    Good news from Florida, Clinton leads +5 in new Monmouth Poll. Monmouth is a live interview mixed cell phone and landline, one of the more credible pollsters of this election.

    The shift in language coincides with Trump’s reversal on his false, five-year-old claims that president Barack Obama was born outside the US, which came with a new fabrication on the topic: that his opponent, Hillary Clinton, started the rumors about Obama’s birthplace.

    Says Baquet, “The birther issue represents, well, outright lying. And he lied over a long period. It is a real word and we will use it when warranted.”

      Long overdue. GOP and MSM have so much to answer for with allowing this country to be so debased by the GOP nominee. It won’t come to this, but if he were President, he’s a coward who would meekly do whatever will fill his coffers best, and provide the opposite bluster to appease the white nationalists who voted for him.

      Here’s the tweet I was responding to:

      An example of his overblown bluster — ashamed that there are Americans who actually admire the uncivil behavior DJT brags he would do:

    But even while Republicans are outraged by Wells Fargo’s wrongdoing, all the Republican senators who spoke against the bank at today’s hearing have gone on record at various times in calling for the full repeal of President Obama’s financial regulation law — which would mean eliminating the agency that uncovered the wrongdoing and levied the biggest fines.
    .
    .
    With today’s rhetoric, Shelby, Toomey, Corker, and others confirmed that consumer abuses by major national banking conglomerates are a serious problem. Warren, Obama, and other Democrats have a solution to the problem — a national regulatory agency focused on consumer abuses. Banking committee Republicans want to grandstand when banks get caught, while voting to make it much less likely that banks actually do get caught.

        Remarks by President Obama at Leaders Summit on Refugees – September 20, 2016

        https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2016/09/20/remarks-president-obama-leaders-summit-refugees

        And here in New York, Alex, who is just six years old, sat down and wrote me a letter. And he said, he wanted Omran to come live with him and his family. “Since he won’t bring toys,” Alex wrote, “I will share my bike and I will teach him how to ride it. I will teach him addition and subtraction. My little sister will be collecting butterflies and fireflies for him…We can all play together. We will give him a family and he will be our brother.”

        Those are the words of a six-year-old boy. He teaches us a lot. (Applause.)

        The humanity that a young child can display, who hasn’t learned to be cynical, or suspicious, or fearful of other people because of where they’re from, or how they look, or how they pray, and who just understands the notion of treating somebody that is like him with compassion, with kindness — we can all learn from Alex. Imagine the suffering we could ease, and the lives we could save, and what our world would look like if, seeing a child who’s hurting anywhere in the world, we say, “We will give him a family and he will be our brother.”

        We spend, so many of us in politics and in leadership, so much time devoted to ascending the ladders of power. We spend time maintaining it; we spend time trying to win over public opinion. And maybe sometimes we forget that the only rationale for doing it is to help that little boy. I hope and pray that we remember.

        I appreciate all of your support. Thank you. (Applause.)

        END

    Chester, the only city in my county, used to be a thriving industrial oasis; however, it has become the poster child for what happens when industry, jobs, and the middle class pack up and leave town. The city has high crime, high poverty, poor schools; most news coverage is doom and gloom… However, there is another side of Chester that is rarely covered — in the midst of all the turmoil there are folks striving for more, trying to do better, providing opportunities for their youth. The friend’s 13 year old son launched a book drive to put new books in each of the school libraries and the public library; I Can I Will runs a youth gardening and art program; etc, etc… So proud of and happy for this young lady!

        He is similar to AA’s I will call the OJ/Tiger Woods mindset…..they are wealthy, most of their friends are white, their wives are white, therefore they are not like “other” AA’s until they get into trouble and the folks they identify most with turn against them then they look for the AA community to stand behind them.

      Side note.

      Not that this matters at all in the grand scheme, but guy wants to be president and the head of the federal government. And he doesn’t know (of course) that the overarching federal civilian human relations agency is called OPM – the Office of Personnel Management. If he ever got close, which he won’t, he’d be thinking other people’s money each time he saw OPM.

      Every thing he says makes me gag, with its ineptness, stupidity, grossness, etc.

    After another police shooting, silence from Kaepernick’s critics speaks volumes
    September 20, 2016 10:38am EDT

    On Sunday afternoon, Colin Kaepernick knelt for the national anthem before another game. On Monday, video went public of unarmed 40-year-old Terence Crutcher being shot to death by Tulsa police, as he walked beside his stalled car with his hands clearly raised.

    Kaepernick responded to it on Twitter several times that day. His point was being made for him in the most horrific way, a graphic example of the police brutality against citizens of color he told America from Day One was the primary target of his protest.

    As of Tuesday morning, his critics across the sports world the last three weeks had said of the Tulsa video … absolutely nothing.

    Thunderous silence. Complete absence from the discussion. Utter disinterest in a full-color, blood-soaked illustration of the very issue they obstructed and deflected in their rush to condemn Kaepernick and his method of protest.

      Yeah but people are calling RR’s Show complaining they can’t get any information on HRC, “why isn’t she sending mailers to Republicans?” one caller who is a Republican said she gets tons of DT crap. I have never received GOP political crap as a registered DEM in all my years voting. RR was saying DT has an online presence that HRC does not….does anyone know about this?

    I have been filled with rage and sorrow ever since I read about the death of Mr. Terrence Crutcher;

    adding insult to injury is when we hear/read reports repeatedly blaming of the victims of police shooting for their death;

    whether the victim had PCP in the car is not relevant to why he was murdered with his hands up;

    how does something one has in car explain bullets fired when the police is standing a distance from the car;

    can anyone explain how the officers on the ground and in the air determined what it is he is alleged to have in the car and that he was “one bad dude” as they said?

    incidents like these make it very hard for rational observers to think straight

    • 95 globalcitizenlinda
      September 20, 2016 at 9:00 pm

      of course this comment is not even addressing whether the claim of PCP is correct;

      I await that proof

    Trump brags about using ‘other people’s money’ amid questions over charity use

    http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/20/politics/donald-trump-foundation-other-peoples-money/

    Trump, while calling for building safe zones in Syria financed by Gulf states, vaunted the benefits of doing business with “OPM.”

    “It’s called OPM. I do it all the time in business. It’s called other people’s money,” Trump said. “There’s nothing like doing things with other people’s money because it takes the risk — you get a good chunk out of it and it takes the risk.”
