Bless yourself today with this Beyoncé SLAYAGE.

    • November 3, 2016 at 9:04 am

I’m sure the Beyonce haters will have alot to say, like why was she there. But who cares, I told one already that Beyonce have a right to go any place she want too, specially when she was invited. Anyone who didn’t like seeing Queen Bee on the CMA, all they had to do was use the remote to turn the channel, or use the pliers.

G’morning Nerdy & TOD! The Beyonce/Dixie Chicks performance was by far the best part of the entire CMA awards show. That’s why they could not put her in the first hour, because no one would watch after that!

    • 9 CEB
      November 3, 2016 at 10:50 am

This performance was everything on so many levels. It was also so gracious of her to have the Dixie Chicks, who were persona non grata for speaking out against Dubya and his wars, sing with her. Of course, there was backlash from haters as there always is when there is a challenge to the racist status quo. But we keep it moving. The producers did this for the ratings because money motivates everything. I am sure that millions who would never watch the CMA did so because of Queen Bey. I was not one of them, but happy that NW added the performance here (Slay, Bey!). I am also pleased that Beyoncé was completely herself and did not come out there in a pseudo-country outfit.

Another great day in the Las Vegas area on EV. As I said yesterday, I cannot imagine that Harry Reid is going to let his state go for Trump. He has his machine there as well that he’s spent a lifetime building.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Why aren’t Donald Trump’s businesses held to the same standard as the Clinton family’s charity?

Republicans Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich have piously called for the Clinton Foundation to be shuttered. USA TODAY says it should be wound down and its important work transferred elsewhere. The New York Times proposes that a giant wall be built between anyone named Clinton and the foundation if Hillary Clinton wins the White House — a wall that presumably will be paid for by the millions of people the charity helps.

Meanwhile, there’s been little to no discussion about how Trump could be the most indebted major party candidate for president in U.S. history, while also being the least transparent nominee since Watergate.

Voters still have no idea how much self-proclaimed billionaire Trump wants to cut his own taxes. Without his tax returns, which he has promised and failed to release two dozen times since 2011, voters have no idea if the Republican nominee for president even pays any taxes.

Americans have more information than that about the size of his … hands.

My Chicago neighborhood didn’t settle down until after 3:00 a.m. My only consolation losing my beloved Pearl in August – she was a basket case with fireworks, thunder and this was times 10 last night. Even my Kasper, who isn’t afraid of anything, was trying to hide under the bed and under the bathtub.

GM, TODers. As we enter the most intense time of the election when emotions run high, nerves are taut and sleep becomes elusive, I hope you take the time to breathe, eat reasonably healthy meals and get as much sleep as you can. It takes heroic efforts on the part of many people to run a national or statewide campaign and the staffers –especially the Clinton ones– are looking a little exhausted at this point. Please ignore all polls, false media narratives and scare mongering e-mails and do your part to GOTV. We can do this!!

This is a very interesting long read on the point that was discussed here last night, i.e., that we should have “empathy” for DT voters, a point many of us contested. This is an update of a Variety piece from the 1930’s trying to determine who is a Nazi and who rejected it. The myriad of factors listed by so many make no difference whatsoever. In the end, it comes down to character which is the point that has been made by so many throughout this election. It is fundamentally about our character as a country.

All day yesterday it was Hillary at 270 and Trump still struggling to fine a pathway to 270. He would have to win all the battle ground states hen pick off a blue state. That is what Cornhacky were saying yesterday.

      • November 3, 2016 at 10:36 am

I could write a long essay on this will many, many examples, but I am trying to keep myself calm and to “hold my powder” for a later date. I will only add that the oppressed are not even allowed their grief and pain; not allowed to object are instead expected to hug their chains and to believe that this is all that they deserve. They are expected to hold the oppressors in respect, reverence, love and gratitude. We have seen this show too many times and changed the channel.

PA is the true Firewall. Trump CANNOT win without Pennsylvania. Period!

      • 88 JER
        November 3, 2016 at 12:28 pm

What impact would a continuing SEPTA [transit] strike [in Philadelphia] have on Election Day? Here are some points to consider.

        1. The main concern is that Philadelphia voters who rely on SEPTA and now have to find other ways to work and school might not be able to vote because they’ll leave home before polls open at 7 a.m. and not get home until after polls close at 8 p.m. The number of potentially affected voters is not known. …

        5. Donald Trump would be the main beneficiary of a lower turnout in Philadelphia, where registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans 7 to 1. Hillary Clinton’s campaign is banking on support in the city and surrounding counties to carry Pennsylvania, where Clinton has a 4 percent edge in the latest polls. … http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/real-time/What-would-a-SEPTA-strike-mean-for-Election-Day–.html

        • November 3, 2016 at 12:51 pm

So what is anybody doing about this? If Philly is so critical to this election, let’s not have it lost by a transit strike.

          • November 3, 2016 at 1:09 pm

SEPTA’s said that if it looks like an agreement will not be reached before Election Day, it will look to “enjoin the strike for November 8th to ensure that the strike does not prevent any voters from getting to the polls and exercising their right to vote.”

To do that, SEPTA would have to seek (and win) an injunction from the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas to order TWU workers back on the job for the day. They’d have to prove the welfare or safety of members of the public is at risk. If an injunction were to be approved, it would be enforced by the Philadelphia Sheriff’s office.

Congressman Bob Brady (D-Philadelphia) has being acting as a go-between for the two sides. He said Wednesday night that any settlement will have to come within SEPTA’s budget constraints.

“I talked to the governor. There’s no money there. I talked to the mayor, there’s no money there. I even talked to our transportation chairman,” said Brady.

But perhaps the biggest concern surrounding the ongoing talks is the countdown to Election Day. If traffic on Nov. 8 looks anything it has over the last two days, voters could face a long day commuting to and from work, which may leave them less time to hit the polls.

“They should be concerned. I’m concerned. I’m party chairman. I’m real concerned,” Brady said.

Good morning, late though it is. Last night I stayed with a friend who had a big chemo treatment Tuesday. A group of us are taking turns staying overnight with her for a few days. To top off her cancer, her husband died last May, so we are stepping in. I do not know how she is doing it, but her attitude is amazing. A dear friend for many years. That is why I’m just now reading. Her treatment is working, and the doctors are believing her treatments will be over by Christmas. We are praying that will happen.

Just have to give another word of congratulations to the Cubs! Once a Chicago girl, always a Chicago girl! I have friends who have, like FLOTUS been loyal Cubs fans for my entire life, and now, are rewarded. Congratulations to all of Chicagoland, and Cubs fans everywhere.

For these young people, I suspect they do not know there was a time in the not too distant past when all of these things were big factors for all of us. These kids grew up with these benefits and may well not recognize they would disappear if Obamacare is repealed.

Jackie so glad your fur baby is okay!!! Sending healing positive energy your way for your pupster’s recovery. We’ve had a large uptick in coyote attacks in my neighborhood all year, Everyone on my street, this summer lost either their cat or their dog to a family of coyotes that have moved into our hood from Griffith Park. They’ve gotten very bold, jumping high fences, hiding under people’s outside stairs/bushes to attack; rolling up on people’s back yard decks in broad daylight to attack people’s pets even when the person is outside with their pet. They’ve become desensitized it appears and the typical “hazing” methods don’t seem to have much effect. Some folks in neighborhood have gotten together and formed a dog walking group so that some people can chase off the coyotes while others protect/walk their dogs at the same time.
