This is sad. Melania may be an abused wife after all, I certainly would expect emotional abuse. I am normally reluctant to post comments like this but another person on twitter said he was there at the same time and it fits with his recollection although his group used a different pejorative term as a nickname. Given what we’ve seen of DT, I don’t find this surprising. Anyone who advocates violence as much as he does usually lives with it. I know for so many of us, the way he stalked Hillary on that stage in the second debate sent our spider senses into the danger zone.
I have a dog who watches tv routinely. The funny thing is that she is not into shows with dogs or other animals, she is into watching people:-) It if part of the reason I leave the tv running when I walk away, she is content to sit and watch!
Good evening, all. And many many thanks, Nerdy. You are a World Champion too!
I went out today and did some GOTV stuff-canvassing identified Democratic households. Most were out because it was in the afternoon, but the people I did meet, including a neighbor and a nanny, were really hyped to vote for Hillary! They were really eager and enthusiastic! The area I was in was partially rich, partially middle/lower middle class. it’s probably mostly Republican, but the Democrats that are there are fired up and ready to go! I’m going to a Hillary rally tomorrow afternoon at Eastern Market (in Detroit) and I’ll do more work on Sunday.

Please get this out as best you can. This is the PBO legacy, and how HRC is the best possible steward for its continuation. Let’s do our best to get this out.
Hello, wonderful TOD family! I’ve been lurking for weeks and weeks, traveling and behind on work and distracted and checking TOD on phone rather than laptop, which means it’s very hard for me to post/comment because I am tech challenged. But I have loved, counted on, and gotten through thanks to all that is here. Thank you NerdyWonka, word warrior, world changer, genius and generous lighthouse guardian and trailblazer. Love to Chipsticks, and gratitude too. I am so glad that POTUS was in my town of Chapel Hill NC this week, but so sad that I was not there to go see him. So close and yet so far. We are traveling right now, in Taiwan, coming home 11/8 afternoon so we can go watch the victorious celebrations of HRC’s election (see it believe it not cocky but visualizing the great good outcome) with our dear friend. Yes we voted EARLY here in NC. THis is a slide show of 24 images from PBO’s NC visit on the campus of my alma mater, UNC Chapel Hill. There are so wonderful. I am eager to listen to his speech. LOVE the tweet’s I’ve been seeing. Love all of you. Love having here to come to. LOVE all you good people who are getting out there digging in reaching out working hard, holding the lamp by the path so people can see. This is a family of good people. It means everything to me to have here here. A few more days. It’s hard to see these things, but I cherish the knowledge that he and his people are clearly showing the world who they are and many many many people see, and clearly, and will not be steered wrong again. Courage and eyes and minds on POTUS and FLOTUS and what they are doing every day, and in the past too. Purple rain, purple rain…. and POTUS with Superman. And Pete Souza’s pix. POSSIBILITY OF FBI LEAKS TO TRUMP CAMPAIGN RAISES ALARM (Rachel Maddow)
Spencer Ackerman, national security editor for The Guardian, talks with Rachel Maddow about concerns about connections between the Donald Trump campaign and the FBI, particularly the New York field office, and the apparent willingness of some in the FBI to politicize the bureau to help Trump. Duration: 20:29
Sorry, but methinks Wyden is full of shit and he can miss me with all this hypocritical talk. He is couching this under “civil liberties” when (he knows damn well) the issue is far more targeted and nefarious. The FBI has specifically gone after a presidential candidate to impact the outcome of the election. This has very little to do with privacy and surveillance. It’s about settling old grudges against one person, and a racist and misogynistic faction of the FBI interfering directly with an upcoming election because they would prefer to have Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
Wyden was quiet about wikileaks hacking private emails…but now he wants to talk about privacy and civil liberties?
