Congrats on first susanne!
Hi everyone. Been working on a fundraiser, a GOTV mailing, and multiple shifts doing data entry for Hillary. Barely time to breathe. Way, way, behind in TOD, but wanted to say hi to everyone. I did read all your comments for the debate. Felt like I actually saw it, without doing so. Hope all of you and your loved ones are healthy. {{{Nerdy}}} {{{Chips}}}
Hope to be back soon.
Prayers up, please y’all, brother in hospital with congestive heart ❤️ failure- will know more tomorrow. Tha k you, goodnight and May God Bless. ❤️🙏🏻🌹🙏🏻❤️
Well, I’ve been laughing out loud since this release. This “successful” businessman managed to chalk up nearly $1 BiLLION dollars in losses to himself in one year, and thinks he is capable of running the largest economy in the world? Good luck explaining that to American taxpayers. It’s not the taxes, I think most of us have guessed this for a long time, it is the magnitude of his losses that he was hiding. Stunning.
Not only that Foxfire but his losses came at a time when the economy was on a massive growth spurt. My meager investments made more in the 1990s than any time before or since
Yup. And the other thing that is not revealed is how much of a hit the banks took which would show up in the full returns as unearned income. My guess would be that runs at least $500 mil. But he probably worked some kind of a deal with them so it wasn’t all declared in the same year. I just cannot fathom how and why his supporters think he would make a good president.
He’s a fraud. A Taker. A cheat. This reporter needs to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom when all this is over.
The big shift in @realDonaldTrump's charity isn't until '07: he cuts giving to Trump Fdn, then stops & seems to stop giving elsewhere too. https://t.co/0v3ELKQxkW
… says she is having affairs, but has no stamina. .??? I would think keeping up with her busy schedule while still having affairs would be the definition of having stamina. LOL
don’t you like how he said “our taxes” Like he actually paid them….NOT. I hope that he loses so hard they all never come back out again. This election can’t be over soon enough for me.
They don’t care susanne – got to vote against the party of the black guy. And crooked Hillary. The end.
Already out there with the excuses “He employs people, why should he pay taxes” – no doubt coming from folks who don’t pay taxes because they have no money, no income.
So it is all falling apart a month before the election. What were the other republicans doing during the primary – huddling in fear of the biggest loser.
You know, I’d like to see some political ads on TV that have Republicans running saying they support DT directly, or the Republican nominee in general…and then have the sound of heavy prison doors slamming shut with all this fraudulent deeds after each door slam….Dems should jump on that. Kick this pos to the curb and change the tax code so this can’t happen anymore.
‘ The Commission on Presidential Debates is asking people to vote on questions to ask Clinton and Trump. One concerns gerrymandering. Go vote! (Think of it as practice for voting on November 8th.) ‘
Mark Cuban tweeted the other day that if Trump loses, he’d bet he’ll be in bankruptcy within a few years, his brand has become so toxic. I hope he is correct. Have seen a couple of photos of his new Wash hotel over lunch hour and it is empty. Also saw somewhere the rooms are available on priceline or somewhere for $300+ rather than the $800 he was bragging at the opening.
I have wondered all along with the bankruptcies and foreign country dealings as well as past misdeeds how Trump or his family could think he would get away with running for President without exposing these things that could affect their business adversely? For awhile I feared people would not even care upon hearing the past history. Now I pray enough people will care, vote against him to keep him out of the WH. Many will vote based on policies, but there are those less informed that do not study policy outcomes enough to know why Hillary’s policy stand are of benefit to them.
The man either:
1: Doesn’t understand what a conflict of interest is; or
2: Admits he will put his personal interest before the interest of the United States.
Here's what Trump, who will not release his tax returns, said tonight about conflicts of interest. pic.twitter.com/1uvZgpjEIV
And now nyt is reporting that trump paid no taxes in the mid 90s..
This is opposition research from Clinton campaign…
Good job…
Feed them some more … Me likey… 😊
Btw I saw Anthony bourdaiin with the president last night… The president was talking about his time in Indonesia… Where he loved eating at this place where a river ran through… He said he got to pick the fish he would eat… They would cool it right there served with rice… He said it was very simple but very good.
