PM Abe and Trump just made on-camera statements on N. Korea. Not sure but I think all Trump said was we’re behind Japan our ally 100%. Guess that was all he could memorize with short notice. He is such an embarrassment I could throw a shoe at the teevee!

Hopefully TODville will see this on Sunday morning (most are getting a good night’s rest).

Tweeter bio: “Only works for HRCs. Rapid Response @HRC. Was: @hillaryclinton @thedemocrats @terrymcauliffe @Marshalls.”

I watched the clip (figured I could endure 2 minutes of DJT), and he literally looked like a puppet, not like a human at all.

Maybe there will be an effort to remove Trump based on his demonstrated knowledge of this action revealed by his own words. Its enough. However there is so much more and maybe the IC is trying to show as few of their cards as possible and still get him out.

Maybe he should follow the strategy of the REAL PRESIDENT who was in the office for the last 8 years. He thinks he has to “develop” a brand-new strategy, so he can smack his brand on it. Unless something’s changed, fool, your strategy should be maintaining the status quo of the person who preceded you, and that would be President Obama – who actually had a brain and who kept us OUT of war with No. Korea.

Not on my island, but so happy to see her in my state!
‘ On Saturday, Ginsburg was soft-spoken and funny, engaging the audience with questions and making jokes about her age (“In ancient days when I went to high school…”).
The justice declined to take questions from news media and only answered questions that came from high school students. ‘

Good evening TOD. Nerdy, thank you for keeping this space for us. What is happening in the immigrant communities around the country is heartbreaking. I am having a very difficult time staying positives. There were reports yesterday that ICE agents in Austin were following school buses to get to the kids’ parents. This is sick. And now, apparently, it will be churches tomorrow. What about just going after criminals? Cannot believe a single word that comes from this administration. Liars one and all.

      GM FFTX.

ICE is initiating the beginning of what DJT hopes is a police state.

School buses and places of worship are no longer justifiable havens.

In Los Angeles, they’re doing it the old-fashioned way — pre-dawn raids:

I only heard this report once this morning (early local time), but the person who was arrested wasn’t the person ICE had a warrant for (teh warrant was for his fiance’s ex-boyfried).

My understanding of the President’s (Obama of course) efforts on immigration were to police the borders (least illegal border crossing in forever now), bring employers up on fines or charges for trying to labor traffic by abusing illegal immigrants (Bush tried to cover for them), and to coordinate law enforcement and ICE so that offenders that were here illegally would not fall through the cracks and could be removed from communities they might be harming (usually their own people). The Dreamers and Immigrant Justice groups joined him in formulating a path to citizenship for those here that were not harming anyone and the Immigration Reform bill passed the Senate with something like 68 votes only to die in the House. The majority of the country supports this bill which also would have been a plank of the GOP platform in the old days. It is my contention that given all of this evidence, President Trump is simply a bigot and xenophobe and is complying with white supremacy feelings.

If employers cannot exploit the undocumented then what would be their motivation to hire someone in that category if others wanted the jobs and were qualified?

Does anyone know about the agency the Repubs just eliminated the Election Assistance Comission. They say it’s the only federal agency that makes sure voting machine can’t be hacked. One of my rwnj friends said there are many agencies who cover this and it’s just an example of government overreach. I need to find out more about it.

Here’s a couple of tweets on this subject:

It was a House Committee that voted to eliminate this agency. This is why it’s so important that constituents remind their GOP reps that these critters work for them — and are keeping tabs on them trying to undermine American democracy:

Some great quotes, but since it’s the wee hours on the east coast now, will post tomorrow at a more welcoming hour.

The real benefit of confronting GOP Congresscritters is to apply pressure for them to ACT and not cower before the inept empty suit who currently occupies the Oval Office.

