I just don’t get it. How can republicans want poison water, foul air, inert soil, sick people, thousands being killed and injured in wars, poorly educated children, millions barely making ends meet and priced out of a home and advanced schooling, domestic gun massacres, no allies, no art, no truth and no justice? They and their families live in this country too and no one is immune for long from the various ills that ravage our country. The religious right wants a theocracy, but only if it is from their sect. I just do not understand this need to control everyone and everything. What profit is there in standing on the top of a dung heap? Why are so many threatened by the thought that others want the same thing that they do? There is room enough and resources for all. What are they fighting for? What do they want? The approximately 20 additional agents will form a new task force, which the ATF referred to in internal documents as the “Chicago Crime Guns Strike Force,” in an effort to stem the city’s gun violence.
The increase, one official said, has been in the works for some time and is not in response to President Donald Trump tweeting last week that “If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible ‘carnage’ going on … I will send in the feds.”
The second official, however, could not say for sure that Trump’s comment had nothing to do with decision, considering its timing.

Overall, 44% approve of the way he’s handling the job, seven points below the previous low-point of 51%. Further, the share who disapprove “strongly” of Trump’s work as president is nearly as large as the total block who approve, 43% feel intensely negative about Trump. Partisanship is the sharpest divider in opinions on Trump (90% of Republicans approve vs. 10% of Democrats).
The poll also found that most Americans oppose the travel restrictions put in place by Trump’s executive order last week.
Fifty-five percent say they see it as an attempt to ban Muslims from entering the US. Further, 6 in 10 oppose Trump’s plan to build a wall along the border with Mexico.
Overall, 47% say they favor the executive order on travel, which prohibits entry to the US for 90 days by citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries while suspending the US refugee program for 120 days and reducing the total number of refugees the US will accept this year. A majority, 53%, say they oppose the order. Those who favor the ban say by a 2-to-1 margin that they would like to see it expanded to other countries.

Yeah I’m just about ready to vote for former President Fox 🙂 He’s been harsh and a hoot. At various points in each day I consider that being invaded by Mexico or Canada would be a good thing 😉

I am laughing thinking that instead of holding court in a box at the Super Bowl with fawning celebrities dropping by to chat and take photos, 45 will be hunkered down at Marlargo wondering how it all went so wrong so fast. He is surrounded by people he neither knows well nor likes, in a bubble that limits where he can go (if he can find some place where he will not be met by protesters) and what he can do. Nothing to do but watch cable, dictate a few tweets that most will not see because they will be caught up with the game, and have dinner with whichever kid is stuck with him for the weekend. He has no friends and obviously marriage #3 is in the crapper, and it may start to occur to him that he is a puppet. This position of “the most powerful person in the world” has more limits and much more work than he thought and little fun.
The WHCD sounds like it will be a sad and pitiful function this year, truly a Nerd Prom for the first time in years; no top galas filled with celebrities and no real interest from most of the public. The would-be emperor has no clothes and almost everyone realized it from day 1.
