    GA TODville.

Not sure when PBO will deliver remarks, NerdyW’s “early bird” post says his remarks are scheduled for 5:05pm EST (2:05pm PST), and whitehouse.gov/live says it’s scheduled for 3:05pm EST (which was 15 minutes ago)… but whitehouse.gov/live livestream appears to be counting down to the originally scheduled 5:05pm EST.

The traveling WHPC aren’t the best photographers, most of the pics in my Twitter feed are pretty blurry, but here’s a few non-blurry ones:

Chris Christie Doesn’t Understand His Fate
    by Martin Longman
    December 27, 2016 1:55 PM

Chris Christie is back in New Jersey and badly wounded. He just failed to convince the legislature to relax ethics laws to allow him to profit from writing a book. Gonorrhea and chlamydia are more popular than he is in the Garden State, and the series of public humiliations he’s endured from the Trump camp since the election have been enough to make the Cleveland Browns blush.

At one time, he was in charge of the Trump transition team, but that plum position was yanked and his loyalists were largely purged from the lists. It was a predictable end if you knew that Christie had gone out of his way to humiliate the father of Trump’s son-in-law when he prosecuted him in 2005. The experience was traumatic enough for Jared Kushner, who was then working in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, that he gave up his aspirations to become a prosecutor himself.

    ………………………….

Yet, Christie is still in deep denial about what has happened to him, and why.

Mr. Christie still believes he has a political future nationally. He wants to write a book and his friends have been telling people in New Jersey that the governor expects Mr. Trump to eventually come around to him. According to their scenario, the White House management team of Jared Kushner, Stephen K. Bannon and Reince Priebus will be a disaster and Mr. Christie will be tapped as the skilled manager, like David Gergen, the former aide to Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan who swooped in to steady Bill Clinton’s administration after a raucous first year.

It could very well be that Trump’s first team is a disaster and that he’ll be looking to bring in some savior to rescue his presidency, but his son-in-law is not going to get dumped for the guy who put his father in prison and held a press conference to make it as brutal as he could make it.

Good morning TOD. Another beautiful day that we get to watch our great President. I don’t think we’ll be seeing events like this again.

The best gift I got this year was a new laptop. Last Friday my old desktop died. I said we’ll worry about it after Christmas. My son must have had an idea it was time because they bought this after a Thanksgiving sale. Now it is fun trying to set up a new computer. It’s frustrating because I have so many accounts that were on my desktop. My problem is I wasn’t so good at making sure everything went to the cloud. We’ll see how well I did.

Now to listen to the President.

Some good news and human kindness! Secret Santa Donates 3,500 Pounds of Steak For Homeless Christmas Dinners.

Thanks to an anonymous Secret Santa, hundreds of homeless men, women, and children were able to eat a hardy meal for the holidays. A mystery donor gave 3,500 pounds of rib-eye steak to Union Gospel Mission shelter in Seattle, Washington.

“Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to serve 1,350 children and adults a Christmas feast that included steak, shrimp, a loaded baked potato and some herb roasted carrots!” wrote the organization. “It was quite the merry night at all of our shelters!” Union Gospel Mission has been providing emergency care and services to the homeless community since 1932. Though they reportedly serve about 1,000 meals a week to people living in property, the steak was a rare treat. “This meal means a lot – it’s the first Christmas I’m sitting down having a sober meal with my kids and new sisters and making new memories,” said one of the guests.

If Trump is so sure he could have beaten President Obama , why didn’t Trump run in 2012?

    • 26 criquet
      December 27, 2016 at 8:10 pm

Considering that he thanked ” the African Americans” for not voting and giving him “the win” by his own logic this would have precluded him from beating PBO if PBO could have run for a 3rd term. What a moron Trump is.

yes i was just about to post this…. i am all in….here is more from the post….

I think that by now we all realize how true this statement is. Donald Trump is about to capture the highest office in the land, and none of us can afford inaction – let alone silence – in the face of this great evil.

What shape does our actions against Trump’s rule take? I know that each of us has to decide for ourselves our individual best course of action, but I want to lay out my vision for TPV as a community and as a platform on our role in The Resistance. We want to expand beyond the role of explaining policy and counterpunching against an inept, corrupt media. I want us to give our community – and the entire popular galvanization against Donald Trump – a channel to act.

(Just kidding) (there is WAY too much going on for my nervous system, we may be seeing my brother head off into the Light any day now, he just never did make it back to even nearly functional). • December 28, 2016 at 9:54 am

Trump has a problem up stairs. Trump could have proven that he could have beaten President Obama by running in 2012, instead the great orange man decides to run in 2016 when he knew President Obama could not run again. And then for him to win, it took Voter Suppression, Russia, and James Comey. Common sense would tell him he has no need to brag, his voters wanted to make America white again, including the folks in the White House. But common sense and Trump doesn’t go together. I read something on facebook were this preacher Paula White said something about Trump being a christian. He sure don’t act like it, maybe he should be reading the Bible instead of tweeting.

Good morning GG and all of TODville.

I so enjoyed the KC Honors last night. It was more meaningful to me because I have actually been there. I could say that was the area where we sat. I loved all of the Honorees but for me Martha Argerich was so special. I have all of her cds. I have always been partial to pianists and she was so special.

It is going to be hard watching all these special without the Obama’s. Won’t be the same.

Good Morning TOD Family and SoCal family. I fully enjoyed the KCH’s last night too. My only disappointment was Elle King singing Marva Maples Respect Yourself I could hardly hear her. I wish it were someone like Mary J Blige or Jennifer Hudson to put some soul in it. Other than that all the entertainers were great. Always great to see PBO & FLOTUS. PBO seemed alittle sad last night. Probably realizing his last KCH performance in person or thinking about the other people he wished he could honor.

Agree. 1000%. There is something very wrong with him. He wasn’t elected, he was placed in his spot by a foreign govt. This was by design. That said, no one should excuse the sorry excuses for humans that voted for him and put the entire world in peril.

There it is! The DNC only shows up for money. No one that I know has any idea what they do or who they are. The organization exists for itself. Barack ignored them and he won twice; then they came begging for him to raise money that was not spent effectively. I hope that there will be someone elected/appointed who has an understanding of the electorate and how to effectively engage it throughout the years and to give people reasons other than tradition (which is not important to younger people) to vote democratic. No matter who is the next head, I hope that the first thing that they do is to all year talk about the things democrats have done that have had direct impact on the quality of everyday life. It is especially insulting how the Democratic party has long taken the loyalty of A-A’s for granted while ignoring our issues.
