(from last post) phuck steve schit-for-brains and all these all-of-a-sudden “reasonable republicans” that “the news” trot out constantly instead of the people who have been correct for decades – democrats. this is the idiot who ran the campaign that decided to bring sarah palin one heartbeat away from being the president. the tundra twit is one of the only people who still seems as nutz as cheato benito. mark my words…this schmidt, rick wilson, and all these other charlatans will be singing the praises of mike pence and paul ryan and the other news-dubbed reasonable republicans within the next few months. and no one, not one single person in the major “news” will point out how all these same people campaigned for and voted for these traitors to america. not one. but there will be incessant commentary about how democrats do the same things and are just as bad as donnie chump.

keeping taxes and regulations off the libertarian billionaires is what all this insanity is about (i.e. protecting trickle-down economics). literally 100% of the modern republican party endorses this, and it’s just that nut jobs such as donnie draft-dodger make it a harder sell to the public, so they eventually have to cut bait. afterward the “reasonable repubs” will be ready to fill the void and advance the exact same trickle-down goals. “the news” will be there every step of the way to promote the reasonable repubs and dismiss democrats…24/7. end result is the same either way. community organizing is the only way to defeat them, as president obama showed and continues to show us.

I whole-heartedly agree, 4more. This all of a sudden Schmidt, McCain, Rubio, Cruz – aren’t they brave and ever so awesome – is MALARKEY. Not falling for this bs of “reasonable republicans”. No such thing. They have sat by throughout this horror show that THEY brought on and I will never forgive or forget.

      one thing I have believed and voiced is that something bigger was going on behind the scenes;

      yes, the letter about HRC “new emails” that was made public just before the election was disruptive to the election;

but there seemed to be much more going on …. based on PBO’s reaction to the release & to Comey, and also after the election was stolen.

      • 22 susanne
        February 18, 2017 at 12:51 am

Yes, I also believe there is another whole story under the surface. And I believe PBO has engineered a lot of it. For instance, that order for sanctions on Russia in December– funny how it’s getting a whole lot of 45’s people in trouble now 🙂

As all of you know, though I find it nearly incredulous that he’s been leading a ‘sting’ since way before the Election and did what he’s done as necessary aspects of destroying the enemy.

But, I still have a tiny glimmer of hope that Comey really is the person President Obama respected so much and refused to condemn or slight in any way even after what was an obvious attempt to ensure that HRC would lose – something Trump and all the folk around him didn’t think was possible even on Election Day morning.

Without any doubt, if it’s his intent to bring a bunch of traitors to justice, he is in precisely the position to do it.

        goodnight TOD ….

President Donald Trump, living alone inside the White House, often hungers for friendly interaction as he adjusts to the difficult work of governance. At his clubs, he finds what’s missing.

That showed last November at a cocktail and dinner reception celebrating longtime members of his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club. Deep into the process of meeting potential Cabinet nominees, the president-elect invited partygoers to stop by the next day to join the excitement.

“We’re doing a lot of interviews tomorrow — generals, dictators, we have everything,” Trump told the crowd, according to an audio tape of his closed-press remarks obtained by POLITICO from a source in the room. “You may wanna come around. It’ll be fun. We’re really working tomorrow. We have meetings every 15, 20 minutes with different people that will form our government.”

“We’re going to be interviewing everybody — Treasury, we’re going to be interviewing Secretary of State,” he continued. “We have everybody coming in — if you want to come around, it’s going to be unbelievable….so you might want to come along.”

As he prepares to spend the third straight weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, the tape provides a window into how Trump conducts himself away from the prying press and among the loyal faces of his club.

I am just so heartened to see this. There was an elementary school teacher from South Carolina last night on Rachel. Organized a petition requesting Tim Scott and Lindsay Graham to hold town halls. She got about 4,000 signatures and got a story on the local news. Scott quickly hitched his wagon to have a town hall with another Congressman early this morning, only announcing last night.

The woman lives three hours away, so she will not attend. Also of note, she said she voted for both Scott and Graham.

Desperate people, huddled in fear fleeing persecution, following the North Star to Canada and the hope of freedom. Not the 19th century, but America in 2017. Shame, shame, shame! Those with hardened hearts will be judged. I know as surely as I breathe, that there will be a time , once again, that we will need refuge and it will be refused. The payment for vil acts will come due sooner than many think. It just broke my heart and caused a psychic wound to see pictures and videos of drown and black people once again fleeing the horrors of life in this country. I felt I in my very bones. We must do everything we can to rid ourselves of this evil regime and to build our society up so that never again the vicious hate of too many of us will be in positions of power to do so much wrong.

Dear God…because let’s deny and indoctrinate them early!

Almost 20 years ago, the U.S. Energy Information Administration had an idea: Make an educational website for children about energy sources and the science behind them.

In short order, the EIA created “Energy Kids,” which now features energy-themed sudoku and crossword puzzles, colorful pie charts and a know-it-all mascot called Energy Ant. Images of a school bus parked between a coal plant and an oil rig adorn the bottom of the web page, along with drawings of wind turbines, solar panels and an energy-efficient lightbulb.

