Hi TOD family. Thanks NW 🌹
I just returned from helping GOTV for NC & FLA.
I worked two phonebanks yesterday and one today. Whew, we are busy. Seeing new people coming in every day. I’m so encouraged 😊
Wow– ‘truth is what serves the party’. On the one hand, this is clearly absurd. And on the other, I can see just how this notion underscores a lot of politics. Thanks for posting, Ladyhawke!
And this is what sums up Donald Trump in a nutshell: “Truth is what serves Donald Trump”. They thought his idea of truth was the same as theirs. They were wrong.
I now have the district totals for the first day of early voting and the down-ballot numbers also are awful for the GOP.
CD3: Registration is 37-35, Democratic. First day: 3,000 raw-vote lead for Democrats. 47 percent, Democratic; 34 percent, Republican. So Democrats were 10 percent above registration and Republicans 1 point below
These tweets are bringing me to tears. Look at how far he’s brought us; from throwing shoes to “WE LOVE YOU!”. Never mind the ACA and all the other legislative accomplishments, He has brought hope and faith and fellowship and good cheer and LOVE back. And the people who wanted him to lash back and act like a Democratic bully were SO WRONG! His constant use of conciliation as ruthless strategy and the integrity with which he has treated the most undeserving has won him respect and deep abiding love all over the world and has restored our respect for the presidency. This is a time like no other.
Interesting in the replies to the link on David Corn’s tweet – lots of twitter eggs supporting Hillary Clinton. Seems that the silent majority is coming out against the stubby fingered abuser – joining twitter to show support. Folks pick on the “eggs” but these are good ones 🙂
Pres Obama made a buoyant entrance into N Las Vegas rally urging, "I need you to call up cousin Pookie and say 'Pookie it’s time to vote.'" pic.twitter.com/TmOyY754Tj
and when he said that, I didn’t get even the slightest hint of recrimination, because that’s exactly what we did to him. and by ‘we’ I mean this nation that he has served so tirelessly and so beautifully.
Thanks for everything Nerdy! This was the BEST rally! PBO was having a blast. He is enjoying himself. Thought it was interesting, he mentioned the Senate candidate’s name more than Hillary’s, AND this is the first time I recall him being so deliberate about the House candidates. Name checked them a number of times. They are doing their best to flip both chambers. Wouldn’t that be spectacular!
These last two weeks is where having all these surrogates will make such a difference. With all of them out, plus the stars, they can cover so much territory. It has an impact. And Hilz has the momentum, you can feel it everywhere. She is peaking at exactly the right time. It could be a blowout but no complacency.
On a more serious note, saw this afternoon where Wikileaks had gotten into a couple of Chelsea’s email accounts and had published some of her emails. Assange is despicable.
Surrogates – Hillary has them all – the idjit has a couple of has beens who spend their time defending the stupid
Emails – it seems the push to ignore them because of how they were obtained & how they may have been altered is winning. Other than for Squint and the Meat Puppet (thank you Charles Pierce) emails are a passing mention.
99, Hillary was born under a lucky star when it comes to outstanding surrogates. I doubt any candidate in our history had more dynamic and powerful speakers working for them than she does.
I read an article that made the point that this email hacking is not the action of a whistleblower, who has knowledge of specific wrong-doing and is trying to call attention to it to correct it. The correct analogy is to the break-in at the Democratic Naitonal Headquarters at the Watergate. It is a tactic to steal confidential campaign information. Now it’s gone further and is just hacking personal email. And all the so-called ‘progressives’ who are sooooo worried about the government reading their Facebook posts (which they keep posting anyway) are all in favor of other people’s privacy being violated in plain sight.
Saw that. There is a UT/TXTrib poll due out in the next couple of days. That is local so should be pretty clear. Frankly, I do not expect her to take TX this time around. A big part of the problem here is the voter id laws disenfranchise so many people, and the GOP governor, sec state, etc don’t care. The state has been taken back to court two times after the voter id law was struck down, they just go back, change something minor, and do it again. Keep in mind, we have counties here that refuse to provide BIRTH CERTIFICATES to children born here if their parents’ can’t provide a whole bunch of documentation. But if she can bring it within 5 points it will happen eventually. This was never a big Trump state, we have the lovely Cruz, so I am not all that surprised by the polling numbers. With the CBS age breakdown, it is the over 45 I believe where Trump is carrying it. As is just about everywhere, the GOP is simply going to die from extinction if they don’t make major changes.
Finally, we do not have a strong Democratic party structure here. They just cannot seem to find the right people to do it. Will be interesting to see if that changes in the future. I basically quit the Dem party here in 2008. I was the Volunteer Director for Tarrant County for the Obama campaign, which is the third larget county in the state. Two weeks before the start of early voting the Dem party decided to pull all support for PBO’s campaign. EVERYONE that was volunteering was doing so because of PBO, not because of the state Dem party. So we broke off from them and finished on our own. It was a very disappointing experience.
I’m going to the board of elections tomorrow to file my absentee ballot. The absentee is my backup plan. When I vote in person, they’ll pull and destroy the absentee; should something prevent in-person voting, my vote has been cast…
Works very differently in my part of the world. If you apply for an absentee(postal) vote your name is marked off the roll & you cannot vote in person. I lost the ballot paper once & that was it – could not vote.
Here, the “regular” absentee ballot must be in a week before the election; it is delivered to your polling place with the voting machines. If you are able to vote in person, the absentee ballot is pulled. After the deadline, if you need an “emergency” absentee ballot, there are provisions for that…
