Good morning all of TODville. The BET special was so special. I find myself crying alot watching any video or listening to any of his speeches. We have been blessed.

Notwithstanding the nightmare of #BuffoonTrump in the Whitehouse, I more than ever Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆

  13. November 16, 2016 at 10:10 am

This one of my favorite revelations about the President….he had just been to a G7 summit meeting….it was quite intense…because of the actions of Russia in the Ukraine…Putin has been ousted….

on the way back to the United States the President made a stop in England to visit …Stonehenge….what was so remarkable about this was how after dealing with the world issues and world crises…he was able to be in the moment with Stonehenge….

listen to his wonder…his sense of awe….

    • November 16, 2016 at 10:55 am

I love this so much, too. He’s so intently interested and curious about the world, experiencing every morsel of it.
He has graced my life in more ways than I can count.

My President has unbelievable strength and grace. I am barely functioning this past week, crying at unexpected times, cycling thru grief and anger and here is our President… on the world stage, head held high and still smiling. His inner moral compass shines and he gives me, us and the world hope in what America can be. The best POTUS ever! He is the America I belong to.

So Schumer just added three seats to the leadership: Bernie, Tammy Baldwin & Joe Manchin. ugh.

    • 33 57andfemale
      November 16, 2016 at 11:10 am

Schumer is exactly what Dems DON’T need in leadership right now.

    • November 16, 2016 at 11:23 am

Joe Manchin is one of the remaining disgusting Dixiecrat’s around. IMO, it’s best that the Dems cut their ties with him now. It wouldn’t surprise me if that Dixiecrat switch to a GOP w/n the next two-years.

      Omigosh.

Started reading this thread from the bottom up, didn’t see that Schumer added Manchin to leadership (see my comment to you downthread).

      WTH????

Ugh, so wish Harry Reid could just pass his Dem Senate leadership to his mentee Catherine Cortez-Masto.

      Sometimes seniority rules really suck.

This is ALL about the white male vote, Manchin & Bernie, for pete’s sake. I’m so mad right now. Fed up to my eyeballs. Same stupid shit they played when W was in, they couldn’t wait to compete with repubs for that almighty ignorant racist vote. They should have learned something in 8 yrs!

    • November 16, 2016 at 11:09 am

Joe Manchin, come Schumer what’s your problem?.

      • 43 57andfemale
        November 16, 2016 at 11:11 am

I’m sure he’s thinking that this will keep Manchin from bolting to the GOP. Because coddling the GOP has worked so well for us (snark).

        • November 16, 2016 at 11:15 am

Lots of women – Patty Murray, Tammy Baldwin, Elizabeth Warren, Stabenow and Klobuchar. Mark Warner can be iffy but it’s “his turn”, I guess. The horrific choice is Joe Manchin as “Democratic Policy and Communications.” I understand trying to keep someone who is thisclose from being a turncoat, but I do not want Manchin to be the face of the Dems in the Senate. I’ve never wanted Schumer – he’s so busy wasting time praising his GOP colleagues he has precious little time to actually fight the fascists. We’ll see. I was happy to see strong women in leadership, though.

That the new Dem “leadership” could choose a guy who spent PBO’s entire presidency denigrating him at every turn, once calling for him to be primaried, smearing Dems every chance he gets, isn’t even a member of our party unless he can abuse our resources and run for POTUS, who thinks our biggest problem is not catering enough to white working class, just makes me ill.

FIVE days ago, Manchin issued a press statement blasting Harry Reid for his statement on Trump and Bannon, saying he was an “embarrassment” to the Democratic party. Funny, I agreed with everything Harry said. And I will never forgive Bernie for ripping Hillary to shreds nor Schumer for fighting PBO on the Iran deal. Sure doesn’t feel like “my” party.

    • 82 sherijr
      November 16, 2016 at 12:51 pm

mine either right now. I’ve been a Democrat my entire life, voted straight dem for 41 years, and I am fearful this bunch is going to let us down severely when it comes to fighting Trump and his collection of crazies. I am sick over this.

      GA FFTX.

Best to ignore Manchin, whose greedy daughter upped the price of Epipens a few months ago.

His term is up in 2018, and until then, he’s no longer a blue dog, but a #Trumpaloon.

      • 84 FoxfireTX
        November 16, 2016 at 1:39 pm

GA Arapaho! But what the hell is he doing on the DEM leadership team? Just have to reconcile myself to the fact that when we lost an election in this way, there are going to be a lot of changes. What I fail to understand is that PBO has shown them the way, and they are going in the opposite direction. But they have never accepted his way, which is why we lost so much in 2010 and 2014 as well.

    • 85 57andfemale
      November 16, 2016 at 2:04 pm

Schumer rewarded a traitor like that with a leadership position?!?! I want to throw up.

  31. 86 FoxfireTX
    November 16, 2016 at 12:39 pm

So while they chase that racist white vote and at best peel off a small part of it from the GOP, and lose the Obama coalition in the process, wonder how that will work for them. I’d sure like to know WHO on that leadership team is going to try keep the Obama coalition with them because I’m not seeing anyone. And I’m an old white woman!

  32. 88 globalcitizenlinda
    November 16, 2016 at 12:49 pm

My expectations of Schumer have always been zero. So i am not surprised at his decisions. I also believe what PBO has always said : change does not come from Washington, it comes to Washington. Change comes from the bottom up …. So, focus on what needs to be done which is to organize. BS doesn’t control those kids, PBO has more influence on them.

    • 89 sherijr

    • 90 globalcitizenlinda
      November 16, 2016 at 1:02 pm

BS could not deliver those kids to the voting booth ..PBO did. So we know who is more effective. Was it just a few days ago that PBO told us himself that he will be ready to lead the organizing. Let us feel the void as PBO wraps up the presidency, the he will join in the grassroots struggles

First Step. But Until the actual conviction, I will remain very skeptical.
In MN, The State Senate reverted back to GOP. Both Houses now in GOP Control, again. A State with the GOP apparatus in shambles? Shameful. A Rushbo/Trump Type Racist was elected not in my wicked Dist 6, formerly of Bachmann’s. But in a total different Dist. Wisconsin Idiocy is gradually creeping in. Heaven, Help Us All.
