      GA Judith.

Posted this yesterday in response to Bobfr:

BTW, who is the sketch in your tweet?

      in response to this…

      • February 16, 2017 at 6:40 pm

        GA arapaho415.

I have no doubt that the “press conference” today was for the purpose of distracting the media and us from other things that are going on…like deploying the cruise missile(s) and the fact that there is a Russian spy ship that started off the coast of CT and has now moved south and is off the coast of VA.

NEW LONDON, Connecticut (WABC) — The Russian spy ship that was hovering off the coast of New London, Connecticut, about 30 miles from a U.S. Navy submarine base, is on the move.

A US official said the Viktor Leonov started heading south, and by Thursday morning, it was 75 miles northeast of Norfolk, Virginia.

It is believed the ship will continue heading further south, still about 30 miles from the shoreline. US territorial waters extend 12 miles from shore, so the vessel is well into international waters.

Its current path will likely take it past Kings Bay, Georgia, the other main Navy sub base on the East Coast.

Or that 45 signed a bill undoing the Obama coal mining rule…

Or the trademark that China granted to him after he became president and after his reversal on the one China…

But a lot of the focus right now is on the loony press conference.

China doing this is very normal, they deal with many corrupt governments around the world (mostly “third world”), since there is no accountability over there they are just adding one more corrupt govt to their list of nations and doing what they have always done.

So the US shows itself to be just like any other corrupt govt in the world. I suppose she will feature in “the most corrupt countries in the world” list soon.

          • February 16, 2017 at 8:50 pm

Sadly, it’s gone even beyond party before country. It’s Self-Interest before party and party is now just the means to gain whatever position will be the most profitable.

Arapaho, my mom’s drawing is of Erlichman, one of Nixon’s henchmen in Watergate. She drew 8 of the perps while watching the hearings in the mid 70s.

          GM Judith.

          Thanks for the backstory.

Wonderful that your Mom is so talented. (Knew I should have recognized sketch, but it escaped me yesterday.)

Most of the US is too young to remember how inescapable the Watergate hearings were, and how shocked this nation was as Nixon continued to lie and fire people.

At least back then some in Congress and Senate were capable of putting country before party — seems unclear to me whether that is true today. 😦

I actually heard a (good) portion of DJT’s “press conference,” which sounded like the same DJT that I’ve heard for far too long.

Guess it played a little differently on television (craziest press conference in history… ).

This one cracks me up. Surely, if they wanted to, they could have found a more dignified and convenient accommodation for him. Plus, in the article, T is quoted as complaining to the Saudis about the miseries of flying without your own plane.

    • February 16, 2017 at 6:51 pm

I bet Tillerson is starting feel that this isn’t what he signed up for…disgruntled because of being excluded from meetings; now this travel thing. How long before he says, “Forget this!!!”???

    • 52 99ts
      February 16, 2017 at 6:56 pm

      Hahahaha – incompetence everywhere

“On his first trip abroad as U.S. secretary of state, Rex Tillerson was forced to stay at a sanitarium in a German village known for its hot springs, 30 minutes from where other world leaders gathered. Diplomatic security agents mingled in the parking lot with elderly people in wheelchairs arriving for spa treatments.

Tillerson, the former head of Exxon Mobil Corp., was at the sanitarium because Bonn’s hotels were all booked by the time he confirmed his attendance at this week’s Group of 20 meeting. Counterparts including U.K. Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson had to make a trek out to meet him.”

trump only cares about his own accommodation. Reminds me of a guy I used to work for – we travelled alot – he stayed at 5* I stayed at 3*

” One of the dismissed staffers includes Carolyn Wiles, director of scheduling, and daughter of Trump’s Florida campaign manager. She instead will get a job at the Treasury Department, sources told Politico. ”

That’s right– she’s not safe enough for scheduling, but the Treasury is perfectly fine.

F**ker has to pay people to show up. On the day, we should find photos of the long lines of people who waited hours for PBO in cold weather or rain (unlike the 80% weather in Florida). We are paying millions so this cretin can hear paid for cheers; sad, pitiful, and enraging. Looking forward to Pete trolling this sad sack mess.

Headline is a little exagerated… “will” should probably be “might”

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA), who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, told MSNBC’s Greta Van Susteren that he’s worried President Donald Trump’s Sec. of Defense James Mattis will eventually resign because “his boss is so crazy.”

Mattis has worked under both Democratic and Republican administrations.

“We’re lucky to have Mattis there,” Moulton said. “He’s one of the only sane people in the administration. My only concern with Gen. Mattis is that he’s going to resign because his boss is so crazy.”

Moulton also talked about the problem with Trump’s immigration ban as it impacts some of the Arab translators that helped soldiers like him overseas.

“Rep. Don Young – Alaska’s sole Congressman, formerly a licensed trapper — is seeking to unwind a carefully crafted decision by experts working on the ground and managing our national wildlife refuges in Alaska. His resolution (H.J.Res.69), enabled under the Congressional Review Act, would not only allow the killing of bears and wolves in and around their dens, but it would allow trophy hunters to use aircraft to scout and chase grizzly bears and then land and shoot them. It would also allow the use of giant leghold traps and snares to kill grizzly bears and black bears. Please call your representative to help protect our wildlife the proceedings during the period from February 17, 2017, through February 24, 2017!