Ours are the same for federal elections – run by the feds. States are different – but not massively so. We had a RWNJ state leader for a few years – introduced voter ID – NEVER has existed anywhere. I refused to take any ID when I went to vote. Took me an extra 30 minutes to vote – had to declare all sorts of things – but the vote counted. Not quite game to deny the vote. I’d voted in the same place for 30 years – knew all the poll workers – and they still try this b.s.
This is the excitement when POTUS ended his speech. I noticed him putting his hand to his heart, something I don’t think I’ve seen him do before at a rally.
This week, POTUS’ lingering and looking at the crowds at the end of each speech reminds me of his glance back on inauguration day… gets me in the fee fees each time…
It makes me think about the minutes after his speech at the Democratic convention, before HRC joined him on stage. He seemed to be absorbing the love from the delegates and locking away in his heart what he was feeling at that moment.
Issa, Obama said, is one of the Republicans he blames for fanning the flames that created Donald Trump, and is now trying to run from Trump as the polls plummet. The California Republican is also one of those kind of Republicans, according to Obama, who spits fire at him and then shows up with family members for pictures at the White House Christmas party every year.
“Some of them say, ‘I’m praying for you,’” Obama said. “And I don’t question the sincerity that they are praying for me: ‘Please change this man from the socialist Muslim that he is.”
He paused.
“I’m sure it’s more sincere than that,” he said, laughing.
^^^ Has a nice ring to it (historically, no, because we need two SANE parties, but they gave up sane a long time ago). Guess maybe the country doesn’t think Hillary’s a she-devil, after all. Trump’s going down. Yay!
The so-called “sane” republicans think they will be able to rebuild their party – but their “limited government” and social issues against health care, safety nets, social security, immigration, women’s rights are what developed into the TeaParty & lost them everyone except white men who think they have the right to rule. There will be two parties but neither will resemble the GOP as it is today.
He has damaged many people – but I do believe those who will suffer the most from this disaster of a campaign will be his family. Divorce could well happen & daughter is trying to distance herself.
Totally understand why PBO couldn’t let loose previously but I sure am loving this “no f…ks left to give” President! All the frustration and disgust so many of us felt so long now verbalized:-)
At DCCC fundraiser, Obama said Rep. Issa's use of a photo with him "is the definition of chutzpah" and "shameless." Per pool: pic.twitter.com/nCHEy0eCDM
Yep. Issa is an idiot and McCain has been nothing but an angry old man since he lost to PBO. Long past time for both of them to go. From what I’ve read, McCain is holding up pretty well in AZ but hopefully GOP turnout will fall if Trump keeps up his rigged line.
I think there are a few things missing from Sam’s analysis which earlier polls not yet picking up
1. Impact of PBO ramping up his campaigning for the lower down races – Hillary is also turning to help senate/house races
2. Lower turnout by republicans as in the last ABC/WaPo poll – this will be a massive help to the senate and the house
3. No ground game by the GOP nominee – all he knows are rallies – which are yoooge.
REALLY no ground game. Because you see, that’s where the real work is done. And as you say, Trump only knows rallies where he can hear the cheers and see the cameras. ADIOS, Trump!
Paid staff sizes, per FEC reports: Clinton camp, 809. Trump camp, 152. DNC, 478. RNC, 270. https://t.co/CgM2cQgsaH
The campaign manager lady was all over the media sunday saying they were behind because Hillary had all these millions of $ which were used to make ads that said terrible things about Donald. Her guy got billions in free media – & still they complain.
I laughed and I laughed and I laughed. Campaigns raise money, make ads and GOTV. Dear Donald has done none of these things. He really thought his name would be enough to get him elected.
Yes, EXACTLY. He thought he could just stand there. ZERO clue how to run a campaign and refused to listen to anyone else. Thought he’d be blazing a new trail. BWWAHAHAAAAA.
And suddenly the billionaire has no money. He who was funding his own campaign.
Some people would say that the GOP nominee is only willing to pay his own companies for campaign expenses and unfortunately he doesn’t own any media companies wherein he could book advertising time.
One of the comments earlier mentioned the anti-Hillary/hate merchandise that is prominent at Trump rallies. That seems to indicate that much of his support is not so much pro-Trump but anti-Hillary/Democrats/liberals. Perhaps that’s why his supporters are so wishy-washy in their support for him and easily defect as he becomes more and more of a lost cause.
I think the Dems & the vast majority of whiny liberals have left the Trump camp. This merchandise is the result of the hate generated by Trump (and I’m afraid a little bit by Bernie during the primaries, although he has been a good surrogate of late).
Wow—Today's @nytimes features a 2-page spread of all the people, places & things Trump has insulted on Twitter since declaring his candidacy pic.twitter.com/eDzwZNIjkF
If only they had supported PBO – would still have the house. Saw a video of Sen Mark Begich from Alaska complaining about PBO in his 2014 campaign – He lost his seat 48% to 46% – should have supported PBO.
You don't read. You don't listen. You don't think. You insult the military in theater. You will forever be a horrific disgrace to our nation https://t.co/VALBjNy3Dc
My condolences. I always perked up when I saw her tweets in the twitterverse or when she was here and looked forward to what she had to say. She had a lot of positive energy! I’m sad she’s gone. RIP.
I am sad to hear this. I was just thinking of her last week. We can be comforted in the knowledge that she is no longer suffering and in pain. Rest in Peace, GoBrooklyn.
{{{ ❤ GoBrooklyn ❤ }}} RIP
I was worried about her. Last week, I asked of her, here. Then I tweeted to her 2X, w/o any reply. Her last Tweet activity was on 26Sept16 or so.
What a loss.
My deepest sympathy to her family.
Thanks Nerdy. So happy to watch something in real time! Evening TOD folks.
💫💫
Congrats!

