Reposting from the last thread because I my timing always is perfect:-)

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and/or blessings for any holiday you celebrate. I am grateful for this community, and hope we can continue to lift each other up.

Regardless of your religion, this rendition of Hallelujah by a 10 year old Irish girl with autism will lift your heart. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. May you all have a beautiful, fun, joyous Day.

So thankful for our wonderful first family. Just watched “Barry” on Netflix. I recommend it. Will need to watch it several more times.

A very Merry Christmas to you, too mtmarilyn! And thank you for the recommendation– I was leery of this film, because of the title. Sadly, the nation’s asshats have used his childhood nickname to deride and belittle him– not that they actually could affect his quality in any way. I look forward to seeing the movie now! Aloha oe, Mele Kalikimaka!

I agree. Someone else recommended it to me. I was cooking and cleaning while watching so wasn’t able to concentrate on it. Found it to be very thoughtful so I need to watch it again when I’m not distracted.

We are having a beautiful white Christmas.

I’ve heard about this for weeks. Callers to progressive radio shows, the hosts of those shows, etc. Most say it ‘could’ be done, but very unlikely it will, in large part to what this article refers to–PO wanting to do the right thing and not upset the apple cart. I think we all agree that if the situation were reversed, the R’s would not blink an eye and would do it. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

My husband and grandson are hiking today in the Smokies. Daughter, granddaughter and I are going to Gatlinburg (the aquarium). Then, late afternoon we will meet them in Pigeon Forge. I want to go, but dread seeing the damage and destruction from the fires. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Hope everyone has a good day. (((((CHIPS and Danny))))) NW, thank you!

NEW YORK โ€“- Carmelo Anthony helped deliver a Christmas Day miracle, and it had nothing to do with the New York Knicks playing the Boston Celtics.

The All-Star Knicks forward — with help from his Carmelo Anthony Foundation, the Garden of Dreams Foundation and Kia โ€“- gave a new car to Jarell Lara and his family hours before the Knicks’ 119-114 loss to the Celtics on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

As Anthony gave the stunned family the keys to their new car, Anne Lara, Jarell’s mother, couldn’t contain her emotions and began crying, her knees buckling as Anthony hugged the entire family and wished them a Merry Christmas.

    Not just empty words.

President Barack Obama on Sunday called it the โ€œprivilege of my lifeโ€ to serve as commander in chief while visiting U.S. service members in Hawaii. โ€œAlthough this will be my last time addressing you as president, I want you to know that as a citizen, my gratitude will remain, and our commitment to standing by you every step of the way, that won’t stop,โ€ he said while visiting the Marine Corps Base on Christmas Day. He said heโ€™d phoned service members stationed overseas the day before to express gratitude for their service.

Good West Coast morning NW & TOD family. I just received this email…

    Gail —

Before this year ends, I want to thank you again for your support of our campaign. While we didn’t achieve the outcome we sought, I’m proud of the vision and values we fought for and the nearly 66 million people who voted for them.

I believe it is our responsibility to keep doing our part to build a better, stronger, and fairer future for our country and the world.

The holidays are a time to be thankful for our blessings. So let us rejoice in this season and look forward with renewed hope and determination.

I wish you and your family health, happiness, and continued strength for the New Year and the work ahead.

I look forward to staying in touch in 2017. Onward!

With deep appreciation and warm wishes, I am,

Good evening, TODville! Oh, my friend and I just had a marvelous phone conversation about what the President is “up to,” relating to some of his comments in interviews recently that seem just a tiny bit out of the norm … when I can put it into words, I’ll share, but the concept is that he is PLAYING Trump big time, has been for months, has a fully developed plan, hasn’t an ounce of out-of-character self-aggrandizement going on, etc.

I suggested to my friend that only a possible handful of people might be in on it (so far, we’ve come up with the President, the First Lady, Axelrod, Holder, and possibly Hillary).

Bottom line: I love our President! #RestoreHope

โค Let's just say sometimes my friend and I perfectly complement each other, in our thinking. I'm the type that sees the pretty flower growing, loves the colors, the softness, the aroma, I'll love it until I die, and I'll write a little poem about it. She sees what's happening under the ground, how sturdy it is growing, how much water it'll need, what are the pitfalls to its overall health, asks herself if it will grow on Mars, and makes a plan for how long she'll have to study that.

Ha! Our phone chats are sometimes 3 hours long, and you can see why! (I learn so much from ALL my close friends!)

And sooner or later, she'll say something like, "I'm going to write down my other thoughts about what's on Obama's mind on this – that I'm not mentioning – and file the paper away in an envelope, and we'll check it six weeks from now to see if it comes true." And we do, and it does. Well, not always, but close.

Off to call her back and get some potential numbers to play the lottery! #SmartAss #HerNotYouDF