And why hasn’t “Mr. Anti-Surveillance and Pro-civil Liberties” – Snowden said a word about the FBI? For the past three years he has been railing against the NSA, but nary a damn peep from him about the FBI’s goings-on in the past week. WHY?!?!?
Thank you Alycee for posting this tweet. So good to know.
And thank you to everyone here at TOD. You are my sanity, my rock, while the world goes crazy. You are the truth. I know I can always turn to TOD whenever I need to know what is really going on. Thank you, thank you.
Been working daily at the local phone bank helping get everyone online to make calls. Lovely, caring men and women, young and old, some coming every day to call. We are swamped with callers every day. Ran out of computers early yesterday. And the people just keep coming. Love it!!
Thank you to all each of you is doing. I know you think those of us working the phone banks are doing the “important” work, but I think your posting of article and speech links, tweets, etc., is just as important as it helps to keep those of us phoning, etc., going. They give us hope and energy to show up another day. I know I could not keep up this pace without all you all provide for me here at TOD. ❤️😊
And huge thank yous to our dear Nerdy for holding down the fort in Chips’ absence.💖👏
It just hit me why Melania was put out to give the “Stop cyber bullying” speech. The campaign knows the temperament issue and harmful things Donald has said is stopping some women from voting for him so by showing Melania making her cause to stop this should counter Donald’s problem in their minds. Instead her speech just looks hypocritical and unaware.
Whether a civil rights attorney for 17 years or having held 5 different elected offices over 22 years, Tim and Anne have always chosen to serve others. I can think of many forks in the road during my career where I have chosen money or security or prestige, but they have not. They endured many lean years where public servant salaries left them worried if they would be able to pay for their 3 children to attend college, but they had faith in their lives of service. When my oldest son was old enough to travel alone on an airplane, I bought him a ticket to spend 2 weeks in Richmond, living with the Kaine Family. They are the role models I choose for my children.
OBAMA EFFECT – After Obama’s visits, in-person early voting spiked in South Florida and Jacksonville, where Republicans typically run up the margins in elections but where Democrats are just 2,541 behind Republicans in casting early and absentee ballots now. Obama made sure in Miami and Jacksonville to gin up the Democrat trifecta of women, minorities and young people by mocking Trump and all but calling him a sexist who accepts “the support of Klan sympathizers.” Guess what will probably happen in the Orlando-area when POTUS winds up in Kissimmee?
The Justice Department has replaced the New York team of agents and lawyers investigating the death of Eric Garner, officials said, a highly unusual shake-up that could jump-start the long-stalled case and put the government back on track to seek criminal charges.
Federal authorities have been investigating whether officers violated Mr. Garner’s civil rights in his fatal encounter with the police. But the case had been slowed by a dispute because federal prosecutors and Federal Bureau of Investigation officials in New York opposed bringing charges, while prosecutors with the Civil Rights Division at the Justice Department in Washington argued there was clear evidence to do so.
In recent weeks, the F.B.I. agents who have been investigating the case were replaced with agents from outside New York, according to five federal officials in New York and Washington. Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn are no longer assigned to the case.

Twitter has removed a series of fake campaign ads trying to convince Clinton voters that it’s possible to vote by text.
The fake ads were spotted yesterday by Robert McNees, a physicist at Loyola University Chicago, who reported them to Twitter only to receive word back that the tweets didn’t violate the site’s terms of service, despite spreading false information and attempting to disenfranchise voters.
BuzzFeed News later picked up the story, bringing it to Twitter’s attention. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey responded about an hour later, saying, “Not sure how this slipped past us, but now it’s fixed.”