Congrats!
Hi TOD family. Thanks NW 🌹

I worked two phonebanks yesterday and one today. Whew, we are busy. Seeing new people coming in every day. I’m so encouraged 😊
Gail, THANKS for your commitment to the cause!
Thanks for your service to this important cause!
GGail, you are magnificent. Bless you for all your hard work!
I sent you an email GGail. I’m coming up Nov 5th to phone back for 2 shifts!!! See you then.
Congrats almab and Pamela on First & Furst 😘
Thanks GGail. 🤗
GA/GE TODville.
Rock star welcome for PBO!
Sounds like a Beatles concert back in the day.
“I heard the other guy was trying to tell you how to say Nevada.”
LOL.
He misses nothing – wonderful wonderful man 🙂
It’s on CNN 👊
Call cousin pookie and say, let’s go vote! ~PBO
😄
LMAO
POTUS: Heck No.
POTUS: What the Heck.
“What the Heck!” 🙂 He’s on Fire. Love him.

POTUS is fired up!!
Thank you, Nerdy!!
bigly!
Always will love PBO. The best ever.HZ
I am grinning from ear to ear after this rally with POTUS.
He is electrifying. Thank goodness we have him.
Wow– ‘truth is what serves the party’. On the one hand, this is clearly absurd. And on the other, I can see just how this notion underscores a lot of politics. Thanks for posting, Ladyhawke!

I don’t seem able to watch – or it’s finished?? but speaking of Nevada

O how sweet! Wouldn’t a sweep be perfect?
amk’s aiming for GOP getting 35%, I’m going for the base 27%. If the last ABC poll is near the mark – 20% of republicans might stay home
my aussie tour program fixed yet?
I’m confused – if I do better – you get the tour – sounds like the GOP options for truth 🙂
egg.sack.lee.
what? every one knows that the winner gives
every oneme a present.mmm – as long as you accept the result. When I win the lottery – we shall do the trip. You can bring your poison of choice, I’ll take the wine.
lottery????? goal post shifting. typical aussie commie.
TY Nerdy – I couldn’t get a link to work – love your tweets
LOL. Love this quick on his feet one.
LOVE your tweets NW! Thanks.

GOOD ONE, Booms.
Thanks, sweet one!
No, YOU!!
Coming up:
OMG, LOVE this man
I love that he is campaigning so hard for Hillary, and that he is having such a good time doing it. I just LOVE HIM.
x2
Great!
I wish this was also in form of a short video clip … yes, I am being greedy here
See below!!
thanks a lot O-Sister
You are very welcome.

Special delivery for NerdyW and other Texans (Firefox, and isn’t Don from TX?):
More from Las Vegas:
Tweet should have included the word “ever.”
NerdyW. covered this upthread, but liked the “call and response” description in this tweet:
Got to laugh at how RCP keeps Sec Clinton’s total under 270 – most poll consolidators have her over 300.
Yea they have MN as toss up. No way, no how. Put those 10 EV in Hillz total asap please. MN hasnt voted GOP since eisenhower. Trump is no eisenhower.
Saw that. There is a UT/TXTrib poll due out in the next couple of days. That is local so should be pretty clear. Frankly, I do not expect her to take TX this time around. This is Sen. Reid’s Deputy Chief of Staff:
Crying…
PBO’s years in office made notice and then learn to love and appreciate both Senator Reed and Speaker Pelosi
sorry for the misspelling. it is Senator Reid
I think I will early vote tomorrow.
Sounds good bella – every vote counts – voting early means not getting caught up on election day.

