1) If senate bill is passed by house, loosening PA’s already lax watcher law, Wolf will veto.
2) As all voting in PA takes place in small, neighborhood precincts, educating poll workers and public of their rights and responsibilities should mitigate any problems. Current law says watchers must reside in the county they are watching. While trump is calling for folks to go to Philly, that’s not going to happen. I’m much more concerned for minorities that reside in predominantly white precincts, the chances of intimidation is much greater in those areas…
3) Proactively planning for situations that may be questioned can alleviate problems. Example: We setup chairs inside the polling place for folks that can’t stand in long lines to wait. This has never been a problem for our voters; however, in 2012, outside agitators raise the issue of line jumping. This year, we are doing a dual number system; the same number will be given to the chair person and their line companion, when the companion gets to the check-in table, they’ll call the chair person to join them. Ironically, when the GOP protection goon made the complaint, I was actually assisting a staunch Romney voter. Shut his ass down and told our local GOP watchers to clear out the outside trash… Thing is, in my town, although we are passionately partisan when it comes to supporting our candidates, we support each other when it come to election day logistics. Food that is brought in s shared among workers of both parties. If one needs to take a rest break and there is no backup to hand out literature, a member of the opposing party will give the lit to your voters.
I’m doing cards with the voter protection phone numbers; will send you a sample.
Alycee, it’s always important to be vigilant, but not to panic. We have resources at our own disposal, including poll watchers, greeters, on call attorneys and other public officials who don’t want to have the results in their counties clouded. We need to be sure we have the phone number of the local Dem Party with us on election, because–believe me–the phones will be manned and they will be on high alert. Some counties in PA–ours included–have election ‘constables,’ whose job is to keep the peace. If you have one in your county, make sure you know that person’s name and can identify him/her if needed. Those who are worried should check with their county or voter registration office and ask what their rights are if they are challenged. It is this office which trains election workers and you have a right to know what the judges and inspectors have been told. I think that as we move into GOTV, we need to give voters the information they need to register complains without scaring them. At all costs, we don’t want to have people so intimidated they decide not to vote.
Your advice is always sound and logical jackie. I think to a large extent so called news sites like to spread fear – trying to make the election closer than it is. It seems to be, as well, like many GOPers, Trump cannot win fairly so he calls on his supporters to intimidate and confront. This is not how a democracy should be voting.
“Republican Obstruction Is Undermining The Supreme Court, Enough Is Enough”
By hobbling the Supreme Court for what could be a year or longer, Republicans are eroding one of the core institutions of American democracy. This cannot be the new normal.
Republicans have long been resolved to defeat proposals I’ve put forward or supported on everything from equal pay, immigration reform and increasing the minimum wage, to expanding commonsense background checks for those who want to purchase a gun, and basic protections for American workers against discrimination based on who they love or how they identify.
Republican leaders in Congress have proven they won’t work with my Administration, but along the way, they’ve lost sight of their basic mission. They can’t even meet their own goals.
She actually has a good point… (…can’t believe I’m actully agreeing with $arah…)
“How is it that the dudes lucked out and got chairs over the last 20 years of VP debates minus one?” Palin wrote in a Facebook post shortly after the debate between vice presidential nominees Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R).
At the moment, Republicans are heavily favored to win gubernatorial races in two of the 12 states holding elections in November (North Dakota and Utah) while Democratic nominees have an advantage in seven (Delaware, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, and West Virginia) and are in toss-up races in three others (Indiana, New Hampshire, and Vermont).
At the #VPDebate, Mike Pence tried really, really hard to deny pretty much everything Donald Trump has said and done. Let's replay the tape: pic.twitter.com/5XNKyFX6az

