This problem with the Dem senate complicity in legitimizing Trump points out the essential need of voice, a leader, or small group of leaders who speak for the #Resistance and can hold the Dem politicians accountable. The woman’s March is just the beginning of America’s organized refusal to accept Trump as an American president. I’m hoping an articulate leadership can emerge that has name recognition and the skills to organize, the charisma to speak and move people. These senators don’t know how to do this, and they are focused on the legislative process, not on leading a movement. Bernie is too divisive and self serving. I will say it again, our organizer in chief, President Obama could anoint such a person or persons. It’s possible Tom Perez could be that person. I’m thinking someone from the arts or entertainment business like George Clooney could be that person. But we need it, NOW.

We haven’t had much discussion here about the DNC chair position, and i would be interested in your thoughts. I know Keith Ellison has strong support, but I’m with Tom Perez for two main reasons:
1. He has experience running a large national organization the DOL and we desperately need someone who knows how to do this. DWS had no idea, and frankly I don’t see Keith doing much better. It takes knowledge and experience.
2. Before DOL, he was with the civil rights division at DOJ, and therefore is very focused on voting rights. I think this is going to be the major issue under this administration. DT and the GOP will everything in their power to deprive people of the right to vote. It is the only way they win elections in the next four years.
But those are my reasons, based on what I’ve heard. Would love to hear some other opinions.
I’m with Tom Perez. For all the reasons you stated plus he has the behind-the-scenes backing of PBO and his inner circle.
I don’t believe Ellison has what it takes to really get our party back on track. He’s in Bernie’s pocket and I’m not impressed with all talk and no action. Tom Perez is an attorney, he’s dealt with civil rights and police issues at DOJ very, very effectively and I believe we need someone right now who knows the LAW, inside out. He’s a PROVEN achiever. I love the ideas he’s presented so far. He knows that the fight starts now in every state and it has to be unrelenting. Ellison can keep his seat in the House.
I’m with Tom Perez because Ellison’s backers are SUSPECT.
Plus, Tom Perez sounds the way that I feel right now.
With Voter Suppression being a battle that we will have to fight NOW and well into the future, I feel better having the former head of the Civil Rights Division as DNC Chair.

We haven’t had much discussion here about the DNC chair position, and i would be interested in your thoughts. I know Keith Ellison has strong support, but I’m with Tom Perez for two main reasons:
1. He has experience running a large national organization the DOL and we desperately need someone who knows how to do this. DWS had no idea, and frankly I don’t see Keith doing much better. It takes knowledge and experience.
2. Before DOL, he was with the civil rights division at DOJ, and therefore is very focused on voting rights. I think this is going to be the major issue under this administration. DT and the GOP will everything in their power to deprive people of the right to vote. It is the only way they win elections in the next four years.
But those are my reasons, based on what I’ve heard. Would love to hear some other opinions.
I’m with Tom Perez. For all the reasons you stated plus he has the behind-the-scenes backing of PBO and his inner circle.
I don’t believe Ellison has what it takes to really get our party back on track. He’s in Bernie’s pocket and I’m not impressed with all talk and no action. Tom Perez is an attorney, he’s dealt with civil rights and police issues at DOJ very, very effectively and I believe we need someone right now who knows the LAW, inside out. He’s a PROVEN achiever. I love the ideas he’s presented so far. He knows that the fight starts now in every state and it has to be unrelenting. Ellison can keep his seat in the House.
Tom Perez is also unafraid to speak out and that’s what the DNC needs right now, a fearless leader!
I agree with all the stated reasons, but my main one is his full support of PBO. I am tired of the Dems being so lacking of full support
I’m with Tom Perez because Ellison’s backers are SUSPECT.
Plus, Tom Perez sounds the way that I feel right now.
With Voter Suppression being a battle that we will have to fight NOW and well into the future, I feel better having the former head of the Civil Rights Division as DNC Chair.
If you are on twitter, everyday, every time, whenever you tweet even if its not related to politics use the hashtag #bringbackobama. Maybe it will catch on and we can get it trending. I know its something that will upset twitterfingers.
I don’t think so. President Obama did enough. It’s time we cleaned up our own mess.

Sorry, but I don’t buy it. Nothing about his mental state was unknown before the election. And the rethug ‘leaders’ have colluded with him in his irresponsible appointments and policy measures. Their ‘private questioning’ doesn’t get them off the hook. If they swiftly and cleanly get him out of office, I will reconsider my assessment (and you know, they just live or die for my assessment 🙂 ).
All Williams Australian Open Final!!!!! Also I miss the pool reports. OMG, I miss my POTUS and FLOTUS. I know that they are having a peaceful uninterrupted vacation without someone looking over them, photographing them, or reporting on them. I wish them the best. But this is going to be a long two weeks without them.
