Good day everyone just dropping by to say hi, best wishes to those celebrating, get well greetings to those who are not feeling well, journeying mercies to those going on or are on vacation and God’s protection for those in the path of Hurricane Matthew. Best wishes and prayers for the successful conclusion for Democrats and Hillary Clinton and a big fat zero for the Republican orange fuzz ball, hi AMK and VC, back to lurking and catching up

Hi back at you Anjo; hope you’ve had yourself a good Monday! I had to be responsible and go to work so I’m only now signing in to check out the day’s action in the TOD village.

Gee, wonder how this went over in a room full of veterans…from a draft dodger. This week is starting off just like the last one….

    https://www.buzzfeed.com/emaoconnor/trump-ptsd?utm_term=.sebq1Lj27#.obbyqrxzR

Donald Trump on Monday suggested to a room full of veterans that soldiers who return from war suffering from PTSD are not “strong” and “can’t handle it.”

The GOP presidential candidate’s statement came during a Q&A at the Retired American Warriors Pac. Some of the questions were about the suicide epidemic in the military and criticism of the Veterans Administration (VA) for falling short on providing veterans with the mental health treatment they need.

After saying there are around 22 veteran suicides a day, Trump explained to the room of veterans what PTSD was.
“When people come back from war and combat and they see maybe what the people in this room have seen many times over, and you’re strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can’t handle it,” Trump said.

There was a silence in the room after his statement, and people on social media were quick to express anger toward his comments.

That millions of Americans have been duped by Trump – most of whom would be gravely harmed should he become President – is the severest indictment a FAILED US Education System, ever witnessed.

    • October 3, 2016 at 5:52 pm

God bless POTUS. We can’t soil the office and his legacy by allowing Trump to follow him. I want a crushing, overwhelming victory for HRC with every possible vote so the world sees America rejecting the vile Trump and everything he stands for,

Add these issues to DT’s idiocy on vets issues. From MaddowBlog/Steve Benen

his history of campaign missteps when it comes to veterans.

The most obvious example was Trump boasting last year that prisoners of war aren’t heroes because, as he put it, “I like people who weren’t captured.”

But as regular readers may recall, this is really just the start. The Republican nominee, for example, has drawn criticism for supporting a privatization plan for veterans’ care. His associations with the sketchy Veterans for a Strong America exacerbated the problem.

And it certainly didn’t help matters when Trump, who avoided military service during the Vietnam War, said he “felt” like he’d served in the military because his parents sent him to a military-themed boarding school as a teenager. The Republican went so far as to boast that his expensive prep school gave him “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”

What’s more, Trump, who got caught lying about his financial support for veterans’ charities, has claimed more than once that he understands counter-terrorism better than American generals.

Deep seated racism and misogyny do not ever yield to reason, facts, irony, or plain-old human decency. Stop anguishing over these people, even those in your families, and go out to get new voters who can be educated and willing to register if they have not, and to vote to keep the barbarians at the gate out. Only about a week left in most areas for first time voters to register in time for the election.
It has taken almost 50 years because the god of the USA is money, but more people are finding out that the would be emperor, indeed, has no clothes. The next thing that is needed is an open mick situation in which he reveals how he really feels about the rubes who show up at his rallies.

Ok folks, I’m on my lunch time and I need something light and airy so here’s my contribution…

I’m glad that Kim was not physically harmed, but, how did she get free?
E! News learned that five men wearing ski masks and police jackets were involved in the robbery around 3 a.m. local time. Two men entered her room at No Address Hotel, bound her hands and feet with tape, gagged her and put her in the bathtub before stealing all her jewelry.

She’s amazing:) Like a real life superhero… Glad she’s ok, but for goodness sakes.

      http://www.eonline.com/news/799237/kim-kardashian-bound-gagged-and-held-at-gunpoint-exclusive-new-details-on-the-robbery-in-paris

After the men left with “all her jewelry,” Kardashian “broke out of her bindings and got out,” the source tells E! News. Later, after speaking with Parisian police, the reality star boarded a plane.

“One of Kardashian’s rings, worth an estimated $4.49 million, as well as a jewelry box, worth an estimated $5.6 million, were stolen”.

How does a jewelry box costs more than a diamond ring?

Maybe this will be in the end of The K shows? I can’t stand those people. If they were the nobodies that they are no one would want to job them. I am glad she and the children are not hurt but she and all her family need to drop out of sight!

Given the circumstances it could be very difficult to claim. I have one friend with much valuable jewellery – it spends 90% of it’s time in a bank vault & there are many rules about when/where it is worn.

Hi everybody — this is to let you know that Twitter has locked me out of my account because they think I’m “automated” and not a real person. So @kat4obama might not be back for some time. 😦

      GA K4O.

Sorry to hear that Twitter did that — don’t they provide a form that you send back to them — hope it doesn’t take too long to be re-instated.

If they need users to vouch for you, I’m in. 🙂

      • October 3, 2016 at 5:43 pm

Thank you! A415 🙂 The reinstatement procedure requires a texting phone, which I don’t have, so I emailed Twitter to explain and hope they’ll help me. It’s been about 4 hours now!

          October 3, 2016 at 6:18 pm

          How annoying!

I’m not in the habit of providing phone numbers to internet apps — don’t have one on file with Twitter or my e-mail service providers, so I’d be in the same boat as you. 😦

I’ve gotten a similar “suspicious activity” message from Twitter (with the last couple of months), but crossing my fingers that I don’t get on their bot list.

This makes no sense at all, since their are clearly bots out there… and not all are bad (thinking of @_everybird_, which posts photos of birds).

Four hours seems like a long time for response – hope you get resolution SOON.

Hi Donna! Darned if I know. They locked me out over the weekend saying they saw “suspicious activity” on my account, but I was able to get back in with a new password. Then this morning they decided my account was a bot, even after I proved my human beingness by passing a Captcha test. Maybe Twitter is allergic to cats?
