whitehouse – Progress: Automakers in the last model year hit a new fuel economy record while also outperforming greenhouse gas emissions standards for the fourth consecutive year, helping to protect our planet and save consumers money. To date, emissions standards have reduced almost 130 million metric tons of CO2—close to the amount of greenhouse gases emitted from the electricity consumed by 20 million homes in one year. #ActOnClimate

Crowd was so excited to see PBO, chanting Obama after James Taylor concluded and whenever a person came on stage to prepare his podium 🙂 .

Tally, after 240 years of having only men as president we KNEW this couldn’t happen without it getting ugly. Hillary certainly knew, and I so admire her for being willing to do this. It had to be a very difficult decision for her. But we WILL win this! She has the structure she built to take this home. Whenever it gets to me, I remind myself that this country elected Barack Hussein Obama TWICE. That country is not going to elect DT notwithstanding the backlash.

Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has taken a lot of grief here in TX for his support of Hillary and bashing of DT. Just listened to a clip of an interview, his and other NBA teams will no longer be staying at Trump hotels on the road. YES! I hope Trump pays a huge financial price for the damage he’s done to this country. Money is the only thing he cares about so it hits him where it hurts.

      GE LH.

Josh Marshall posts his thoughts on “rogue FBI agents here,” offering details to article that is no doubt behind WSJ paywall.

Sounds like WSJ published something very similar to what the NYTimes posted on their homepage yesterday about this time (and you helped me understand what “Clinton Cash” is).

And as a reminder, Comey testified before Congress on Sept 28 on what his criteria for determining whether to make an exception to “neither confirm nor deny” an FBI investigation is being conducted, and flatly stated that the public has no right to know whether WikiLeaks/Russia/Assange are tampering with a US Presidential election, yet Clinton email investigation does merit public disclosure.

So McTurtle has gone all in for insane, deplorable DJT tonight.

From the article (out of sequence, but makes more sense this way):

“speaking in a cavernous tractor dealership in central Kentucky on Wednesday night — where McConnell was introduced as the “most powerful Republican in the world” — the senator went all in for Trump before a small but enthusiastic crowd…”

In response to this introduction, McTurtle responded:
“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has made his strongest statement yet on his party’s presidential nominee, telling a rally in his home state Wednesday that ‘we need a new president, Donald Trump, to be the most powerful Republican in America.'”

Many of you may be familiar with Sam Wang of Princeton Election Consortium. He has a respected track record of election analysis and prediction. With his model he now projects Clinton with 100% probability of election victory. I assume that movement from 99% was prompted by today’s positive swing state polls and the fact we’re close to election day. http://election.princeton.edu All of that is of course dependent on all of us doing our jobs to get out the vote.

I just press the star on the Reply page. It starts out as just an outline of a star, then when I touch it, the star fills in. That’s how you “like” a reply using the WordPress reader app. At least, that’s how it works on my iPhone.

    Good Morning TOD

I took VC and son to the DNC last night to help with GOTV. There were so many people volunteering last night that there was a wait time for computers to do predictive calling. For those of you who are not familiar with this it’s where the system dials the numbers and they ring right to your phone. After about 15 minutes we each got a computer but by then the system was so overloaded with callers from all over the US that it took forever to get it to connect with the voters. We were calling Florida voters to get them to early vote. It took me 20 minutes to connect to a caller and it ended up being a wrong number. After waiting another 15 minutes to no avail we asked for call sheets. We then called absentee application voters in NC for about an hour. Both VC and son got to make calls and were pretty darn good at it. To quote her son after connecting with his first caller, “that felt good”. Everyone who can should give it a try. It does give you a sense of accomplishment and makes you feel like you are making a difference.

I want to say something about polls. When pollsters call voters this late in the election cycle they are primarily asking for people who haven’t voted as to who they support. Now there are polls being done specifically to find out who people supported who already voted but most of these polls now are polling people who haven’t yet voted to find out where there support is at. This is why polls are showing the race close. Hillary’s team is pushing early voting. This is why the early voting numbers are looking so good for her. She has a ground game. He has rallies and the conservative entertainment complex. More R’s are early voting this year but nothing like the D’s. His voters will turnout on election day and in most cases PBO lost the election day count but it didn’t matter because he had built up such a big lead with early voting. This is why there is such a big push by her and her surrogates to get her supporters to bank those votes.NOW.

    One more thing….

Regarding the AA vote this election cycle. It is unrealistic for the pundits to expect Hillary to be able to turnout the vote at the same level that PBO did 4 and 8 years ago. PBO had historic AA raw vote turnout with his election for all the obvious reasons. So much of that vote was about pride and to expect her to match that is simply unrealistic. She’ll get a great share of that vote but Hillary needs to turnout more of the women and Latino vote which indicators show she is targeting.

    Now I’m off to work.

Have a great O’Day and Congrats to the Chicago Cubs – World Series Champions –

    • November 3, 2016 at 9:49 am

“Regarding the AA vote this election cycle. It is unrealistic for the pundits to expect Hillary to be able to turnout the vote at the same level that PBO did 4 and 8 years ago…”

Not to mention the voter suppression tactics that are in place, especially in states run by Republicans…reductions in polling places located in predominantly AA/Democratic areas; reduction in early voting days; voter id requirements while making it difficult to obtain the required *type* of id…

Someone mentioned that, while the AA early vote is down, it is not down as significantly as the media is inferring… 1% I believe?!?!?!