That was a very interesting show…
I hope you saw it? 😉
When you run for office — especially POTUS — you stop becoming a private citizen. Those practices that Trump said made him a good businessman will not work in running the government. I see him stiffing small businesses and employees the same as him, in the capacity of president, working on the behalf of himself and his compadres to the detriment of working and low income citizens.
Did he have knowledge of he NYT story at this point? He really is going off the deep end…and Twitter is just getting started good, not to mention the Sunday talk shows.
He was more than 1.5 hours late for the speech, he didn’t use a teleprompter – odds on he knew about the NYT story and thought he would throw anything to distract from his taxes. Didn’t work so well.
I thought they were live (although there are sometimes recorded interviews) – I really don’t know. The surrogates will probably appear to talk about adultery and taxes – which given who they represent is not a good idea. It seems (and maybe I’m dreaming) – the media fools are beginning to realise what they have done.
The GOP unlocked the door by condoning the eight years of disrespect towards President Obama. Racists were becoming more blatant in their comments and actions. Trump just blasted the door open, completely destroying political correctness and the moral compass of individuals…making it “okay” to do and say anything.
Absolutely swbluega – among his rants at the rally yesterday Trump again attacked PBO. He seems to be a slow learner – this does not help him in any way whatsoever.
Trump is out there all alone like Col. Kurtz form “Apocalypse Now.” His methods are questionable at best, the only thing left for Trump to do now is to cut off all his hair and sit on his cot and receive daily updates from his staff.
The $916 million loss certainly could have eliminated any federal income taxes Mr. Trump otherwise would have owed on the $50,000 to $100,000 he was paid for each episode of “The Apprentice,” or the roughly $45 million he was paid between 1995 and 2009 when he was chairman or chief executive of the publicly traded company he created to assume ownership of his troubled Atlantic City casinos. Ordinary investors in the new company, meanwhile, saw the value of their shares plunge to 17 cents from $35.50, while scores of contractors went unpaid for work on Mr. Trump’s casinos and casino bondholders received pennies on the dollar.
/
He scammed both his investors and his contractors and enriched his ugly ass while at the same time did not pay any taxes leaving the ordinary tax-payers, his so called ‘base’, holding the bag. And is simultaneously scamming the rubes with how the elites are screwing over the little guys like them vile rhetoric. A complete con man.
When Donald Trump submitted financial disclosure forms to election regulators, he bragged that his portfolio included some of the “finest and most iconic properties in the world.” Among them was Trump National Golf Club Jupiter in Jupiter, Fla., which Trump valued at more than $50 million.
That came as a surprise to officials in Palm Beach County, where the golf course is located. A few months earlier, for the third straight year, Trump’s attorney had gone to court to argue that, for the sake of calculating his tax bill, the property was worth “no more than $5 million.”
A Washington Post review of local property records revealed the same pattern across most of Trump’s U.S. golf courses.
It is not unusual for corporations and other property owners to aggressively petition for lower taxes, and differences between the market value of a business and the assessed taxable value of its real estate are commonplace…But tax analysts say it’s rare for values to shift as much as those of Trump’s clubs. It’s also unusual that a business owner would provide potentially contradictory information in a different forum, as Trump has done with his financial disclosure.
A BuzzFeed report, details the sad history of Keith Cooper, who served 10 years of a 40-year sentence after being misidentified.
When the new evidence came to light, a judge in the case offered Cooper a deal if he agreed to be resentenced for the crime. By accepting the deal he was granted “time served” from the 10 years, but still isn’t found by a court to be considered innocent.
Cooper filed a pardon request to the parole board and they unanimously voted that he should be pardoned and have his two felony charges taken off of his criminal record.
Pence refused, saying it needs to stand “out of respect for the judicial process.” This comes after a two-year delay where Pence tried to claim that Cooper’s paperwork wasn’t in order.
Pence can’t help Trump because Pence doesn’t speak Trump’s language and he can’t appeal to Trump’s base. Pence is just your average Republican hell bent on tax cuts for the rich and maybe starting a war or two. Trump isn’t a Republican, he’s never been one, he’s an opportunist and a snake oil salesman. Trump appeals to the Republican Id and they will follow him wherever he goes.
