    Hello everyone.

One of the first things to hit my Twitter this morning was GoBrooklyn’s sister announcing her death. I saw that a few of you wanted a thread just for her, so here you go.

Thank you LL for the post honoring our beloved GoBrooklyn. Her sister sends announcements on the update of her GoFund Me account and they are half way there. I read her comments from another Blog and she was truly a unique soul that left us way too soon. I pray that the MoonShot that VP Biden and others make Cancer a thing of the past that no one has to suffer an early death and pain.

    Thank you very much, LL.

GoB was such a strong person, full of hope. Despite so many setbacks and discouragements and procedures and pain, she carried on, her head held high with determination and hope. And here she shared her love of President Obama and the First Family with us, always a positive inspiration.

Be safe and sound in your journey, GoBrooklyn. You are loved.

The American people and the whole world will not be able to thank President Obama and VP Biden enough for this focus on cancer. Too many of us have lost loved ones and felt the despair at seeing them endure pain. A breakthrough that would one day make cancer a scourge of the past would be one of the greatest achievements in history.

May you Rest in Power, Ms. GoBrooklyn!

I vividly remember the many updates you provided about all the treatments, progress, and setbacks with your medical struggles. you did all this with a lot of determination and a joke as you so fit.

yet you were always so kind to others here (including me) whenever we need some kind of encouragement.

I had always hoped that you would be among the lucky ones to make it but your creator had other plans.

you have gone too soon and you will be greatly missed.

hope you family can eventually find some consolation and peace as they deal with such a tremendous loss.

Do Not Stand By My Grave And Weep

By Mary Elizabeth Frye – 1932

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

    GE TODville.

    What devastating news.

    Am shocked, stunned and saddened.

She, TODville and @jeffersonobama got me through #Campaign2012, loved her so much and crushed to hear this news.

Not the best photo or arrangement, but it was done in haste (like most of my postings here 😦 ).

Condolences to @GoBrooklyn’s family and to all she touched and inspired.

    • October 24, 2016 at 8:32 pm

        Thank you, Meta.

Was aiming for a sheltering spot, under a canopy of trees (in this case… succulents) with a place that awaits her spirit. (The good news is that these “trees” won’t lose their leaves, they’ll be around for the life the hardy plant.)

Absolutely devastated to hear this news, my interest in the race-horse silliness and treating DJT as if he were a serious candidate to replace PBO completely evaporated today.

Such a wonderful soul to have gone through such agony and turmoil… damn cancer, taking Allison, PBO’s mother, Joe Biden’s son, Steve Jobs, countless others, at an age when they had so much good to contribute to this world.

Grieving with Allison’s family, who have so much pain and loss now.

So saddened to hear about GoBrooklyn’s passing. This Maya Angelou poem came to my mind, I imagined a glorious transition for her:

    Angels gather.
    The rush of mad air
    cyclones through.
    Wing tips brush the
    hair, a million
    stand; waving black anemones.
    Hosannahs crush the
    shell’s ear tender, and
    down clattering
    to the floor.
    Harps sound,
    undulate their
    sensuous meanings.
    Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
    beyond the door.

    RIP & Bless!