During the Obama administration, Energy Kids even won multiple international awards for its content and design, as well as one from a digital publishing company that hailed it as “the best of the best in open and engaging government.”

The Trump administration, it seems, wasn’t altogether impressed with the site or its awards. In recent weeks, language on the website describing the environmental impacts of energy sources has been reworked, and two pie charts concerning the link between coal and greenhouse gas emissions have been removed altogether.

i’ve been getting annoyed at these “journalists” acting all outraged now with the cheato benito being mean to them, since all they’ve ever done is frame every single issue they’ve ever covered in republican talking points all these years, so they helped build this monster. jessica yellin, who is acting all surprised now, is one that used to rankle me a lot, and found this here and reminded how brilliant president obama is. these answers are amazing, especially when comparing to any republican talk, not just donnie draft-dodger’s insanity:

      I love this clip…

        February 18, 2017 at 12:17 pm

i know, right? even with all the empathic things he said in this answer which show how he really knows what it’s like to be an average joe and clear explanations of the inner workings of government, i remember when this happened all “the news” talked about was the combining of star wars and star trek references. i know they acted as if it was just having some fun, but i feel it served the same purpose they always have, which is to chip away at forever president’s image in the eyes of the public. i see tons of these articles even searching now, and not one came up about the substance of what he talked about in this answer. example:

i notice mark knoller was in on that of course with his usual snark directed at forever president. i’ve been watching his twitter feed last few weeks and there’s been literally none of that with donnie draft-dodger despite literal insanity happening right in front of them. just republican stenography. how they “report” on the cheeto duster in comparison to something like this clip above shows how extreme the difference is. disgusting.

Every morning I start my day two ways: This blog, and the weather channel. This morning was all about the floods in California. I lived in California two times in my life: in my youth in San Francisco and in my young adulthood in the L.A../San Bernardino area. So, I follow the entire state. The places are all familiar to me, and I still have a heartfelt interest in what’s happening. Please stay safe dear friends.

Like an elephant, I have a long memory, I remember during press conferences President Obama would get asked some of the most asinine questions that a journalist could ask. For his part President Obama remained cool calm and collected as always. At times some of their questions were dripping with contempt or they were nothing more than Republican talking points disguised at serious fact-finding questions. Commentators on tv didn’t fare much better, from MSNBC to Fox to CNN the whole lot of them always seemed to have an agenda when it came to questioning the Obama Administration. The Obama Administration in my opinion went out of its way to treat the press not as enemies, but as honest brokers intent on fairly questioning the Obama Administration about its policies. Now comes Trump, Trump treats the press with utter contempt. Trump pisses on the press on a daily basis and now they complain about getting wet. But this is what they invited, and in some ways cosigned when they looked the other way as Trump spewed venom along the campaigned trail. Some of the press seemed to get-off on the vileness that poured out of Trump’s bankrupted mouth. And now we are stuck with a President that walks around as if he’s a conquering king but in reality is devoid of even the rudimentary knowledge of being a leader, and a limp-dick feckless press begging to be taken seriously as it stumbles around in the dark looking for its dwindling supply of Cialis, or Viagra if you can deal with the pounding headaches. If I listen closely I can still hear though faintly “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for”, I know one thing, and that is that we had better hurry up before it’s too late.

Every time I hear some more rotten stuff about Trump being revealed by some news outlet, I think “Where were you during the campaign?” They did everything they could to undermine President Obama. In every election from 2008 through 2016 they treated every lie from the Republicans as equal to the facts the Dems gave. While I am glad they are now-sort of- waking up enough to do their job, I have a difficulty time choking down the anger and the feeling that they’re getting just what they deserve. But those feelings don’t get us anywhere.

    • February 18, 2017 at 3:25 pm

Any reasons given for Melania not moving into the WH should have been considered BEFORE 45’s decision to run.

They 45 should personally eat the cost of providing security at a second residence…and weekly jaunts to the “Winter WH/Southern WH” should not be lining his pockets at the taxpayers expense.

Wish media would show a weekly/cumulative total of what it is costing us for 45 and his family to maintain their lifestyle…and compare it to the cost of the safety nets that the GOP wants to cut…especially compare the number of people who benefiting in both cases.

  48. February 18, 2017 at 3:14 pm

A very long, but very clear article about Trump and the dangers we face. The most important thing to me is that he has GOP support because he is carrying out their agenda. From the article:

“Nearly a week after he was sworn in, according to Gallup, Trump’s net approval rating had dropped eight points—and this was before the issuance of his disastrous immigration order. The Republicans can be expected to tolerate him as long as they have reason to fear the intensity of his followers, but if the time comes when he becomes too politically costly for them to support, they’d be quite comfortable with Mike Pence as an alternative.”

He has an 86% approval rating among his supporters. Trump and the party will not be getting any blowback form the people who are important to them.
