Back in 2008, this little lady, originally from Kentucky, and her husband worked their bones for PBO campaign. She took away one message. She said he wanted folks to go back to their communities and make a difference. She and another Republican friend came up with the idea to harvest unwanted fruits and donate to the needy. I met her shortly that December at a Winn Dixie in Pensacola, after just being laid off from my job. I still had friends at the newspaper, and so I asked if I could send in a short brief on our project. Guy said yes. Within an hour, it was posted online. And in short order, we started getting calls.

Eight years later, we have picked and donated thousands of pounds of fruit, I made life long friends in my friend, Anna and her husband Bill, and the many volunteers that come to work with us each winter.

I just wanted to share this little bit of what we do that was inspired by President Barack Obama.

My guess is that PBO is still in the information gathering stage. I read somewhere that there are tons of classified info on this particular topic, and we’ve only heard of the little bits that have gotten leaked (probably intentionally by PBO himself).

Agree and I’m confident he will not leave Office without comprehensively addressing what more and more appears to qualify as an act of war against America – only one other group has ever gotten this close to destroying our Democracy and our Bill of Rights – Jeff Davis and his rebel buddies, 1861-1865.

I agree with you Hopefruit! Both the President and the First Lady campaigned passionately on behalf of Hillary Clinton. The President repeatedly implored voters to focus because “Democracy itself was on the ballot.” Yet thousands of petulant, “holier than thou, purity progressives” chose to vote for Jill Stein, Gary Johnson or just stayed home. Even with the Russian intervention, Clinton would still have won the electoral votes if it weren’t for the petulant “holier than thou, purity progressives” who chose to abandon the Democratic nominee because she was not Bernie Sanders. I am sick and tired of people who are trying to put the burden of this miserable election on President Obama. By the way, I don’t remember any one putting pressure on Bill Clinton to intervene in the 2000 election, which was clearly stolen by Jen Bush, Katherine Harris, and ultimately the 5 right wing Justices on the Supreme Court.

As far as I am concerned, it’s really up to us citizens to be out there resisting Trump by pointing that he lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by more than 2.8 million votes. Consequently, Trump has no mandate from the majority of Americans! And if there is concrete proof that Trump’s electoral win was clearly a result of Russian intervention, then it’s up to the electors and the Congress to make sure that Trump will not be the next President. Any one with a rudimentary understanding of our Constitution should know that an outgoing President has absolutely no Constitutional authority to overturn the results of the presidential election, regardless of how flawed it may be.

Thank you so much for you passionate and heroic fight against this horrendous injustice of ending up with a so called president-elect who lost the popular vote to his main opponent by more than 2.8 million votes! Hillary Clinton’s 2,843,362 popular vote margin of victory over Donald Trump is greater than all the total votes, for all the candidates, cast in these 6 red states that gave Trump 21 electoral votes: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wyoming. The total votes cast in these states, for ALLl the candidates was 2,811,099, which adds up to 32,263 less votes than Clinton’s popular vote margin over Donald Trump.

    Reposting here

The Republican National Committee is overseeing an expansive whip operation designed to lock down Donald Trump’s Electoral College majority and ensure that the 306 Republican electors cast their votes for the president-elect.

Two RNC sources familiar with the effort said the committee — with the assistance of state Republican parties and the Trump campaign — have been in touch with most of the GOP electors multiple times, and has concluded that only one is a risk to cast a vote against Trump on Dec. 19, when the Electoral College meets.

The RNC’s elector head count, the sources emphasized, is standard practice in presidential election years. But this year it also serves as an early-warning system for potentially wayward GOP electors amid an intense push by Democratic electors to convince 37 of their Republican counterparts to jump ship. The Democrats are hoping that dozens of GOP electors — many of whom were picked at local conventions and party meetings dominated by Trump’s opponents — are already primed to resist Trump.

“The state Republican parties in the states that went for Trump are heavily invested in this process,” said one of the RNC sources. “It’s a matter of personal pride for a state party chairman and a state party to ensure that all the electors that their people elected vote, and vote in the manner in which they’re supposed to.”

He’s a liar, a crook, a criminal tax evader…a hate monger and, if he planned this, a person that committed treason. Fuck no they shouldn’t vote for him! This is a threat to the EC members. Tell him to rot in hell!

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I heard that ten ECs asked for the briefing on Russian involvement in our election by the CIA. It included that nine were Democrats and one was a not voting for Trump GOP elector (the one considering Kasich). He also said it would need all Hillary supporters plus three dozen Trump electors showing it highly unlikely anything would change.

