Tried for 7 years and 10 months to make peace with these people – and in the end they pretend they were his friend. We shall hear much in these two weeks.

I’m waiting for the Senate to approve the appointment of Judge Merrick Garland before Christmas – proving for all time what aholes they are.

I believe it’s called ‘taking no prisoners’- and PBO is undoubtedly THE most righteous man on the earth today.

      October 24, 2016 at 9:25 am

Wow! That is the most direct and confrontational public statement I have ever heard PBO make against a specific US politician. I hope he has many more in his arsenal and uses them all in merciless payback. People like Issa thought they had all the cards and would be rewarded for their insults and obstruction. Karma, in the form of President Obama, is proving them wrong.

    • October 24, 2016 at 10:51 am

I am glad to see that he is calling this out in no uncertain terms. Issa is despicable certainly; now he’s hypocritical in his despicableness. I’m really sure that that is not a words, but there are no words for this man. If I am this angry, I can only imagine how President Obama is that this toad would now seek to win votes by using the president’s image. What a sick joke. Go ahead, Mr. President; lay ’em all low!

    • October 24, 2016 at 12:34 pm

I love that PBO is feeling free to tell the Republicans — and probably a few Democrats — about themselves. Even while talking about how low they have gone, he is able to “stay high”. Stay classy, President Obama.

      October 24, 2016 at 1:28 pm

Question- what was the reference about Doug in Darrell Issa comment? At first I thought PBO just got his first name wrong as both started with a D, but further down he said ” Was this you Doug — that Darrell Issa was Trump etc” I looked up Issa on Wikipedia and his middle name is Edward so that has nothing to do with it. I am confused here.

      • October 24, 2016 at 1:49 pm

Issa’s Dem opponent is Doug Applegate. I think punctuation is the problem here. I think President Obama was saying “As far as a can tell, Doug, Issa’s primary contribution…” and later “I think some called Darrel Issa, was that you, Doug?, Trump before there was Trump”. So he was addressing Doug Applegate. And since it was a fund-raiser, Applegate was probably there so that would make sense.

    Pathetic.ALWAYS about him

During a Sunday rally in Naples, Florida, Donald Trump appeared to seek assurance about his candidacy from the crowd.

“When I’m president, if companies want to fire their workers and leave — Are you okay? Listen. When I’m president, this is to me, like, this is why I started. Are we glad that I started? Are we happy?” he asked the audience, according to the Washington Post. “Well, I’ll let you know on the evening of Nov. 8 whether I’m glad.”

These ads this election cycle have been phenomenal. She is blessed to have such an extraordinary team of surrogates out there supporting her bid for the Presidency. I can’t think of another candidate in the last 40 years that was fortunate enough to have a team like this to stump on their behalf.

I cannot wait to vote this Thursday.

      • October 24, 2016 at 12:45 pm

Today is the first day of early voting in Fla. and I have already had to call the elections office about: No one I know had received the sample ballots; unsolicited calls, especially to people over 60, about voting by mail (this is the first time that this has occurred) and about the vote by text scam that targets mostly young people. There are so many tricks to steal and suppress the vote that any irregularity makes me wary. I was told by the clerk who took my call: sample ballots were mailed out Friday (the post has not been delivered to my area yet), and the vote by mail came from a second party Democratic group. They had received many calls about this, they are legit. and the votes are routed to the elections office, but this group did this without notifying the elections office etc. I am suspicious of anything that is unsolicited and my 86 year old mother (who has received two such calls) is very sharp as well and does not fall for scams and schemes, but not everyone is so. In an election, especially one like this, it is not a good idea to do something with your vote that you had not done before especially at someone else’s behest. She had not heard about the vote-by-text scheme, and I was all you need to let the FBI know.
She mentioned that all election information and sample ballots were on-line, I told her that I knew this because I had already accessed the information, but pointed out that there are many elderly people who do not have access to computers, the internet or the ability to maneuver them. Not everyone has children and grandchildren to keep Nana up on the latest in telecommunications. Not making things convenient for seniors is another way to suppress the vote. I hope that after this election is over, the reforms that we need will be a priority.

I’m very sad to hear of the passing of GoBrooklyn. She’s been in my thoughts as I haven’t seen her post here in so long. She was such a fighter, I can only believe that she knew it was time and gave herself up to the arms of the Lord. My deepest condolences to her family and friends and TOD companions. Our sadness here shows that there is little distinction between our IRL friends and online friends anymore. I lost two Facebook friends over the past year, and the losses couldn’t have hit harder if they were next-door neighbors.

Over the weekend I heard some pundit say nonsense like their is NO enthusiasm for either candidate…….I wonder what 340 to 360 electoral votes translates to in their minds?

    • October 24, 2016 at 11:55 am

Such lies. They should have been here in my red district on Saturday. They wish there was no enthusiasm on our side.

    • 141 57andfemale
      October 24, 2016 at 11:59 am

I stay away from most punditry this election (Mr. 57 has to repeat it all to me, which is upsetting enough). I’ve been watching Joy Ann Reid on the weekends. I got caught watching the show that follows her – nothing but regurgitated stale talking points from 7, 6-figure “journalists” who have not paid an ounce of attention to how HRC looks, sounds and campaign in 2016. It’s maddening.

HRC trounced BS in the primaries, for which she gets virtually no credit. Makes me crazy.

    • 142 FoxfireTX
      October 24, 2016 at 12:09 pm

You would think these pundits and candidates together would learn, but they seem incapable of any thought. The VAST majority of voters never attend a political rally or campaign event in their lives. The folks you see there usually fall into one of two categories: the very politically committed, or two, undecideds who somehow hope that seeing the candidates in person will lead them to a decision. Yet both pundits and candidates rely on this “rally enthusiasm” meme to determine enthusiasm/outcomes. Happened to Romney, happened in this election to Bernie. This, in part, is why Trump’s strategy of just doing rallies is such a failure. He bought into this as well. But the well run campaigns know it takes a ground game because you have the find all those other voters–who constitute the vast majority– who would never consider going to a rally. I have one sister who has never been to a campaign event in her life, and another who went to her first event with me to meet Michelle Obama, at the ripe age of 63.