I love our FLOTUS. Michelle Obama exceeded every expectation that I had for her as First Lady, and fulfilled so many more that I didn’t even know I had. I will miss her come January 20, 2017 😦
THANK YOU, NW for featuring our amazing FLOTUS, who blows my mind every day. SO MUCH LOVE.
Good morning, TODville.
Let’s keep marching forward.
Let’s get the truth out.
Let’s make sure everyone gets registered.
Let’s prepare voters to vote safely and securely and early where possible.
Let’s be prepared to WIN.
In state polls too, she is either closing the gap or increasing the leads in swing states (per drew) of AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, MI, NV, NH, NC, OH, PA, VA & WI.
before the debate started, we all knew that many in the media will help the gop to try and skew what we had just seen with out own eyes;
we knew the rnc sent “accidentally” sent out that message claiming their vp candidate “had won” the debate which had not even happened yet;
so why are some people panicked by the fact that the media is doing exactly what we expected them to do?
my goal is to promote the reactions that motive Dem voters to register & vote, or praise or create an advantage for the Dem ticket while exposing the lies of the gop ticket …. that is all for me folks
Obviously, I don’t blame Kaine at all for interrupting Pence. Pence has nothing to say and nothing to add – nothing that anybody wants to hear. This is America, and Kaine’s all about getting on with it. I’m with him.
If he hadn’t interrupted everyone would be calling him weak this morning. The whining about the interruptions from the whiny left on various live blogs last night drove me insane.
If it were the other side, it would have been considered aggressive, a characteristic that typically deems the debater the winner. I just saw that Pence interrupted 57 times but I guess he was more statesmanlike when he did it.
THis is what the MSM is hiding from the US. I know more about the horror of Mike Pence than most US voters. He is disgusting in his views on everyone except white males. I am always amazed that such people have wives and daughters who must surely close their ears to stay with such a person.
I think it comes down to US/Russia politics @ the UNSC. There were a couple of women I thought might get through the quagmire: Irina Bokova (Bulgaria) & Susana Malcorra (Argentina). Here’s the contender list: http://www.1for7billion.org/candidates/.
And one enterprising individual bought the domain name ThatMexicanThing.com. That web address redirects to Hillary Clinton’s campaign website. According to a report from Wired, it wasn’t the work of Ms. Clinton’s campaign, but of a Portland-based man named Danilo Alfaro.
“I registered the domain and pointed it at hillaryclinton.com on my own, without any contact with the campaign beforehand,” Mr. Alfaro said. (He did add that Mrs. Clinton’s campaign reached out to thank him.)
Good morning TOD! Nerdy, not sure I would be keeping my sanity this election season without TOD. Your efforts to keep us going are sooooo appreciated!
Watched part of the debate last night but then had to mute it. There is something about Pence’s voice that grates on me even worse than Trump’s which is saying something. I always feel when listening to him as if he believes all women are total idiots. It is amazing in a year when we have a woman as the first presidential contender, we have two men on the other side who could not be worse for women and feminism. Trump thinks we’re just accessories, and Pence thinks we have no brains. They are great for one another. I have concluded that any woman that votes for this ticket has zero self respect.
Fortunately, the numbers are looking for Hillary and don’t expect that to change. Hillary is not going to blow the next debate, and even if Trump does better than the last one I don’t think he can change many minds at this point in the race. Now it is all about turnout. Two and a half weeks until early voting starts here.

Rachel had an article about Michelle’s WH garden tonight. The article included how numerous Presidents have changed what previous Presidents put in. It spoke of how Michelle has funded it through a donation program not tax payers money. I got to thinking since Michelle will be in DC for a couple years maybe she can help run the garden while she is there for Hillary (if that is something she would like).
Sometimes I forget that President Obama had to debate Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden for the Democratic ticket leading up to 2008. Hillary did a masterful job of debating Donald Trump. I would not want to debate Barack or Hillary or Joe.

Good morning, TOD!

No. To be forewarned is to be forearmed…

Good West Coast morning TOD family.
Based on media reaction, Kaine pinned Pence to the mat with Trump 😃😂
Boom.
I just gave Hillary more $$…anyone else care to join me?
i give a recurring fee monthly…
Me, too.
I’m in.
I give recurring monthly, plus $200 on last day of Sept. to boost numbers.
Yea!! 🙂 Thanks everyone:)
I gave extra at the end of the quarter, too. Money’s really tight for us right now but I have a recurring donation at least.
I need to give to Tammy Duckworth here in IL as well and I’d like to send a little to other Dem Senate candidates. Trying to cobble it all together.
We did – not at our Obama levels either time, but we’re digging behind the couch cushions for Hill and Tim.
I donated to her again last week. I also think its very important to give to Ann Kirkpatrick to help her beat McCain.
Ditto. I try to give at some point(s) during the month and especially at month end.
Good Morning Everybody.

Unfortunately, his predictions are now at the orange place. Anyhoo, I braved up and took a peek just now.
Pleasantly surprised to know that hillz chances have gone from the lowest of 62% on sep 24 to 82% today. 20 point jump in less than 2 weeks.

No complaints from the pundits when HRC was interrupted by Matt Lauer, Lester Holt, and DT……
No of course not. That’s standard operating procedure if it’s being done to a woman.
I loathe the msm.
They’re still whining! Driving me insane tonight!
