How in the world did Sunday night’s debate improve Trump’s standing with Republicans. It was a shitshow.
That’s one of the reasons we can’t be complacent.
While I kept hearing about all the Republicans who were withdrawing their endorsement of or support for Trump, I don’t recall hearing “I will not vote for Trump.” They’re hedging their bets. Ryan said they should do all they can to hold on to their House seats. For Republicans, you can bet that means by hook and by crook
So we can’t assume it’s a done deal until the morning of November 9th.
Because he just keeps telling them what they want to hear.This is raw meat to the base and nothing else. They’re mad at Ryan, Cruz, and all the others who have not delivered the white male privileged paradise they were promised.That’s why Ryan can’t go farther and say he won’t vote for him. The base are enraged and unforgiving.

Greetings from Iowa, home of the worst Congressional representatives around. 😦 We’ve been debating something around here and I thought I’d come here for some informed opinion. Mr. Muscatingal says that The Donald will not concede the election on November 8 and will contest the results for the entire month. Mr. M says that only when the Electoral College meets in December. So, does it matter whether The Donald formally concedes the election or not? What can he do to protest the election, other than saying “it’s rigged”??
The entire world will LAUGH at him if his polls keep tanking, and Hillz’ keep going up.
He should also take care – the rigging will be discovered to be Putin’s hackers, paid for by Tiny Fingers Trump.
No, his concession doesn’t matter legally. Yes, he can file suits but there have to be legitimate grounds for suits. He’s litigious enough to try to do it, but I think the bluster will peter out pretty fast.
But this is why it is vitally important that Dems VOTE, no matter where they live. The stronger the popular vote, the more ridiculous Trump would look. We simply cannot be complacent. Everyone must VOTE.
It can only be contested if its really really close but I doubt it will be close if HRC electoral college is way above 270 and there is no way he could get there and the popular vote is large enough no one with any credibility will represent him in court plus the SCOTUS doesn’t have Scalia anymore. I know Roberts won’t risk his legacy on DT.
He could try but I don’t think the courts would hear it unless the voting was really really close, and I don’t think that will happen.

But they are now in the business of politics, and the Republican Party is both their mark and market. If Trump was debating Clinton on Sunday night, he surely lost. But Trump and Bannon may well have been debating Ryan and McConnell, not Clinton.
November is a short horizon. There is money — and much more — to be made from the GOP’s soul. It’s now clearer than ever that Trump and Bannon intend to own it.

Rather than disband the CFPB entirely, a tribunal of judges on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that the agency will now function under direct oversight of the president, who will have the power to fire the agency’s director at will.
The decision, if it stands, would likely weaken the CFPB’s effectiveness by subjecting it to the political whims of a less hospitable White House some time in the future.
U.S. Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh wrote in the decision that the CFPB’s “single-director structure” violates the separation of powers specified by the Constitution by vesting one person with vast power “unchecked by the president.” Prior to the decision, the president could only fire the director for very specific reasons.

Hello, TOD! I haven’t been here since Wednesday, so I hope you are all doing well. I was helping my Church with their annual Agora, Greek Festival, Thursday from Sunday, and I was at two phone banks for Hillary on Thursday and Monday night.
