Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at TOD!

Nerdy, a heartfelt wish for you this day, with thanks for your tireless efforts to keep us going here when we needed it most.
Chips and Danny, with thanks to you for starting this virtual home for those of us who love our President and his family.
AMK, thanks for stopping by and giving us a nod. We miss you!
To all the contributors here, your time and thoughts are much appreciated on a daily basis. Thank you.

I cannot begin to express my thanks to our President, Barack Hussein Obama and our FLOTUS, Michelle. They’ve given us 8 years of their lives and we and the country are better for it.

For those who have some time today for some oohhhhhing and aawwwwwing, WaPo has an interesting article on its front page about how FLOTUS’ fashion choices have affected the industry. Great slideshow with it, and there actually was a pic of FLOTUS in a dress I had not seen previously! Didn’t thank that was possible but it was the one at the state dinner in India.
Michelle Obama didn’t like to discuss her clothes, but they spoke volumes http://wpo.st/GETG2

It’s been a busy week with the grandkids while they are out of school for a break this week. We did our Thanksgiving on Tuesday given the kids shared custody schedule and the fact my daughter has to work tonight. Plenty of leftovers for another meal today with much less work:-) It was a much needed break from politics but it remains horrifying to see what the Fool is doing with his administration. I’m with Charles Blow, resistance at every step and never my president.

Wishing everyone here a wonderful day!

It just IS:) We just ARE….goes without saying.Thank you to them just seems so inadequate…so grateful to have lived to see this and be a part of it all…Mark my words, not too long from now, even the haters will be giving this amazing man another look and some even wishing they had the knowledge they will soon have about who really cares about them…A lesson is about to be painfully learned. Happy Thanksgiving, GGail and TOD.

Happy Thanksgiving to my TOD family! I want to share a recipe with you. It is simple yet yummy. I picked pumpkin and pecans since both pies are associated with the holidays.

    Pumpkin Pecan Dump
Spray your crock insides before beginning.
1 can of pumpkin (15 oz) open and dump into crock
1 box of yellow cake mix Dump contents into crock
1 cube cut up butter scatter around in crock
    Stir contents together in crock
Add 2 cups chopped pecans and stir in
    Cook on high 1 hour
Turn to low for 3 hours
Serve warm with Pecan or Vanilla ice cream on top

Oh I want to make this. Can I use walnuts and how much butter is a “cube”?

        November 24, 2016 at 6:56 pm

You can pretty much use whatever you want in nuts. I was going for the Pecan pie and pumpkin pie flavors combined for those who like both and cannot make up their mind. I now realize calling a 4 oz. stick of butter a cube is probably technically incorrect. My family always said there were four “cubes” of butter in the package.

Good morning TOD, and a blessed Thanksgiving to all of you. Thank you NW for the marvelous pictures of our POTUS and FLOTUS. I know you all have noticed his huge, bright smile and laugh…..each vet stands in front of him, leans into him, shakes his hand, smiles…feels blessed to be in his presence. We have been SO blessed this past eight years! And I know he’s not done yet.

I know one thing that has irritated and maddened his opposition: He is always smiling, even after supposed defeats, he comes up cool and smiling. He lives by that old adage “never let them see you sweat.” They rant and rail in public, but he doesn’t, and I think that maddens them more than about anything. Good for him!

Happy Thanksgiving TOD! I am so thankful for Chips for starting this wonderful place where supporters of Pres Obama could come and feel and share in the love and respect for him and his family. Thank you Nerdy for continuing to keep this site going. You are so dedicated and I am grateful to you for all of your hard work. I am looking forward to dinner and football today! 🙂 By the way…..Aretha Franklin just sang the national anthem for the pre-game Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings game. Wow!! She tore it up! I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Not the mom jeans again

    Don’t tell us, please,
    This parade is their last
    We cannot bear it
    To watch them march past
    The days won’t last
    They must march past
    But don’t tell us, please.

    We’ve loved witnessing this
    All of the many moments
    She in her haute couture
    He in his mom jeans
    Their daughters growing up
    Before our wondering eyes
    All of the many moments.

They didn’t fill a stilted role
They were not titles to us
    They have been family
    And family bonds never break.
    All of the many moments
    Nearing their natural conclusion
    But don’t tell us, please.

    Don’t tell us, please.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to my TOD family. I’m thankful to live in the Obama era and will continue to live in that era until my life’s journey returns me to the universal energy that gave me a body, soul, mind and spirit. I’m thankful for my beautiful and beloved husband and our two dog peeps, Caleb and Joshua who bring joy to me and my husband every waking day. I’m thankful for the rising and setting of the sun, for the oceans and moon, for the compassion and love we have for another. I’m thankful that I can wrap myself in the beauty and awesomeness of #BlackExcellence which is part of the legacy of my beloved President and First Family. I’m thankful that I’m woke and continue the struggle with my fellow TODers. I’m thankful for all of you. I hope you and your family have a safe and joyful celebration today.

Good Thanksgiving to all of TODville.

Echo everyone’s good wishes to Chips and Danny, we’ve missed you both so much!

Too bad there’s not a meet-up at the WH today, exotic appetizers and traditional entree:

Hard to believe anyone has room for desert after this feast:

    Speaking of pies…

Here’s phone calls PBO called before sitting down to today’s cornucopia:

The First Family’s Thanksgiving menu looks totally yummy, but they’re missing one thing my table will have: I made pumpkin cream cannoli this year!

Just going quickly through my mail and noticed that Pamela shared this with me (us) from her NPS email!

“Thanksgiving is a unique holiday. Amid all the celebrations, it’s the holiday where we can reflect on all of the things that enrich our lives, strengthen our communities, provide a vital connection to our past, and much more. It’s also a great time to give thanks for our amazing national parks!

For more than a century, people have been enjoying all that the national parks have to offer and giving thanks for the opportunity to experience all of these unique places. At the National Park Foundation, the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, we’re very thankful for the commitment and support of friends like you, because our members and donors help make everything we do possible.

We love parks. We’re thankful you do, too.”
