There has never been ~will never be ~ a more beautiful First Couple. It's not just their physical beauty~ It's the light inside of them~ pic.twitter.com/Z12JnEK2zx
We have been so blessed for the 8-years President Obama has served this country. I am grateful for the OBD and everyone who made this site operate for 8 years. This site has been the first place I check in each day. Thank you.
This night is so hard for me. So happy to share it with our TOD family. What a great man he is. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years. If I didn’t work tomorrow I’d be drinking the wine I have in my fridge.
Thank you NW for your great service to all of us here at TOD. Echoes tonight of MLK I love and admire this President to the moon and back.. JOB you have captured and given voice to my feelings so many times at critical junctures but never more than tonight. Thank you everyone here for enriching my life.
Mine flowed when the camera turned on Malia and she was crying…openly sobbing when he praised Michelle, Joe, and then his staff and then all of you volunteers!!!!
If I didn’t have to attend an important meeting tomorrow, I think I’d drink all the alcohol in my house tonight. 😦 Maybe I’ll make up for it tomorrow night. And now, whenever I hear that song from Springsteen (whom I adore) it’s going to make me cry again.
Malia looked so confident and comfortable up there with her parents. Such maturity and poise!
When shall we see his like again? These eight Obama years have been so wonderful. Tears flowed, just kept saying “Don’t leave us, don’t leave us.” Thank you President Obama for these precious eight years.
Honestly, my heart goes out to Malia, especially. She stood tall every day under the white hot light of MSM. She is beautiful and graceful and clearly loves her parents very much.
I was okay until he and Malia started crying. Folks, we have our marching orders from our forever president.
I love that C-span is still showing them greeting the crowd.
And there we have it. Definitely not going to hear what any of the pundits will say this farewell address meant.
We know what he meant. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for – he’s been waiting for – and he’s brought us to this point, and we get to march hand-in-hand with him, into the future, whatever it holds.
Very cathartic for me. Crying through most of the speech. At the same time I was filled with such gratitude that this wonderful man, Barack Obama (whose very name means blessing), who is such a light-filled being, has consented to bear, together with our First Lady Michelle, the burden of leadership for our country and to a large extent to the world. And together they have brought such light and healing to all of us. That will not be lost. That will ripple through the lives of everyone, and will bear much fruit. A whole younger generation has come of age in the Obama era and been formed in his generous illumined spirit. From them will come new leaders and new vision and energy.
Bill, I so agree, tonight is for tears, thankfulness for being a close up witness to it. Now tomorrow we all must fight for our future. And know that he is there beside us.
Demonstrator holding a "Pardon us all now" banner tried to cause a disturbance during Obama's farewell speech. Chicago police removed her. pic.twitter.com/H2mSeZdd7B
He said every single thing we need to hear. Everything we need to know to keep our democracy. Everything it takes to be a better America. He has laid this path for us, with us for 8 years and what he did tonight… again… was remind us how powerful we are. It is hard being a citizen. It is tiring. But it really is a must… if we really want to be a better people.
I love him and I hate hate hate letting him go. But I am also still really looking forward to Citizen Obama.. and also in trying to be as good a citizen as I can. Really, YesWeCan. Thank you Mr. President.
Did I forget to thank our BT Chips? I did. Please forgive me. So indebted to you for creating this place; this village. Hope that you are healing and well. We do miss you.
I am so excited and so sad to hear the President’s farewell address.
Thank you, NW!
Thanks NW for the link! I’m ready 🙂
How utterly bittersweet is this moment.
Ready as I’ll ever be. Got the box of Kleenex…a drink and I’m here with all of you.
Just opened a bottle of red and grabbed the box of kleenex.
I’m here to, and the plan is to listen intently (with my eyes glued to our guy) so I don’t miss any nuances. 🙂
Can’t believe this day has come……..
I wonder where Sasha is tonight?
She’s a junior with final exams to take.
Stevie Wonder music as we wait.
MP/WPW here with y’all!
{{{{{ TOD }}}}} Will watch on wh.gov, computer all ready. ❤🌹🙏🏻🌹❤👊🏼
I am drinking the blackberry pear hard cider I bought to celebrate the election night results that I could not touch that night.
Sasha?
Probably had a test at school
GE TODville.
National Anthem now.
I’m ready with my glass of Moscato and my tissues.
I’ll match that! ❤
Here watching with my TOD family. Wouldn’t be anywhere else. Thank you Nerdy for providing this place for us to be together.
Thank you, Nerdy, for the “watch party.” You are loved.
here…no where else i rather be
Although I am alone here I am not alone with all of you out there too.
well sh*t the music has me already tearing.
Chicago loves him!
Oh My
Thank you, Mr President.
You are one of a kind. You always will be.
yes he will be……
they yell 4 more years
“My fellow Americans … ”
and he means it! We have been together in this.
Such a great man. Thank you President Obama, you will always be MY president.
My President!!
Who is the asshole who is shouting??!!
What was all that shouting while he was speaking?
“Four more years!”
“No, I can’t do that.”