Yes, Chaffetz is a jerk and now that he’s had his 15 minutes of fame, it’s gone to his head and he thinks he’ll make a bigger name for himself by harassing and HRC. I had so hoped that there was someone challenging him that could take his seat, but I suppose that’s wishful thinking.
The GOP is so use to saying what they want to say and getting no push back. It’s a rare treat when someone in the media decides to act like a journalist, even if to a small degree.
Republicans must have decided that a Trump in the WH would mean that someone else will be running the show…Pence???? I suspect, no matter the outcome, the infighting will get worse.
I’m sure he asked at least twice for help in signing in. Once he also mentioned that he had something ready to post (to help NW.) Haven’t seen him since that second (maybe third) asking for help in signing in. Does anyone have a way to contact NW and find out what is going on?! He does always check in when traveling. I sure do miss him!!!!
As Mike Lofgren explained several years ago, that is exactly what Republicans are hoping for.
There are tens of millions of low-information voters who hardly know which party controls which branch of government, let alone which party is pursuing a particular legislative tactic. These voters’ confusion over who did what allows them to form the conclusion that “they are all crooks,” and that “government is no good,” further leading them to think, “a plague on both your houses” and “the parties are like two kids in a school yard.” This ill-informed public cynicism, in its turn, further intensifies the long-term decline in public trust in government that has been taking place since the early 1960s – a distrust that has been stoked by Republican rhetoric at every turn (“Government is the problem,” declared Ronald Reagan in 1980).
To the extent that liberals believe in government as a force for good, it is imperative to keep in mind that the end goal here is to do what is necessary to uphold the democratic processes that were put in place to govern this diverse country. That means continuing to aspire to the better politics described by President Obama.

My election day survival plan: clean out and organize closets, pantry, media and bookshelves; eat my favorite foods (no drinking, will need a clear head); follow election results online with sound off only periodically; send positive thoughts and prayers that it is a bloodless process (the first time that this has been necessary) and soothing music in the background. After the winner is called, I will call and text family and friends either to celebrate or to encourage everyone to persevere (one thing that the A-A members of my family and friends know is how to survive in a hostile environment). I will also be checking in with my TOD ohana to help encourage anyone who is on the cliff and hopefully, to celebrate a win for Hillary, the US and the world. If we win, I will try to be gracious.
I hope never again to feel the gut-wrenching anxiety and fear that I have experienced around these elections since 2007. I always cared, but it was not this visceral reaction that I have had from Barack’s runs through Hillary’s. So much was/is clearly at stake, so many hurdles in a tainted system, so much real evil to combat, and such a hard fight to go high, to not return hate for hate, and to not become even more cynical have all worn me down. But, like Anne Frank, I still believe that people are mostly good and that there is always hope. I also remind myself of the many changes in this country and in the world that I could not imagine happening in my lifetime, then I am filled with strength to faint not and to continue on in the race.
Sounds like a good plan. I did not watch the 2008 or 2012 election results until after it was over and did not listen to any pundit shows I was too nervous in 2008 but more confident because PBO was confident in 2012.
Good afternoon Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Friday afternoon. TGIF>> Congrats COS, on being first this morning.
Nerdy, thanks so much for helping Ms. Chips and the sacrifices you are making for us TOD’ers. 💫🙏👌👊❤

FL: Yesterday was largest turnout of black voters so far (55k);
585K AA voters have cast votes so far, up 28% compared to same point in ’12.
But CNN and MSNBC sez…
The media isn’t telling this story. All I’m hearing is that the AA vote is depressed this year. Good to hear the truth is the opposite.

This is offensive all around. Not surprising considering the source. That said…this is FRAUD! They should be gone after.
I warned my elections office about this two weeks ago. The person to whom I spoke was not aware of it.

O/T… I think df asked yesterday about amk. I believe it’s been over a week since he commented?
Has anyone heard from him? I wonder if his sign-on issue was addressed/resolved.

Have a beautiful day, TOD ohana.
To all, I hope that you shower all those you encounter with your benevolent, humanitarian, and kind-hearted spirit today. ❤ ❤ ❤
Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆
The news says Hilary is leading but that somehow I is horrible and bad news for her??😩
And they acknowledge that trump is losing trying to catch up… But that’s great news for him and wonderful.
I think the media has all been exposed to red kryptonite 🙃
