I saw a comment on Facebook this morning, and I agree with it 100%. They said that if Trump supporters can overlook the fact that Trump is a racists, sexists, liar, forcing himself on women, grabbing women private area against their will, calling women pigs, making fun of a disable man, picking fight with a gold star family, encouraging his supporters to shoot his opponent, threatening to arrest his opponent, threatening not to accept the results of the election, then we supporters can overlook this email so call scandal. Vote Hillary.

Have fun, D-ette! I say, stake out a spot near the exit and tell the family you’ll take care of their bags/backpacks so that they have their hands free to explore. Then you can enter at the exit, walk back a few paces to get a sense of the place, then exit at your leisure and wait for them to arrive.

Thank you meta and JER for posting this ceremony. I have a very special soft spot in my heart for the U.S. Navy, and love their shipboard ceremonies. Every summer while I was in college, and the summer after, I worked as a GS-3, clerk-typist for the Navy Department on Constitution Avenue, where the Viet Nam Memorial is now. Back in those days I made enough during the summer to pay for my entire first semester of school, plus my clothes, which at that time was a big deal.
The people I worked with were classy, professional and smart. I worked in the ship design division, which was exciting. At that time they were working on nuclear powered aircraft carriers and Nautilus class submarines. So, this video gave me the familiar chill, the same as when I went to the piping aboard ceremony.
The Navy has the best ceremonies (sorry, other services, it’s true)! Very, very rare for me to walk away from any of them over the years, without first getting a tear in my eye!

We are in GOTV mode so my presence iwill be scarce here for the next week 10 days.
Also, I’m not sure if this is done in other states but when we vote in my county one of the poll workers always announces in the hall very loudly when we have a 1st time voter. Although there was no line to vote this morning the hall was full with voters and that announcement was made 4 times when I was there. It always gives me great joy to hear that someone is voting for the 1st time.
Have a great weekend and remember all the rest is just noise. No one that we are calling to GOTV is concerned about emails. Folks have already made up there minds at this point.

There’s something about Comey that I found unsettling – the last go-around – and now this. During the hearings, he seemed to be taking it personally, looking flustered, tired, maybe off track. He seemed to change some of his answers when questioned, and nixed others. Now he takes this action, against the warnings of the AG that it would be unseemly to do it this close to the election, issues the letter to Congress in one day, then issues a warning/heads up of sorts (“might be misleading”) to FBI employees. Something’s not right in his thinking (maybe over and above any political reasoning he may or may not be following). Even high-ranking military are sometimes relieved from duty for “lack of confidence.” Hoping the President and Attorney General dig in there, and find out what’s going on with him. Truthfully, I think he needs some type of evaluation, before something worse happens.
Also, that sad-puppy-dog look on his face doesn’t help much.
A few threads back someone posted a link to an 8 minute video of Akala, the rapper, on a British talk show. The level of intelligence in this young man blew me away, and I started watching other YouTube videos of him speaking. I found this one of him speaking at Oxford Union in England to be mind blowing, as I never learned the history he talks about.
Also a few threads back Prettyfoot58 wrote about her recent experience at the new Museum of African American History in Washington DC, and how profound it was for her. I realized it might be really interesting to many of you to see this video of Akala’s talk at Oxford Union. (1hr,16min)
I watched this video. It was riveting. I plan to watch more of his lectures. I also plan to spread the word.

Same section of federal statutes that they use when reviewing police shootings. Requires state action “under color of law” and violation of civil rights. But as we all now know, it is a tough test, much more difficult than most state statutes.