Thanks to the media and conservative political bloggers, the Russian hack of the DCCC affected the outcome of key Congressional races, too, according to a new report by the New York Times.

But there was never anything quite like the 2016 election campaign, when a handful of Democratic House candidates became targets of a Russian influence operation that made thousands of pages of documents stolen by hackers from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington available to Florida reporters and bloggers.

“It was like I was standing out there naked,” said Annette Taddeo, a Democrat who lost her primary race after secret campaign documents were made public. “I just can’t describe it any other way. Our entire internal strategy plan was made public, and suddenly all this material was out there and could be used against me.”

It didn’t actually break through all the noise to the surface, but the damage was done because of a cooperative news media and local bloggers, who teamed up with Russia to do harm to Democratic candidates. There were no similar efforts against Republican candidates for the House.

The intrusions in House races in states including Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Ohio, Illinois, New Mexico and North Carolina can be traced to tens of thousands of pages of documents taken from the D.C.C.C., which shares a Capitol Hill office building with the Democratic National Committee.

Because what good is having your selected president in the office if shit can’t be rubber stamped for Russia in congress? Treasonous traitors, all.

Either our ruling party — aka Republicans — are going to behave like Americans and admit that they enjoy the benefit of foreign interference in our elections, or they’re not. If they don’t, then they are intentionally aiding and abetting foreign aggression against American democracy.

These are now those old time songs we used to listen to, dance to. Never mind the words at that moment in time. It was all about the song’s chord & that “excuse” of (as one of my favorite cousins said), “squeeze me, baby” songs! 🙂 It was about the sound, the tandem voices, and sometime later, we’d actually figure out the lyrics. “Squeeze me, Baby” songs weren’t about all the lyrics in that song at that particular moment, it was the vibe those voices created so to emote with that person you were connected to in that particular dance. Because, in the day, that’s all you could get away with! The “village” was watching & making sure there wasn’t any [ahem!] inappropriate behavior taking place on that dance floor, or thereafter! 🙂

A new bombshell report from the New York Times shows that the FBI was aware of the Russian cyber attack of the DNC in September of 2015, more than a year before the election.

    More from the Times:

When Special Agent Adrian Hawkins of the Federal Bureau of Investigation called the Democratic National Committee in September 2015 to pass along some troubling news about its computer network, he was transferred, naturally, to the help desk.

His message was brief, if alarming. At least one computer system belonging to the D.N.C. had been compromised by hackers federal investigators had named “the Dukes,” a cyberespionage team linked to the Russian government.

The New York Times notes that this was the first red flag that the presidential election in the United States was, for the first time ever, being influenced by a foreign government. In this case, it was Russia – a country led by a man, Vladimir Putin, that President-elect Donald Trump has nothing but praise for.

    More from the report:

It was the cryptic first sign of a cyberespionage and information-warfare campaign devised to disrupt the 2016 presidential election, the first such attempt by a foreign power in American history. What started as an information-gathering operation, intelligence officials believe, ultimately morphed into an effort to harm one candidate, Hillary Clinton, and tip the election to her opponent, Donald J. Trump.

While Russia’s effort to swing the presidential election toward Trump was bad enough, the lethargic response from the FBI – and the fact that they chose to focus heavily on Hillary Clinton’s emails, instead of foreign involvement in an election – was particularly troubling.

I’ve posted this here before, but it bears repeating whenever the FBI is under discussion. How infuriating that Comey stonewalled for a year before his testimony before Congress — to me, this is the smoking gun, and it’s publicly available (no need to rely on investigations, leaks, etc.).

Thank you so much for this info, Arapaho. I think we need a coordinated effort to demand the immediate resignation of James Comey! He is a partisan hack who should not be the head of the FBI! I am sure President Obama must be regretting having nominated this Republican partisan to head the FBI. I know I am regretting, and apologizing, for having argued that though Comey was a conservative he came across as as very honest and principled guy.

