    Good evening TOD —
Many of you might not know me, as I haven’t posted here in quite a while. I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of our dear GoBrooklyn. I will never forget “meeting” her on this blog and how sweet she was, periodically checking in on me as I juggled my studies and working as an organizer on the Obama 2012 campaign. I thought about her a lot over the years and tried to check in to see how she was doing. She never wavered in her spirit, resilience and fight to rid herself of that terrible disease. I’m sad but also relieved that she is no longer suffering. Love you all.

In a similar vein to AMK’s post, early voting records in Dallas/Fort Worth were absolutely shattered today! The metro area consists of 3 counties and the numbers are as follows, 2016, then 2012 then 2008

    Dallas 58,000 32, 512 34, 415

    Tarrant 43,000+ 30, 133 28.757

    Collin 30,000+ 16, 531 13, 900

Dallas is the only blue country, hard to read Tarrant and Collin. Tarrant is my county, my gut tells me it is less sexist than it was racist when we were working for PBO in 2008. I know there were a lot of Hillary voters from the primary that voted McCain in the general. Collin has grown in population pretty dramatically which accounts for quite a bit of its numbers. I would guess that is somewhere in between the blue Dallas county and the red Tarrant county. From what I’ve seen on the news here, it was like this across the state. So just maybe,,,,,,,,,Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi Don, did you watch Chris Hayes interviewing Micheal Moore by any chance? They were attacking Obamacare. Micheal Moore saying that you don’t buy the bronze…you buy gold..something to that affect. He said Social security was not started like that. I am not American but i am sure SS did not start with everything it has today but was improved over time. Am i correct? If so, can you or all of you please school Chris Hayes and Micheal Moore. This really upset me last night.

You are absolutely correct! When 1st started, in order to appease southern legislators, farm & domestic workers (majority AA) were excluded.

Internally, the Clinton team is closely watching — and cheering — early voting and registration figures in strategically imperative battlegrounds.

In Nevada, they’re pointing to huge Democratic turnout, including in Las Vegas’ Clark County, over the first two days of early voting, compared to anemic performance among Republicans. In Arizona, a 20,000 vote deficit for Democrats at this point in 2012 has turned into a 1,000 vote lead now. In Colorado, the number of registered Democrats recently overtook the number of registered Republicans for the first time ever. And in Florida, Republicans entered the week only ahead of Democrats by 1.7 percent, compared to a 5.3 percent lead at this point four years ago. That’s largely on the back of a 99 percent increase in Latino voting compared to this time in 2012.

To buttress Clinton’s advantage in most swing states and minimize her deficit in others, the campaign has configured a schedule for Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine that uncharacteristically has them both publicly campaigning with little pause before Election Day. Joining them on the trail at a picked-up pace will be their highest-profile surrogates, including: Obama, who was in Nevada for Clinton on Sunday and is due to visit Florida on Friday; former President Bill Clinton, who spent the weekend in Florida and is now headed to North Carolina; Vice President Joe Biden, due to visit Ohio and Pennsylvania this week; Senator Elizabeth Warren, scheduled for New Hampshire and North Carolina; Michelle Obama, in North Carolina on Thursday; and Bernie Sanders.

And, in a decision that Democrats describe as evidence that the campaign is still planning an expensive final push, Clinton, Kaine, and Obama all still have high-dollar private fundraisers on their schedule this week, according to invitations reviewed by POLITICO.

from the other side – zilch on any of the above. zero party surrogates, zero organizing, zero final push, zero fund raising. it’s just donnie dick spewing his usual conman bs to dwindling crowds in his ‘rallies’.

Morning everyone:) This is what happens when you get to be “a certain age”….TOMORROW is Hillary’s and my birthday, not today:) Good grief. The 26th, not the 25th….it’ll be a good day anyway….it’s SOMEONE’S birthday!

    • October 25, 2016 at 7:58 am

LOL, df. That’s funny. Today IS somebody’s birthday–our daughter. She is 46 today. WOW! Can’t figure how that is even possible. As most of you know, she’s in the beginning stages of legal separation, eventual divorce. Three of her friends had a ‘little’ party for her Sunday afternoon. She felt so loved and appreciated them so much. Tonight, she has a MOPS event (already planned). Our 15-year old grandson will fix the 6-year old grilled cheese for dinner and put her to bed.

    HELL yes!

Sheryl Crow thinks that the 2016 campaign has taken up way too much time.

Crow currently has a petition on change.org — as of midday Monday, it had 32,000 signatures — for the Republican and Democratic National Committees to investigate ways to shorten and “make our election cycle more humane and something that we can all be proud of.”

“No one benefits from two years of this. … It certainly hasn’t been informative,” the singer told USA TODAY Monday. “I would like to see a shorter campaign that’s more efficient, that focuses on the issues, that becomes less motivated by the ratings.”

The goal of the petition is to convince the party committees to at least investigate ways to shorten the process.

“We’ve not learned much more in two years than we could have learned in six months to a year,” Crow said.

Not gonna happen with fixed terms with prefixed election dates. That’s why parliamentary system is better. You never know when the gobinment will fall. So, the election dates are unknown.

      GM DF.

      Agree with amk.

If HRC decides to campaign for a 2nd term in 4 years, expect ZERO Dem coverage (except for the negative stuff, of course) and all-GOP-all-the-time beginning next year, probably.

If HRC decides she doesn’t want a 2nd term, then MSM will do everything they can to “prove” Dems are as divided as the completely dysfunctional GOP.

Our election cycles are based on MSM greed… reminders from Feb of LAST YEAR, before #DeplorableDonald entered the race:

I am sick to death of long campaigns too, but then I think if it had not been a long campaign in 2008 would we have gotten to know BHO well enough to elect him? We had a chance to witness his ability to handle many things at once with grace and integrity. Also, Donald Trump came out of the gate like gang busters pulling many people to his side as well as the media giving him lots of attention, free exposure and normalizing his ways of campaigning. It took a long campaign and diligent journalists to dig out his past actions as well as to expose his immorality.
I also hear people say we need term limits. Maybe, but I am not totally convinced as it takes awhile to understand a complicated job. I love my Senator who has been in office a long time. A person at the end of his term can just as easily do corrupt things knowing they cannot run for re-election.