The chant was started to drown out a disturbance; sure that will be part of the lead in all the stories…
Bad sound. Echo!
We LOVE HIM!!!
I am hearing an echo on 2 different stations.
I am, as well. Very distracting.
I am already crying
Love him. Love them. Love all of TOD.
They should not interrupt him
Lots of people crying along with me.
i hope they fix it. I love how he makes it about us!
Trump was not “freely elected”, sorry, dearest President, I have to disagree with you.
We have been so blessed for the 8-years President Obama has served this country. I am grateful for the OBD and everyone who made this site operate for 8 years. This site has been the first place I check in each day. Thank you.
I agree but he won’t fight it in public. He will do it thru laws not thru speeches.
Can you imagine those dissenters waiting in the minus 14 F temps to get the ticket to cause a ruckus there?
Those people are not for a democracy. Try this at a Trump speech and see what happens.
This night is so hard for me. So happy to share it with our TOD family. What a great man he is. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years. If I didn’t work tomorrow I’d be drinking the wine I have in my fridge.
I’m drinking wine for you. This is so and so inspiring. Tears.
So happy to share this night with my TOD family. It is so bitter sweet. He deserves a rest but sure don’t want to see him go.
Because they are nobodies !!
I think he is trying to fire us up to keep working at making things better.
I’m here, but watching on C-SPAN. I can’t believe this moment is here either.
Those Brown Kids are going to be the majority
I think they fixed the echo.
Thank you NW for your great service to all of us here at TOD. Echoes tonight of MLK I love and admire this President to the moon and back.. JOB you have captured and given voice to my feelings so many times at critical junctures but never more than tonight. Thank you everyone here for enriching my life.
Unity and acceptance
PBO is so intelligent and finds the right words to say
He looks a little more rested than I’ve seen him lately. He’s beautiful.
It’s good to be home (especially since he’s been confined in the DC swamp for so long). 🙂
Selective sorting of the facts
i love how he is talking so softly…how he talking in measured tones
Greatness with grace.
I am here with my glass of red. HZ
Yes, we see you, feisty HZ! *clink
Try talking to someone in real life instead of just arguing on the Internet.
talk to them in real life!!
Thank you, FLOTUS.
HI amk for Obama, glad to see you here tonight. Have missed you. How is the family unit? Are you doing OK?
Hi Amk, it’s so good to see you here again on this night. Back where you belong.
So great to “see” you amk. Wasn’t that a speech for the ages?
Thank you, Joe.
Boy the tears are flowing now.
Tears flowing. Oh I love this great man so. HZ
Thank you Mr President, we did it with you!
OMG I love this man!
Tears, tears, tears.
i love how he shows his humanity!!
weeping….i love this President
When he wiped his tear mine really started to flow.
Mine flowed when the camera turned on Malia and she was crying…openly sobbing when he praised Michelle, Joe, and then his staff and then all of you volunteers!!!!
Sheila, he is so precious.
What is our country going to be without this wonderful, thoughtful and compassionate man?
I’m so glad the white house feed stayed on till they walked out of sight.
Siiigh!
Thank you President and Mrs. Obama…Vice-president and Mrs. Biden…
Tears are flowing.
I’m just a blubbering mess. Just a damn mess.
DF you are not alone.
It was that ugly crying
Me too 😦
If I didn’t have to attend an important meeting tomorrow, I think I’d drink all the alcohol in my house tonight. 😦 Maybe I’ll make up for it tomorrow night. And now, whenever I hear that song from Springsteen (whom I adore) it’s going to make me cry again.
Malia looked so confident and comfortable up there with her parents. Such maturity and poise!
Basket case, here.
End of an era. Will never see another statesman like this.
Good to see you here, amk, our dear O’brother.
Agree 100000%%%
I agree.
I’m just crying for all this moment is about. Unbelievable day.
Hugs to you, my dear O’sister. Thank God for wine and Obama.
WORD.
So glad you are here in TODville, Booms. It means a lot to all of us.
You all mean more to me than you can know, sugar.
When shall we see his like again? These eight Obama years have been so wonderful. Tears flowed, just kept saying “Don’t leave us, don’t leave us.” Thank you President Obama for these precious eight years.
Yes, carolyn, and the beauty of it is: Barack H. Obama, J.D., Citizen is not leaving us!!!! Hugs to you!

I was okay until he and Malia started crying. Folks, we have our marching orders from our forever president.
I love that C-span is still showing them greeting the crowd.
He has to be the most patriotic American EVER!

What a man. What a mighty fine man.
He needs no interpretation. His words and his meaning are as clear as a bell. Those who have was, let them hear.
Oh my goodness…tears…what more can I add that already hasn’t been said…This President…OUR FOREVER PRESIDENT…YES WE CAN. 🙂 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing this. I feel the same way.

This is the beauty of this time in our history. Nobody can change it.
And thank you, chips.
Time for you get out of your lurker status?
Wouldn’t that be wonderful. ❤
I would love to see her right about now. Hugs to all.
Echoing my thanks to Chipsticks as well as the hope that she will pay a visit to the village.
Did I forget to thank our BT Chips? I did. Please forgive me. So indebted to you for creating this place; this village. Hope that you are healing and well. We do miss you.
YES WE CAN and YES WE DID!