Just a brief shared thought about this perverse election and the situation we find ourselves. I’ve tried to make sense of things but it’s been difficult. In order to make a response to the Trump situation, to me it seems vital to have moral clarity. One thing is clear and has been from the beginning. Trump is evil incarnate. There is no decency, no redeeming quality, he is an incarnate demon. Spiritual writer, M.Scott Peck, defined evil as “malignant narcissism” and that is what Trump is. I firmly believe most of us have a bit of saint and sinner in us, but there are also angels among us who are wholly committed to doing good. And there are also demons, whose malice is so compelling and total that that is what they are, pure malice, pure evil, demons, like serial killers. And Trump is one of them. Khzir Khan called Trump a “darkened soul”, an appropriate, though mild term. Trump should have been disqualified by voters, by the press out the outset. But the sad reality is that the press has no conscience, no moral sense, with rare exception they are themselves largely amoral narcissists. That’s a change from the journalists I grew up with. They concern themselves only with their 7 or 8 figure salary and their privileged lives. Hence the matter of the utter immorality of Trump is not even a focus for them. The media are only focused on how to ride the Trump train in such a way that they come out ahead. By a small margin, the polls and the election numbers tell me that most Americans recognize Trump is an evil and immoral entity that shouldn’t be president, sadly not a large enough margin in the election outcome. Too many Americans are inwardly corrupted by their own racism, bigotry, hate, and greed. They like Trump because he makes their own inner darkness of soul somehow okay and normal. From this point on for me the question of Trump is a matter of spiritual warfare, combatting in every way possible this invasive force that is in power and his attempts to turn our country into another Russia. It is total war spiritually and morally against Trump and linking up with every ally is vital.Linking up with every inner and outer resource to destroy Trump is vital. In my own cosmology spiritual warfare is a real thing, so that is what I will do.

      GE BillR.

You are so right, DJT and his children have no redeeming human qualities at all. This has been apparent since he was forced down our throats in the 1980s/90s during his divorce with Ivana and his (concurrent) affair with Marla Maples (not worth my time to look up when that was happening, in the 80s/90s, just know that Americans have been aware of how awful he is for decades).

I know most Americans are ignorant, but simply unbelievable that people would cast their precious ballot on this if-you-can’t-dazzle-them-with-brilliance-baffle-them-with-bullsh*t charlatan who didn’t mean a word he said, who couldn’t help but talk incessantly about himself.

        • December 14, 2016 at 8:36 am

I’m wondering if Tribe is taking into consideration how long it would take to get security clearances for all the electors?
I think the fastest way this can happen is if there is a substantive report that PBO can declassify, that would then be available to everyone. Not sure this can be done in time, however.
Congress does have the power to move the Dec 19th Electoral College vote, but doubt they’d actually do it………

Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte has admitted he personally killed criminal suspects as mayor of Davao.
It is the first such admission he has made since becoming president in June, but echoes comments he made in 2015.
He ran the southern city for two decades, earning a reputation for cutting crime, and criticism for allegedly supporting death squads.
Mr Duterte was speaking to business leaders at the presidential palace on Monday, before an overseas trip.
It is the latest in a series of controversial and sometimes contradictory comments by Mr Duterte.
“In Davao I used to do it personally. Just to show to the guys [police] that if I can do it why can’t you,” he said.
“And I’d go around in Davao with a motorcycle, with a big bike around, and I would just patrol the streets, looking for trouble also. I was really looking for a confrontation so I could kill.”

Good Lord. We are about to inaugurate as president a man whose election, according to the CIA, was aided by a Russian intelligence operation. Try as we might, we cannot pretend this didn’t happen.

We can’t ignore outrageous interference by an adversarial foreign power because President-elect Donald Trump’s actions question his own legitimacy, or at least his fitness to hold the nation’s highest office, virtually every day.

He jets around the country holding adulatory victory rallies in the manner of an authoritarian strongman, preening like some latter-day Juan Perón. Does this worry you? It worries me.

He can’t be bothered to sit through the regular intelligence briefings that have been a vital part of every modern president’s job. “I’m, like, a smart person,” he explained Sunday. Are you reassured? I’m not.

He reportedly is likely to nominate as secretary of state a man — ExxonMobil chief executive Rex Tillerson — whose most relevant qualification seems to be his long and cozy friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Does that sound like a good idea to you? It doesn’t to me.

BillR…Your explication is so perfectly on target. We are in a moral battle. Nothing less. You have put into clear words my mental gymnastics, and rambling thoughts. I love M.Scott Peck’s definition of evil as “malignant narcissism.” Your observation that “too many Americans like Trump because he makes their own inner darkness of soul somehow okay and normal.” is so insightful.
Trump hit right at the core of so many people who are too much like him. His narcissism is indeed malignant he is a cancer on our society and needs to be totally expunged. He will infect the entire body politic.
I come from the evangelical tradition, and have been so appalled at people who call themselves evangelical leaders supporting him, and falling all over themselves to ingratiate themselves with him. Evangelicals wonder why people are leaving them…..here is one reason. The new generation sees this and is fleeing the “church” in record numbers. His evil is in every word he says, every deed he does.
I keep relying on these words from the Old Testament: Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” This is often truncated to say pride goes before a fall, but no, it is before “destruction” I do foresee the entire destruction of DT….I don’t know where or how, and I pray he does not take us down with him.
