This boondoggle can’t be over soon enough for me. It gets worse by the hour. How the hell did they pull this off? Not a single one of these mo-rons has a clue what a ‘president’ is supposed to do! Un-fucking-believable.

Truly astounding– you’d think they’d have some notion of what they were getting into. But maybe the whole reality teevee world allowed them to imagine they really do have ideas, friends, and a mandate. Celebrity went to their heads, and they are way off balance.

Good evening TOD. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to it, the Bonus Pod by three of PBO’s speechwriters (“He has lots of edits”) here will make you smile. Their devotion to him is wonderful to hear.

I wouldn’t be surprised if those rioters were paid by Rightwingers to make liberals look bad. There were no arrests at the historically large Women’s Marches which were attended by millions nationwide. No arrests. I don’t know who these “Black Bloc” protesters who tend to riot really are beholden to. Sounds like a set up.

It’s easy to slaughter women and children and just about anyone else in that country. Endless supply of high-capacity explosives and other weapons.

GWB/Cheney only made it much worse and no matter how hard Pres Obama and NATO tried, it’s going to stay the way it is.

Will be a killing zone for decades unless the folk there decide to stop.

Wonder why Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is now speaking from the floor of the Senate, in the middle of the Dem “hold the floor” speeches? Hmmm … sounds like he might be the third Republican NO vote? Good for him, if that’s the case.

You should read his wiki bio. It explains why he’s Republican. In his senate floor speech, he talked about his public school experience as positive. He then talked about his private conversations with Betsy Devos in which she assured him she would protect public education. So here’s my two questions. If he spoke to her in private why was she so confused and incompetent in public? Also, did the Dems have an opportunity to meet with her in private. So far, none have given any indication they met with her privately.

i always say most democrats are always out there talking back strongly against the republican crazy day after day, but it’s just the owners of “the news” keep them out of the media, unless they can fit them into some false made-up talking point about dems. they’re always trying to get on the tv shows and in the articles through their press offices, but “the news” just refuses them and puts on john mccain for the 50th time each week instead.

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2017/02/06/sf-to-make-college-free-for-all-students.html?via=desktop&source=copyurl

All San Francisco students will receive free tuition at the city’s community colleges, regardless of the student’s income, the city announced Monday. The program will apply to all San Francisco residents who have lived in the city for one year and one day at the time of their enrollment. The city will fund the $5.4 million program with a new tax on sales of real estate valued at more than $5 million.

In other news…got up and called my senators regarding the DeVos vote today….VM FULL. Not acceptable.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2017/02/06/people-who-protest-almost-certainly-vote/?utm_term=.3cda49ef9365

Protests against President Trump and his executive actions have been erupting across the country. As they began, immediately after the Jan. 22 women’s marches, Trump tweeted:

    Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election! Why didn’t these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly.
    5:47 AM – 22 Jan 2017
    47,021 47,021 Retweets 217,263 217,263 likes

The tweet implied that people who protest do not vote. Research suggests that the opposite is true: People who protest are no less likely to vote than non-protesters. If anything, protesters vote at higher rates.

Have to agree with this…Democrats NEVER toot their own horns, maybe we think that others were actually paying attention to the process as it happened and that we didn’t NEED to…alas, we know that’s wrong. People don’t even fucking vote, so why would they follow a lengthy process?

    https://newrepublic.com/article/140430/never-believe-republicans-bs-ever

For four years, Republicans masked the naked political motivation for their Benghazi obsession with the blood of the dead. “Four Americans died” was a right-wing rallying cry until November 9.

A week after President Donald Trump took office, a U.S. Navy SEAL was killed in a botched raid of an Al Qaeda compound in Yemen, along with many civilians. It is perfectly reasonable to argue that Trump ought not be blamed for any particular aspect of the failure, apart from his decision to continue bad policy in Yemen. In dangerous parts of the world, people die. But by Republican standards, this should be a major, impeachment-worthy scandal. Unless there’s some arbitrary minimum number of U.S. casualties (greater than one but less than four) above which administrative heads should roll, there’s no standard by which Benghazi should have become the subject of a vast, conspiratorial inquest, but the botched raid in Yemen should not.

Rosie O’Donnell, actress and longtime nemesis of Donald Trump, just offered to join the cast of Saturday Night Live and play the role of Trump’s top advisor, Steve Bannon.

The idea of O’Donnell to play Bannon picked up steam online after it was suggested to really help dogpile onto the administration and she wasted no time jumping at the opportunity.

Now, in order to complete the job of humiliating Trump’s closest staff, O’Donnell wants to portray Bannon. A blow that would likely send Trump over the edge.

Not only because of his longtime feud and hatred for the actress, but because, according to those close to Trump, he was furious that a woman was chosen to play Spicer.

    From AltNatlParkService:

    “Important Action Item:
Today there is an expected hearing on the “Secret Science Reform Act” or H.R. 1030 which was created by Rep. Lamar Smith. This bill may appear reasonable but would prevent the EPA from using many of the best scientific studies. It would also prohibit using studies of one-time events, such as the Gulf oil spill or the effect of a partial ban of chlorpyrifos on children, which fueled the EPA’s decision to eliminate all agricultural uses of the pesticide, because these events—and thus the studies of them—can’t be repeated. Don’t let our health and environment be degraded because of one representative. Call your representative and senator at (202) 224-3121. Also, we tagged Lamar Smith feel free to post your opinion on his Facebook.”

[…..] Finally, it’s worth remembering what happened last time globalization went into reverse. After the United States passed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930, reprisals followed and global trade plunged by two-thirds. The collapse of the first wave of globalization was a major contributor to the Great Depression. And there are eerie similarities between that historical period and the present one: rising inequality, a growing power (China now, Germany then) challenging the established order, and an increase in overt expressions of racism and xenophobia, among others. […..]