I shall be learning about your elections forever – when I thought I had it sorted – something new comes up 🙂
Each state has different rules! Personally, I think for federal elections, the rules should be uniform.
Ours are the same for federal elections – run by the feds. States are different – but not massively so. We had a RWNJ state leader for a few years – introduced voter ID – NEVER has existed anywhere. And this…
I’m sure they’ll all apologize any minute now.
“yeah”, you & I both “believe” they will “soon” …. starting our countdown clock for hell to freeze over
Stunning, wouldn’t you say?
quite ‘revealing’ you might say.
the worst hypocrite.
Night all…going to cozy up in my little slice of heaven …
g’nite df – your little slice of heaven is turning blue.
beautiful!
zing.
This is the excitement when POTUS ended his speech. I noticed him putting his hand to his heart, something I don’t think I’ve seen him do before at a rally.
She corrected it:
I hope this fills up his spirit after all the vileness he’s had to endure.
Good night TOD ….
#ALL50
Interesting and moving video.
sorry about the thugly’s face.
The only reason most want change is the steady diet of lies fed by the GOPTP.
This week, POTUS’ lingering and looking at the crowds at the end of each speech reminds me of his glance back on inauguration day… gets me in the fee fees each time…
Me too, me too as tears stream down my face. I WILL MISS PRESIDENT OBAMA SO MUCH.
It makes me think about the minutes after his speech at the Democratic convention, before HRC joined him on stage. He seemed to be absorbing the love from the delegates and locking away in his heart what he was feeling at that moment.
The typo on the last line is interesting
“He’s the candidate. Let him say his peace to his people.”
He needs to make peace with millions of people – but don’t think that is what was meant.

*GOP Devastation

Or abuse. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that Melania is an abused wife. And his rage is going to be terrible come November 9.
Given how he speaks about women – that does cross my mind.
Totally understand why PBO couldn’t let loose previously but I sure am loving this “no f…ks left to give” President! All the frustration and disgust so many of us felt so long now verbalized:-)
for me, the icing on the cake will be the asses of issa, the felon and mcangry, the feckless.
Yep. Issa is an idiot and McCain has been nothing but an angry old man since he lost to PBO. Long past time for both of them to go. From what I’ve read, McCain is holding up pretty well in AZ but hopefully GOP turnout will fall if Trump keeps up his rigged line.
To either end or begin everyone’s day, this great news! I trust Sam Wang more than any other forecaster:
Princeton Election Consortium
A first draft of electoral history. Since 2004
As of October 24, 12:05AM EDT:Snapshot (179 state polls): Clinton 340, Trump 198 EV Meta-margin: Clinton +4.7%
Clinton Nov. win probability: random drift 97%, Bayesian 99%
Senate snapshot (49 polls): Dem+Ind: 51, GOP: 49, Meta-margin: D +2.0%, Nov. control probability: Dem. 82%
http://election.princeton.edu/
What about the House? I want a landslide with 360-380 electoral votes and meta-margin of +7!!
I think there are a few things missing from Sam’s analysis which earlier polls not yet picking up
1. Impact of PBO ramping up his campaigning for the lower down races – Hillary is also turning to help senate/house races

Not to mention any Clinton ads I’ve seen that refer to him are using clips of his own words!M 😀
In this respect he is just like Bernie Sanders. Big rallies, no ground game.
Well early voting start today in Florida

Oh, what a difference a few years makes!!
If only they had supported PBO – would still have the house. Saw a video of Sen Mark Begich from Alaska complaining about PBO in his 2014 campaign – He lost his seat 48% to 46% – should have supported PBO.

Yes. Which is why they engage in all that VOTER SUPPRESSION! THEY do the rigging!!
POU announced that GoBrookyn has passed. Sad to share this.
Sad to hear this. May she rest in peace.
That is so sad to hear – she was so brave & such a sweetheart. Privileged to spend time online with her.
OH, NO. OMG, this is so sad. She gave us so much intelligence and thoughtfulness. She was heroic.
RIP, our dear GoBrooklyn. Our hearts are with you.
My condolences. I always perked up when I saw her tweets in the twitterverse or when she was here and looked forward to what she had to say. She had a lot of positive energy! I’m sad she’s gone. RIP.
Thank you for letting us know. I will light a candle for her. She went thru so much. May she rest in peace.
Wow…RIP GoBrooklyn…