I wonder who among Trump’s supporters care that he did not pay taxes…Trump’s support is steeped deep in the New Southern Strategy aka Trumpism…racism…and all the other isms are part of a belief system….i posted an article yesterday about a woman who believes all of the myths about the President and The First Lady…Trumpism has given legitimacy to these long held beliefs about black folks, immigrants and now Muslims.
If you want to talk about radicalization…RW TV..radio…the whole RE entertainment system ..The GOP itself has done much to radicalized white folks and to legitimize the racist notions in America…to make it OK to be a racist…even among the so-called well educated..
hade to talk abot #TruthandReconcilliation when white folks think that it is ok to be racist..
There are those among Trumps supporters who think that him getting away with paying no taxes, for as long as he possibly has, is admirable. It makes him more of a hero to them. Of course, these are the same people who benefit from programs paid for by these same taxes.
i saw an article that said that there was hope that these kind of stories would convince voters to vote for Hillary instead of doing a protest vote for a 3rd party candidate…what i would say-if they did not share the concern about Trump’s hatred for blk folks women…immigrants…etc did not motivate them to get real…nothing will…
Problem is, they have to be moved from that conviction — propagandized over decades — that Hillary Clinton is corrupt. This is evidenced when every time something comes up about Trump, there is an immediate pivot to something HRC is supposedly guilty of with little to no denial of its factualness.
At the same time, I want to believe that more people have already been convinced to vote for Hillary, and that the MSM is trying to string out the drama by reporting otherwise.
By Lorene Cary | We’re halfway through the dedication of the National Museum of African American History and Culture by the time the violins swell and Patti LaBelle’s voice pours through Sam Cooke’s 1964 hope-ballad “ A Change Gonna Come.” People were once sold on this site as slaves. Other people marched here for jobs and freedom; I watched them on our black and white TV when I was seven. Now, on a September morning in 2016, on America’s front lawn, more than 10,000 of us gather to stand where they stood and hallow the ground…

Here is a fun thought. Whoever leaked Donald Trump’s 1996 taxes likely has more than just three pages from one year. If we learned anything from the Clinton emails*, we learned that a story in drips never, ever dies. It does not even need to have anything interesting in it. But Trump’s tax story is so, so interesting. What business genius loses a billion dollars in the middle of an economic expansion? America was printing money in the mid 90’s. After a revelation like this it sounds a lot more plausible that the guy is effectively broke and keeping up the lifestyle by piling on debt to Russian mobsters and a couple recklessly stupid soon to be ex-managers at Deutsche Bank.
Now it could be that Trump’s mole has just that one batch of papers. You and I have no way to know. But Trump has no way to know either. And I expect he or she has more for the simple reason that the 1996 return is such an obviously crucial year. The near-billion dollar loss apparently set Trump up to live income tax-free for up to two decades. From what I understand any later year’s return would make much more sense if you saw what happened in 1996. The leaked documents would be a very smart first step.
And with this in mind, the New York Times’ Robert Draper reports today on an amazing attempt at outreach from Team Trump to the Ohio governor.
One day this past May, Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a senior adviser to Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, who left the presidential race just a few weeks before. As a candidate, Kasich declared in March that Trump was “really not prepared to be president of the United States,” and the following month he took the highly unusual step of coordinating with his rival Senator Ted Cruz in an effort to deny Trump the nomination. But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?
When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.
Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?
“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

Could someone explain to me how Trump made and lost $916 million in ONE YEAR!
There is a reason real estate folks enjoy the same reputation as the used car salesman.
I read somewhere that part of his MO is undervaluing is properties — significantly — for tax purposes.
“Trump claims his golf courses are worth tens of millions. Until the tax bill arrives.”
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/how-much-does-trump-claim-his-golf-courses-are-worth-it-depends-who-needs-to-know/2016/08/21/71828f3a-5f3c-11e6-9d2f-b1a3564181a1_story.html

Oh geeze…. “Other people’s money” takes on a whole new meaning.
New post.
