to those running, were. I knew about Donna Brazile from her work on Al Gore’s campaign and her appearances on the talk shows during the Bush years, but that is it. Top down does not work and whoever becomes chairman will need to learn to work as OFA does. PBO did not come from the DNC and he and we were the better for it.

    • February 25, 2017 at 3:15 pm

There are some structural issues that need to be dealt with institutionally: gerrymandering and voter suppression. The DNC must take these on and make progress.

    • 73 Don
      February 25, 2017 at 3:18 pm

President Obama endorsed and encouraged Tom Perez to run for the DNC Chair. Perez will do things the OFA way and he will build from the grassroots up, you are correct in saying that top down does not work. There is no better example than the rise of President Obama and his beginnings as a community organizer.

    February 25, 2017 at 3:51 pm

Geez, just checked out the comments on a FB announcement of Perez’ win– what a bunch of whiny Bernie wankers! “I’ll never give the Dems money again!” “Dems deserve to lose from now on!” and my favorite: “Corporatists take over the party!”

Honestly, I’m so very tired of these tired phrases. Especially because I can catch the whiff of right-wing propaganda that has influenced their thinking. Crazy how I have gone from pride and a sense of progress to utter disgust in just a few months.

    • 115 mtmarilyn
      February 25, 2017 at 5:05 pm

I so agree. I am tired of their purity. Where do the think the money and jobs are going to come from. We need to reward the corporations that work with employees. And Wall Street is here to stay. We just need to better control them. Can’t do that when you think of them only as the enemy.

Good day TOD! Nerdy, thank you so much for these lovely clips and photos of PBO. Seeing him out and about with Malia made my day!

And I am thrilled that Tom Perez is going to be the next DNC chair. He has the experience of running a large organization and the background as a civil rights attorney, both of which will be helpful on the ongoing fight. I did not have anything against Keith Ellison (other than Bernie’s endorsement of him) but he simply did not have the experience that Perez does which is critical. Finally, it will be helpful to have him maintain his role in Congress.

A good day (they have been few and far between).

Or he just found out most media organizations are not going to be represented, certainly no celebrity worth their salt will be attending which gives an unfavorable comparison with that of PBO’s 8 years in office. He also knows the public will not be watching, they will be watching some other competing show, perhaps a non-white house correspondents’ association dinner.