I don’t know how feasible this would be since most of us wage earners have our taxes automatically deducted from our wages, but I think it’s absolutely crucial that all of us who oppose Trump’s policies–on immigration; the building of the wall on the Mexican border, voter suppression of non-white voters; the GOP drive to repeal the ACA (a.k.a Obama Care)–must launch a massive tax revolt to deprive Trump the money to fund his idiotic schemes. After all, didn’t Trump tell us that he is smart for not paying taxes because he didn’t want his tax money to go to wasteful government spending? I certainly don’t want my tax dollars to be wasted on a stupid wall or funding private schools, like the Trump University, that end up defrauding students because they are not accountable to any one!

It’s bad. In addition to the 8 GOP seats in red states, there are 23 Dem seats up, including Blue Dogs, and 2 Independent. We are in for a real tough road ahead.

          February 12, 2017 at 9:46 am

I think these protest are having the desired effect, even in red states in red districts the voters are wanting answers. I think for the first time red state voters are starting to ask themselves are they better off going down the same road or should they take a different road.

            February 12, 2017 at 9:50 am

I hope so. I also hope that these voters wake up to the fact that they have been lied to….for decades…thus, they have consistently voted against their own best interests all these years. In other words, I hope that they are finally beginning to connect the dots.

              February 12, 2017 at 9:56 am

I just don’t like the fact that we as Democrats are asked to understand the red state voters point of view. I can’t understand someone that constantly votes against their own best interest.

              • February 12, 2017 at 10:08 am

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, lived here all my life. So I know I’m very, very naive when it comes to red state mindset and the people who love that mentality and choose to live there. But I do think something is happening here. Not sure what but there is an unsettling going on and I think it may start with people who have family that have actually benefitted from Obamacare, whether they choose to call it that or not. Maybe it saved a child’s life, maybe it eased the pain of a mom or a dad or a grandparent. Or maybe it’s the dire threat to public schools that Betsy DeVos represents. But whatever it is, it’s deeply personal. Same goes for the threat to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. If the GOP persist in that move, it will crush them.

The lies and the torment Trump and his team are perpetuating on us will have to come to a head. But for people to change their minds about who they vote for, it’s got to be deeply personal, economic and sitting on their kitchen table.

                • February 12, 2017 at 10:33 am

THIS a million times. You know the old saying NIMBY — Not in my back yard, when it does, that’s when people open their eyes. And I think you have hit it on the wall with this all important sentence.

“But for people to change their minds about who they vote for, it’s got to be deeply personal, economic and sitting on their kitchen table.”

Good morning, df. As the protests grow and grow and begin to happen everywhere he goes around the world and as he decompensates over all of it, We the People will have to see how Trump is degrading our country day in and day out.

          • February 12, 2017 at 10:29 am

            GM Meta, TODers.

Not only is he degrading the country, he is demoralizing it. I have to tell you, every time I am in a group or at an event with people, many who before now, never cared about the goings on in the country, there is this nervousness that is just suffocating. I was at a birthday dinner with some other Liberians last evening. Nearly the whole time, the discussion was about Birther, people discussing his lies, his mental state and the angst he is causing in our communities and the country. The guy who hosted the dinner has been in the county longer than any of us there. He said that in the nearly 40 years he’s been here, he’s never seen anything like this. There is lot of worries about Liberians, many who are here under Temporary Protected Services, extended each year, since GWBush due to Liberian civil war. Although Liberia is somewhat stable now, many of those people have nothing, no one to go back there to. Many of their children are American citizens. I have a brother, who is living here too, without papers. So, there is heightened angst in our own communities.

But the anxiety Birther is causing is not just in my community. I see it also in my clients, many who rely on Obamacare. The country is a mess. Every where you go, people are talking about this incompetent, mentally ill man.

And the Republican Party is in direct concert with him. Without their support, he would be gone like yesterday.

            • February 12, 2017 at 10:39 am

I agree completely. People are so freaked out, they are expressing their anxieties out in the open.

I walked into my hairdressers salon the other day and it was like a psychedelic beehive. People of all stripes were yelling and waving their arms, both clients and hairdressers. They are furious about what’s happening right before our very eyes. Anger and anxiety were pouring out into the open, all of it very, very negative toward the bully. I only hope it coalesces into something meaningful SOON.
