A Lie is a statement that one knows to be false & that is made with the intention to deceive & a person who tells a lie is a liar…Not Rocket Science…

“Moral intent”? It’s called lying. Plan and simple. How do you tell our children that we “need to be objective”…its lying. Call it what it is!
Remember when telling the TRUTH was something all Americans believed in. In was part of our collective character. George Washington “I cannot tell a lie”, story we heard over and over. Remember Honest Abe? Now we are afraid to call out pathological liars.
The darkness gets darker, and the slime we call president – elect grows. When will journalists start shinning light back into the darkness.

Journos could make things a lot easier on themselves if they began from the premise that the pathological liar is lying….and prove him to be telling the truth.

      GA DF.

Article is from a couple of weeks ago, and may have been posted here at that time, but it’s obvious to anyone who hears/observes DJT’s behavior that he is seriously unqualified (from a mental health perspective) to be President of the United States. (No medical knowledge, but infuriating that MSM treat his insanity as, oh, OK, totally normal, totally OK for an unhinged tweeter with no self-control and pathological drive to lash out at the most petty personal slight to have the nuclear codes.)

Recent example (only 6 1/2 hours between DJT’s own statements [not from his office or from his aides])…

Thanks. I’m no Dr. but it sure is hard to excuse away the spot on examples of DJT’s state….scary and I suspect if I were an ex KGB agent, I would be salivating at the prospects of knowing how precisely to pull his strings.

      GA AT2.

More details on the First Family’s visit to a place that will no doubt launch #CitizenBarack’s engagement with young Asian/Australian/Pacific Island leaders.

Since this is a “public pool” report, I hope quoting this email in its entirety is OK:
“POTUS started the bright New Year’s morning with a visit to the campus of the University of Hawaii.

The motorcade departed the Obamas’ vacation home at 10 am and traversed the island through the lush forest and ravines of Pali Highway.

According to the White House, the president, his daughters, Sasha and Malia, and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng are visiting the East-West Center at the university. The president will meet with the incoming East-West Center President, Dr. Richard R. Vuylsteke.
Pool is holding on campus in the van.”

    BRAVA Jennifer!!

“Or you could focus on the political instead of the personal. If the weight-loss industry and the fitness industry and even, it seems, the president-elect would rather have you counting calories instead of all the frightening ways the world has changed since November, if they want you spending your money on commercial diet plans instead of giving it to Planned Parenthood, then you can recommit to self-acceptance, and on doing work that will ultimately matter more than the shape of your body.

Personally, I’m planning on taking the money that previous Januarys might have gone to Weight Watchers or the diet book of the moment, and using it instead on bus tickets from Philadelphia to Washington for the women’s march on Jan. 21.

My workout that day will be marching on the mall with my mother and her partner, surrounded by women from all over the country, united in our opposition to a president who routinely engages in the kind of toxic machismo that would get any of my daughter’s third-grade classmates put in the timeout chair.

I will take up space in a world that tells women they shouldn’t and be loud in a world that tells us to be quiet and compliant. I will work toward better days for myself, for my peers and for my daughters. May their Januarys be about self-acceptance, not self-improvement; may their leaders appreciate women for their talents, not their appearance. May they always understand that, of all the things in the world to change and to fix, the least important will always be their looks.”

      Short pool report. 😦

“The motorcade left the university at 11 am and headed through Honolulu to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The press van peeled off at the bottom of a hill as POTUS and his family climbed the hill in the direction of the cemetery where his grandfather, Stanley Dunham, is buried. It was a short visit and at 11:30 am we are back on the road to parts unannounced.”

Of the many things that I admire about the Obamas, one of the major ones is that they did not give their haters the pleasure of a reaction to the bile that was spewed at them. They did not give them their tears, fears, disappointment, anger or hate. Those who lied and mistreated them through their hateful words never got what they thirsted for, but instead were soundly defeated because they were ignored. PBO and MO lived their lives out loud, worked for the people and causes that mattered, loved, laughed, raised great kids and enjoyed their friends. They sang and danced, and played with children; they went where they wanted to go and did what they wanted to do, all while being unapologetically Black. They could and would not be brought down and this is why the haters rage. As the old folks say “they did not say a mumbling word” in response to all that was hurled at them. They lived the life of going high when others go low and their legacy will live on untarnished. Outside of my mother’s example, I have learned more about how to live as a Christian from these two than any other person in my life. They have kept the faith and may God continue to bless, protect, and keep them.

