On a couple of threads back someone posted a comment DT made about 25yrs back where he said if he ran for president he would run as a R because they have the stupidest people. The GOP & DEMS has pretty much given up on these folks. There are poor AA counties too who vote DEM year after year but their neighbors who are just as poor and white vote GOP. These states are run by GOP Governors, Legislators, all down the line due to gerrymandering. You can’t dig out of a whole when you keep giving the GOP the shovel to bury you and your neighbor.
Had that very conversation at last night’s debate with a republican. He was going on and on about all of the freebies to the poor (read Blacks & immigrants); pointed out to him (1) Corporate welfare; and (2) most aid to poor goes to whites, however, the vote “R” in order to screw folks of color. We then got on to a discussion of if poor & working class whites formed a coalition with folks of color we could change/improve the direction of his country…
So true jazziz2 but the problem with that is “racism”. They think that if minorities or immigrants gain anything that’s less for them. The media needs to tell the truth about how much the “Mexican” immigrants pay in taxes without getting much in return. So if their kids can get a “free” education or lower in-state college tuition, their working papers paid for it in social security taxes and sales taxes. They keep our economy humming when they buy from local stores or start businesses.
They think that because it’s what they are being sold by their very GOP reps who view them as nothing more than easy votes, and their plight as collateral damage…
But the elections are “rigged” if he loses in PA. He was really betting on “name” recognition ONLY to get elected plus just tell the poor whites, evangelicals, hardcore GOP and some of the people who would get left behind under anyones administration because they have no marketable skills.

I will always #TrustBarack, but he and his Admin also need to know some of us are paying attention. The ONLY hope for a stable, secular, strong democracy in the ME is if the Kurds are enabled to continue building precisely that type of society in Kurdistan and influence its development and expansion in Rojava (Northern Syria), Iraq, Iran, Turkey ….. Won’t be easy but they have the ‘chops’ to make it stick and a key reason is that WOMEN are at the forefront (and battle front) of Kurdish Society.
It’s actually multiple regions, which is part of the problem. Historically, Kurdistan referred to an area in northern Iraq but Kurds are also concentrated in some areas of Syria. I friend of mine who lives here was born in Mosul and most of his family lives in Kurdistan, Iraq. It is pretty much self ruled, and very different from the rest of Iraq. But Kurdistan has not encompassed half of Mosul for awhile.

I’m going to go in my quiet room and say a prayer that Hillary does very well and that she outright wins this thing tonight. I don’t trust Chris Wallace at all. IMO, I believe that he will try and sabotage her. I expect an onslaught of WikiLeaks, emails and Wall Street transcripts ad nauseam. Trump is going to go ballistic on her because he has nothing to lose at this point.
No matter how she handles this onslaught, the pundits will say (as they have with every one of the prior “shows”) that Trump did well and helped himself tonight. If she can get under his skin and make him ramble incoherently like he did at the first “show” it will be a slam dunk for her. If not, we’ll be subjected to “he stopped the bleeding”, “he got the best of her” and my favorite “he saved his candidacy with that performance” for the next few days.
This country is fickle so nothing is a guarantee and we are going to have to work right through the finish line but I think people have really started to pay attention now and just don’t want this con-man leading our Nation. This is why her numbers are starting to really look good which is why cable news will be pressed to make her look bad.
Anyhow I will probably be watching a movie because I admit that my stomach is too weak for this mess. We have far too much at stake and it isn’t a game for those of us that can really be hurt by a Trump presidency.
Remember the pundits need this thing to be close to keep folks watching so be prepared that if he remains standing for 90 minutes they will declare him the big winner tonight. Then the snap poll will come out stating the contrary but they’ll continue on like that never happened.

If he does, it is very possible that Trump completely loses it. I also would not be surprised if he tries to force a face off between Hillary and the Benghazi mother, but Hillary will be ready for it. In the end, I think most Americans have had enough of this spectacle. If Hillary keeps her cool–and she will–doing this garbage a second time will not work. You can only make this kind of a play one time and he did it at the last debate. Look where that got him.

Good to go down memory lane via the videos of PBO and to feel uplifted as a democrat and a liberal after watching the We are democrats commercial. I will keep the good feelings going by avoiding this evening’s horror show by watching shows recorded on my dvr and reading. Tomorrow is soon enough for post-mortems. My hat is off to those of you who have the intestinal fortitude to watch the debates. Everyone that I talk to is so tired of all of this and just want it over. I am also focusing myself on the joys and challenges (there have been many this year) of family life. Looking forward to my mother’s 87th Birthday 11/1/2016, Christmas (I saw some beautiful affordable decorations in Home Depot today) and finally replacing the storm and time damaged fence around my property. Of all of the administrations, democratic and republican that I have lived through, President Obama’s is the only one that I take pride in and the only one that has been and will be transformational for many years to come. We have been blessed far above what we deserve with his service and we have been so blessed to be able to bear witness to this uncommon time in American political and social life.

Rallies were meant to explain your position to your supporters, to get help with campaigning, GOTV and to persuade the undecideds – not a hate fest against your opponent, a sitting President and the leaders of your own party.
Donations are collected to fund your campaign, not to pay yourself for being on the campaign trail.

Our daughter grew up loving the Indians. We went to so many games at the OLD stadium. We suffered through so many lean years. We even went to Spring Training in the early 90’s. Best ‘vacation’ ever. We have all remained loyal fans. This is so exciting……..a little unbelievable, but gotta live in BELIEVE LAND.

He said this and more in his toast last night. Our PBO has changed much of the world. His legacy will continue to inspire for generations to come. When we feel so depressed about the current election and all of the ugliness that we are drowning in, remember that a majority of the U S electorate twice, overwhelmingly elected a bi-racial “skinny kid with a funny name” because we saw who he really is and he saw us for what we really are and how much more that we can become. He told us “You are the ones that you have been waiting for” and we have to remember, “yes we can” even more today.

A confession from this ride or die Obot: PBO’s Italian pronunciation needs some serious improvement 🙂 I would gladly volunteer to help him work on it (dream job) 🙂
PBO does try very hard to speak Italian or Spanish and he gets the words right, but yeah, his pronunciation is not good. But what I notice more than that is that he doesn’t get the cadence of each language, the pattern and melody of expression. But he just needs a few lessons!!

One party has made this election a laughing stock around the world. The Presidential debates were meant to be a debate on the issues by two serious people. Who was invited were family people who supported your policies – not someone to rant and point at the opposition.
Rallies were meant to explain your position to your supporters, to get help with campaigning, GOTV and to persuade the undecideds – not a hate fest against your opponent, a sitting President and the leaders of your own party.
Donations are collected to fund your campaign, not to pay yourself for being on the campaign trail.
Polls exist to show trends, not to demonstrate rigged elections
I could go on and on and on – but this orange menace has debased an electoral system that has been working since the formation of the United states. Any system needs some tweaking – but this goon is attacking democracy because his no nothing brain does not know and does not understand the workings of the largest democracy in the world.
The good part about Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of Trumpo on SNL is that sometimes now when I think of Trump (EEK), I picture Alec.