A Happy, Healthy new year to our Nerdy, Ms Chips, and all the dear people on TOD. Hard to accept that our beautiful Age of Obama is coming to an end; the intelligence, grace and compassion soon to be replaced by the misogyny, bigotry and ignorance of a narcissistic, bloated orange man-child. I weep for America. Love to all of you! I hope that TOD will continue, as it a place of strength and solace for us all! ❤❤❤

I watched Meet the Patels on PBS’ Independent Lens.

It was about an Indian- American, first generation born here, and his dating travails. Had dated a White girl for 2 years, never told his parents about her. Broke up with her. His parents wanted him to marry and Indian girl, so they went about it…in India, and in America.

    Ads in Indian newspapers.
    Resumes of candidates
    Marital convention
    The Indian Wedding Season Circuit

    It was quite interesting.

Really, how did ‘working class’ come to mean ‘white people with crappy jobs’? It’s just more of the subtle semantics of racism– because when you say ‘working class’ everyone hears ‘white working class’. Which is a way of saying ‘white people who don’t want to be lumped in with brown and black people who do the same jobs, have the same income, and need the same supports from government. The DT years will be full of this kind of semantic bullshit, and we need to call it out, every time.

I am also so very proud of the Obama presidency, and all who worked within it and around it to support the president’s vision. To all of you who ‘worked your asses off for 8 years’– thank you for your devoted service to this nation. Many within the government gave beyond their job description to ‘make this country better’, and vast numbers of scattered citizens worked in their free time for the same goal. We can all be proud of each other and of ourselves, and especially of Barack Obama for what has been accomplished.

Interesting that “Obamacare” enrollments are at an all time high. As one tweet said days ago, when Barack was elected scared folks bought guns; the Deplorable One is elected and scared people run to get healthcare; what irony.

I think DJT has lost his marbles for good, and will be an uncontrollable lunatic later this month — I am still in disbelief that this mentally-challenged plutocrat will become president.

Instead of trying to comprehend intel briefings, and to try and make sense of the world, DJT will be flipping between cable news and this on his Twitter feed:

My friend sent me the full text of this letter in an e-mail, but found the link (don’t normally visit dKos but she found it there) so I could just share one paragraph from it … sorry if this is a duplicate of someone else’s earlier “sharing.” I’d heard of this, but hadn’t read it until this evening. Ugh.

In a public letter, Mormon Tabernacle Choir singer resigns rather than sing for Trump inauguration

“History is repeating itself; the same tactics are being used by Hitler (identify a problem, finding a scapegoat target to blame, and stirring up people with a combination of fanaticism, false promises, and fear, and gathering the funding). I plead with everyone to go back and read the books we all know on these topics and review the films produced to help us learn from these gargantuan crimes so that we will not allow them to be repeated. Evil people prosper when good people stand by and do nothing … ”

Not a big fan of Schumer’s, but it looks like he will be doing the right thing.

This article also appears on Windows10 newsfeed, so here’s a link to the same article, but bypassing WaPo’s paywall limitation:

Here’s a list of cabinet nominations that Dems will oppose:

      one concern:

if you have a plan to hinder or stop unacceptable nominations and policies, why in the world would you publicize it?
      — wouldn’t that publicity reduce the element of surprise?

      — wouldn’t that publicity also provide a record that your competition, with the help of the ever-eager media, would then use to campaign against you? remember how most of us are still able to quote what turtle said about obstructing PBO?

Happy New Year again. It’s the second day of the year; we are all blessed to be around. That being said, I see that Propane Jane was on fire at the tail of last night’s post with a proper diagnostic of the Jackass-elect, soon to be Jackass-inaugurated. It’s a pure shame to all Americans to have this sociopath anywhere in WA, DC let alone in the WH. The man needs to be in an asylum.
